Thank you for mentioning the need for different sizes. As someone with a 6.25 inch wrist, I'm tired of being told that I can wear a 40mms because it fits most people. It's like walking into a clothing store and being told I should wear a size 42 suit because it's the average size (I'm a size 38). There's also the preference for fit. Some guys prefer a modern skin for suit while others prefer a more relaxed fit
I tried one of these watches at my local dealer. Absolutely gorgeous! And now it's the next watch on my "to-buy" list. Thank you for giving Longines the love it deserves. I always enjoy your reviews!
Looks nice . In 5 years most watches will be this reasonable classic not in or out of fashion size . And the guys with monsters on their wrists will then have dinosaurs 🦕.
I am wearing a very, very basic watch that I inherited from my uncle. Why do I mention it? It's because it has a chromed steel case and a champagne coloured sunburst dial. So it has an echo of your comment about your preference for the colour combination of "silver and champagne". I wear it with a mid-tan leather strap. Not a single jewel resides in the mechanism! I like it.
A gorgeous watch. I too like a champagne dial and would happily wear this piece despite my almost 8" wrist, but it's the Longines 'Silver Arrow' that really has my heart. That said, if the words Longines and Heritage are in the description chances are high that I'd gladly own it.
Tried this on last week at Bucherer in both blue and silver 37 and 40mm variants. I have a 6.5inch wrist and the 37mm was PERFECT. Anyone with a wrist less than 7inch should look at this. It's very well made and overall represents class leading value for money, no question. However, I didn't pull the trigger simply because although Longines included a very well thought out quick release mechanism for getting the bracelet off without a tool, they simply forgot to include an "on the fly" micro adjustment. It has a few holes but requires a tool. So close and a missed opportunity from Longines. A pity as this stops me from saying it's the best everyday sports watch under €3k.
I’m undecided weather to go for the watch featured, or the 40mm sprint titanium. Both look superb. I have a 7 and quarter inch wrist, so can manage a 40mm ok. It will be a Longines for sure. Spoiled for choice though.
This will be my last and only expensive watch .. i hope the lume doesn’t disappoint me coz am dependent on it i hate glaring on my phone after I woke up
Hey Tim, just ordered the champagne 37 from an AD in Berlin and now I am waiting. Need to tell my wife JOMW. Your review‘s great, especially I am excited to see (in future yrs like you with your DayDate) the variations of the dial shine in real life. I wanted to buy the 42 version in blue last autumn but was with too long lugs 4 me. Now let’s see the 37 - I will report…. pls continue your great work (also the leather peaces). Cheers from Cologne
I absolutely agree with your reasons Tim. I myself have five watches that range from 35 to 38 mm including a champagne dial vintage Omega. I have a 17. 2 cm (7 1/4 in) wrist & I find they each suit me beautifully. Nor are they all dress watches. My Ollech & Wajs, Seiko & Weiss would be considered tool/ field designs. I see Longines strategy to re capture a very important niche that they once dominated. I don't see how they can fail to achieve this with such breathtaking designs. A brand to keep an eye on for sure! Thanks for your content Tim. Always enjoyable ...see you Friday.
Interesting how Longines use female models for their promotional photographs. Very similar in case and size to the Seiko 5 SNKL41, which in my opinion is a millimeter or two from budget dailyable perfection.
Very happy with my Titanium version of this watch. Add week-day like with Rolex day-date and it's a win! Still pricey, otherwise I'd consider it for my mum.
This and (I believe, but may be wrong) all Longines have ETA mov'ts modified specifically for the brand by the Swatch Grp., which is possibly a better claim to the in-house moniker than many other brands who make that claim.
This watch in the 40mm and the 42mm have a screw down crown. The author here does not realize that the 37mm version of The Spirit watch is a conventional crown and not a screw down crown. I like this crown better anyway because I am not take my luxury watches into the shower or pool or ocean and that's for sure. When washing hands I always take the watch off.
I welcome this tasteful range at 37mm. Tim, I like your shoe-size analogy even if it can only be applied so far; I can't remember clown-shoes ever being 'the thing'. Mind you, they might look good with a square-wheeled car featuring exploding exhaust system.
In the pictures it does look bland but I have a few watches with sunburst dials and very simple otherwise which look good in varying light so it would be Interesting to see it "in the flesh". A car manufacturer will often offer the same model with 3 doors or 5, as an estate or a coupe to appeal to as wide a range of potential customers as possible. Why wouldn't a watch manufacturer do the same with nothing like the same overheads?
I like Longines just like the next guy (I own one...my favorite daily wear), but almost every watch brand has their own version of the Rolex Datejust or the Oyster Perpetual....if I want the look of a datejust, I buy a datejust. Looking for "alternatives", or the "next best thing", will never satisfy you. It's one thing if you really want that Spirits Longines watch, then I say go for it. Talk about how good it is on its own. But to spend most of the video comparing it to a Rolex, well, just go and buy a Rolex.
Those lugs do look long... However I'm hoping for the later! I have a wrist that can wear it and I do like a watch that gets its presence from length rather than width.
Too bad it has a date window. I own a Spirit 40mm in titanium. This is a no date version and is so much more balanced in dial design. Might pick up the 37mm champagne version sometime nonetheless.
I don't know, the case shape on these (all sizes) clash with my own feel for aesthetics...usually I like long lugs, but combined here with to much thickness of the lugs, just looks unbalanced and unrefined. Especially with the bracelet, it just looks strange.
I saw it on a jewelers window just an hour after seeing your video, lug to lug still looks big and the case finishing is not that well executed for that price. Christopher Ward does a better job on that.
Love the date moved to the 6 o'clock position but the ridiculous stars , chronometer ad and 19mm band are not attractive. Longines has been my favorite watch for more than 50 years. Their designs up to now have been flawless. The homage to Rolex is quite unnecessary. I will stay with the Heritage.

