    In most states you need an appointment for the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). I would go ahead and make the appointment prior to moving so you already have it set up once you get there. So 30-60 days prior to moving look for your appointment. Same with Utilities, Water, Internet and Cable. Also if you need a PO Box if you are in between housing.

    Parts Box 📦 (Parts & Tools). Yes, a great idea.
    Please use a separate box for your cleaners, and the TP 🧻 and Paper towels 🧻 (apparently there’s no emoji for PT). You don’t want to end up using your dry items while they’re in the box, if the cleaners leak.
    Putting cleaners in a big, thick trash bag helps too.

    I’m 21 and about to graduate from college and im realizing I can’t keep living here in the north. It’s too cold 8 months of the year and I’m cooped up inside all the time depressed and anxious. Every time I vacation in Florida I’m happier than ever. People are rich snots where I’m from in Minnesota and I just need to move away for at least a year and see where life takes me. I’ve got a few grand put aside and I’m talking to a bar in Clearwater Florida to potentially work at and I’m gonna attempt to find an small apartment to live in. I’ve got a few friends that live near Tampa which leads me to my next point. It’s always good to have connections everywhere you go. @@primer3458 growing up I raced motor-cross and rode jet skis. I still love two wheels but I’d love seeing a forest covered in snow, snowmobiles are so foreign to me. When it comes to spending lots of time indoors I have schizophrenia, I spend almost all my free time at home. I’d prefer a cozy blanket bundled up in bed to sweating with the AC cranked as low as it goes. It’s really amazing how being raised somewhere is either the place you want to be forever or the exact opposite. I will say the best part of the south is riding down the Natchez Trace during fall, little bite in the air with beautiful colors.

    • @missautumn1280
      @missautumn1280 3 года назад +8

      For emergencies to leave an abusive home, Save as much money as you can, whatever you can, only change your address once you figure out where you will be living permanently until then keep your ID. Start an “emergency job” once you get where you’re going, like a waitress, waiter; server, hotel front desk, housekeeping, fast food etc get this job if you have NO money and start using that to finance your move. Then once you’re stable search fir a job you really want, or even go to school. If this is too hard, just scrounge up a couple hundred dollars and pack a bag and start driving. Wherever you settle, sleep in your car and only eat cheap dollar menu meals.. look for a job you can get immediately. Also look into shelters for abused individuals or a roommate service. It’ll all come together. Best of luck to you!

I know you made this video a couple years back, but was wondering If I could ask you a question regarding companies that specialize in moving *&,* *most importantly,* *help with packing things up into boxes and/or moving things onto PODs moving containers, securely, in Ga. Although we have moved a good bit so far, we still have a good bit of stuff that I need help with packing and moving b/c the deadline to be out of the house that we're currently in is by April, 21st and I'm the only one doing everything (in regards to packing & moving our stuff to the pods. My mother [74 years old, bless her hart] Helps as much as she physically can, but I try to tell her not to b/c of her age, health and that fact that she has lower lumbar scoliosis, Witch does not go over well when your mother is, and I mean this with love... A strong woman, but stubborn as all hell, haha). I'm not toooo far away from you (Athens, Ga,... Witch is, I think, about an 1 - 2 hours away from Athens) and I was wondering if you know any moving companies that are efficient, trustworthy, not on drugs (had problems in the past with that) and, less importantly... That wont break my wallet. This question goes out to anyone else reading this. If you have any answers and would share them with me, I would very greatly appreciate it. : )
    P.S. Thanks for making this video, Karin! SUBBED!

      I'm afraid I don't have a recommendation for a specific moving company. I'd just say to interview a bunch and choose the one that seems to have the best policies, even if it's not the least expensive. Good luck!

    • @georgiacoasthomes

      If you sell the house the mortgage gets paid off so that doesn’t hurt your credit. If you keep the house and rent it out that’s ok too as long as you aren’t skipping mortgage payments.

    I wish I saw this video before I moved in April. Got fooled by all the great reviews of International Van Lines. Got totally ripped off. The movers showed up in budget rental trucks and wanted 6 thousand more to move me than their estimate, since I paid 25% upfront which was now un refundable. I was screwed. Checked the better business bureau and they had many complaints for the same riff off. The bbb had also had good reviews for this company which I realize now are fake. Company buys reviews and puts them all over the internet.

    alright, i got a left fielder for ya... i do a private haunted house every year here in cali, and the bulk of that is, 55 wall panels weighing each, 50 pounds. with inflation the way it is, and junk hauling the way it is - would it be cheaper to haul them from here to texas, possibly requiring another truck, or just rebuild out there? i, and i stress this highly, i CANNOT deprive any neighborhood of my haunt. it's too fun, too many smiling faces. all the gizmos and shit that goes in there take up like 9 bins, that's fine. alright Mrs. Master of Moving, there's my curve ball. ;)

    I have a question..If I keep a credit union account in the state Im moving from (I want to get away from their income taxes) does that make me to be still considered a "Resident" of that state even though Im selling my home and moving away?

    • @rachels2066
      @rachels2066 Год назад

      Not at all. Resident refers to where you reside. You can have a bank account in every state in the country but where you physically live is the one thing that determines your state of residence. The only exception to this is if you are military.

      @Addison Clark why do you keep posting this on comments? MANY who live in California are extremely conservative. Contrary to what you THINK about California. And perhaps people are moving to conservative states to be around likeminded people and OUT of the blue politics. Comments like this (which I get your train of thought) are not necessary. Go after the politicians who freely open boarders to migrants. Are you making sure they are voting conservatively as well?

    i have no money to move, never owned a home, but we want to leave california because there is no medical freedom here, the pediatricians are also NOT flexible, they all have government in their pockets and when the pandemic hit, I should've known it was time to move but we roughed it out... but now, with our children, we want to move to a state that has more religious freedom and not so tyrannical. So, I am mentally preparing myself to move, and contemplating taking nothing with me but our kids and our paperwork and just buying new furniture in the new state.

    • @georgiacoasthomes
      @georgiacoasthomes  2 месяца назад +1

      Sometimes I think that’s the way to go! Just sell everything and replace it when you get to your destination. If it’s going to cost you $20,000 to move cross-country, you could probably replace most of your furniture for that.
