O my goodness, this is my story , down to a T , but I’m 2 years into mine. My ringing was so bad that I could turn the volume all the way up and my tinnitus was still louder and I let my Dr experience how loud it was and he almost started crying that I’m have to experience it that volume. I went to the emergency room around 7 times this year with no help from Drs, plus I had suicidal thoughts as well. You have to listen to sound therapy, that’s a must, You got to keep telling yourself that your going to get better, plus I had covid with it twice. First time with Covid, I was in the bed for 3 1/2 weeks and I was really bad off with Covid. 2nd time I had just a few symptoms. I’m still praying and believing that God is going to bring me through it. You have got to Pray pray pray. I could write a book , so I’ll stop boring everyone. God Bless you all who has tinnitus. Once I get my product on the market, I want to help as many people with tinnitus that’s humanly possible, plus everyone that’s suicidal. God loves us all.

Always helpful to hear success stories. This condition is so draining, thank goodness for technology so we can carry sounds to mask with us. I’m about 2months in from the high pitch sound coming 24/7. Mostly in my left ear/brain and came on after a few weeks of stuffy ear with intermittent ache, I had the wax removed but it still felt stuffy and the ringing started a few days later. As I grind my teeth and have had neck issues for decades, being 62, I thought it likely somatic and hoped it would go in time. But now know i have hearing loss in the left ear, maybe a virus back when it was stuffy ???, so might be here for ever. Luckily using a ear bud playing cricket like tones I can keep going without going mad and there’s good and bad times, I sleep with the noise playing beside my bed so when I wake I concentrate on it not my tinnitus and nod off again. Every now and then I feel silence and it’s bliss and when I’m out and about in a noisy environment I can get the brain noise out of centre court. I feel your anguish fellow sufferers and your hope for relief. I’d recommend using the Apps available that you can create tones and sounds to give relief. 🤗

First of all thank you both and all the other people who make these vids.
The problem is i think im scared to try these things because im afraid it won''t work.
I gladly talk to someone about it who is a professional but im scared for the bad docs out there who don't seem to care, i can tell you my whole story wich i might do one day
but wil just share a little bit. I got it from a very loud piece of fire work that i threw in a flat building so it was amplified if yall know what i mean, have it for 10 years now and i had a lot of different stages with it.
There were times i '' didn"t '' had it anymore and i would do something stupid like listening to loud music, got thrue all the stages again and it always got better to the point i could sit in a quiet room and all was nothing but silence.
This happend almost every year, with music or without, now again im in the same boat, 3 months of irritating tinnitus.
Annyway after again the period of anxiety, depression etc. Im overall in a good place, lets say 90% living my life but still....it annoys me knowing how it was to have silence. And yeah, you may all call me stupid for doing what i did.
Im from Holland btw, and don't like the docs here very much.

Also referred to as desensitization, sound therapy is used to desensitize a patient’s hearing over a period of several months. This is achieved through the use of noise generators, which may take the form of an ear-level device, similar to a hearing aid, or a bedside sound generator. White noise is the sound most commonly used.

tinnitus are always linked to a loss of hair cells. the brain produces this phantom noise, which is tinnitus, in an attempt to compensate for this loss of frequency…. it is therefore necessary, as in a stroke, to re-educate the brain…. sound therapy, including the TOMATIS method, is the best solution….. relaxation techniques help to practice it better and to wait for it to work

Thank you Steve from someone who has managed to climb out of that awful Stage 1 but has got rather stuck and frustrated trying to get from 2 to 3. I have been debating whether or not to invest in ear level sound generators. My NHS audiologist told me there is no evidence that they are effective so didn't recommended them but hearing what you have to say gives me the confidence to invest in some and progress my habituation. I too am a pharmacist btw ! Thank you Dr Ben for producing this video, just what I needed in a week where progress seems to have stopped or gone backwards.

This was very helpful. I’ve had tinnitus for about 8 weeks. Steve’s story is very encouraging. The only thing I am concerned about is the cost of the therapy and technology. how long should i give it time?
what can i do if you are a carpenter. And that 1 of the things is how I got my tinnitus.
today an ENT doctor tells me that I can't be helped!
I'm at home for a series and can't focus my mind on the series anymore, the sound is just too loud. And I don't know how to proceed.