110% with you. I've tried Spirit 40mm and it felt a bit too big for me (lug-to-lug). 37mm should be about perfect.
Yes
I used to wear case size 40 to 44 mm.
Currently enjoy wearing a simple old russian watch at just 34mm.
19cm wrist.
Poljot?

I always look forward to your Monday quick takes. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Finally! Exactly for all the reasons mentioned champaign dial version on a bracelet is going to be my next watch.
Spot on! My 1980 Rolex 16030 was my first luxury purchase, still have it.
I’m a big fan of Longines, my wife got me a conquest and I got her a prima luna. I think the brand is under rated
Das ist wirklich eine sehr schöne Uhr. Da passt fast alles. Die Größe gefällt mir, und das Champagne Zifferblatt rockt.
Looks nice . In 5 years most watches will be this reasonable classic not in or out of fashion size . And the guys with monsters on their wrists will then have dinosaurs 🦕.
I'm with you on the size subject. When I hear reviews saying that the tudor black bay 58 is a small watch I'm thinking have they lost their minds 🤔
Spot on the ‘trends’…. I like what I like AMD love what I love… 37mm 😘

When will it be possible to buy them?
IMHO at 37mm size is perfect for most wrists!!!!! At last a respectful size!!!! Regards from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Love the channel...
Obrigado!

Another knockout watch from Longines! I like the 37mm case width, a perfect size for my small wrist. And the champaign dial makes for a classic look.
This will be my last and only expensive watch .. i hope the lume doesn’t disappoint me coz am dependent on it i hate glaring on my phone after I woke up

Finally received my Spirit champagne…7 months after the purchase…now let the dial work ☀️
I was close to polling on this but I opted for the Heritage Classic with the second sub dial. Both are nice.
I like the review and I like the watch - 5 star watch! 🤩

Inaccurate in that whilst the 40 and 42mm have a screw in the 37mm does not. It still however, has a water resistance of 100mtrs.
I was about to comment the same thing.
The Spirit 37 does not have a screw down crown…
Very happy with my Titanium version of this watch. Add week-day like with Rolex day-date and it's a win! Still pricey, otherwise I'd consider it for my mum.
Handsome watch
Crown is push/pull, thanks for a great review.
Thanks for watching.
From an aesthetic point of view, this Longines blows away the old Rolex.
Started to follow you recently.
Very good work. Love your way to present and explore. Keep going. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for watching!
Is this movement new? Because a 70hr power reserve with silicon hairspring from ETA pretty much negates the need for in-house for me…
This and (I believe, but may be wrong) all Longines have ETA mov'ts modified specifically for the brand by the Swatch Grp., which is possibly a better claim to the in-house moniker than many other brands who make that claim.
What do you think about this compared to the new King Seiko? They ae $1,400...
Champagne for the win!👍
A review it will be great! Regards from México 👋🏽
I definitly buy this
Yes, that's a good looking watch. Would prefer no date & a couple of mm bigger myself, then I'd give it serious consideration. Cheers 👍🏻
No date options available
@@deedee8568 excellent, thank you 👍🏻
I can't get your intro music out of my head !
That's a cool piece indeed. I wish it was my own production ;-)
Would prefer it in a no date version.
🙋🏻♂
My brand new Spirit 37 features NO screw down crown. Please double check this information! There is a screw down caseback though.
I had read it did until I went into my authorized dealer… SOOO bummed about that.

Hey Tim did you bought it?
I was sneaking around it, but then came the Tudor Two Tone :-D
Any idea of the lug to lug on this piece. Thanks
45mm on strap and 47mm on braclet due to endlinks
Does the bracket taper?
I welcome this tasteful range at 37mm.

Finally a normal size!

Is the 45mm L2L confirmed? I read somewhere it’s 47. Im really hoping for the former.
Those lugs do look long... However I'm hoping for the later! I have a wrist that can wear it and I do like a watch that gets its presence from length rather than width.
La version titane dans cette taille avec date à 6 heures serait la perfection pour moi
I like it...........if I only had some more bucks ! 🤔🤔
I'd love to see it on a man's wrist, soon as it's in my AD if the champagne fits I'm having one
Great video
Thanks!
I think 36-37mm is still okay for men... 35mm is the threshold for me. Below 35mm is really women's watch territory.
Too bad it has a date window. I own a Spirit 40mm in titanium. This is a no date version and is so much more balanced in dial design. Might pick up the 37mm champagne version sometime nonetheless.
Does someone have a source for the mentioned 45mm lug to lug size as confirmation? Other articles say 47mm l2l.
Thanks!
Also I note male end links so real l2l will be more so small wrist people will need to be on the leather band only.
I believe it is 45mm Lug to Lug on strap and 47mm on braclet due to endlinks
Click because Tim ....😙
And is Tim's voice 😔😔😢
why is Longines marketed this watch to woman? they should marked it as unisex and/or vintage size
I find that Longines far more attractive than the Datejust, must be the Arabics.....................................
Spot on size, wish they kept the date at 3.
There's actually no screwdown crown!
I don't know, the case shape on these (all sizes) clash with my own feel for aesthetics...usually I like long lugs, but combined here with to much thickness of the lugs, just looks unbalanced and unrefined. Especially with the bracelet, it just looks strange.

Hahahaha that's a good joke
19mm lugs!
It's not a screw down crown.
Less of this sexist/sizeist rubbish😱 it's a good looking watch full stop😁
Love the date moved to the 6 o'clock position but the ridiculous stars , chronometer ad and 19mm band are not attractive. Longines has been my favorite watch for more than 50 years. Their designs up to now have been flawless. The homage to Rolex is quite unnecessary. I will stay with the Heritage.
Another decadant western brand ran out of ideas to sell overpriced crap.
