Jessica Franklyn we moved 10 yrs ago, and at the time, upack was the most cost effective for the size space that we needed. I’ve heard great things about pods as well but they were much more expensive at the time for all that we needed to move. Of course I haven’t priced any of them lately, lol, so I have no idea. Good luck with your move!

I strongly recommend that you use someone other than U-Pack. We had a trailer delivery scheduled many weeks in advance. We had scheduled movers for the following day to load the trailer. On the DAY OF the trailer delivery, U-Pack called to tell us that no trailers were available and that we would have to reschedule. This is completely unacceptable as it threw our entire moving schedule into disarray. Thank for this, it is such a thorough review. I have never had to move across country but I’m helping family and this will be so much better than the original plan
We're moving to TN from IN and looked at several of these services. We decided to just buy a cargo trailer so we'd have all the time we need to pack it, move it and then we'll have all the time we need to unpack it as well. We already have a buyer for the trailer at the price we paid for it and we haven't even moved yet. So other than gas, we'll have no cost in the move. Of course we're not taking an entire house either, but will make two trips... :-)
I really appreciate the video. We were recently looking at options and wow the prices with U-pack are amazing compared to some quotes we received, thank you
Thanks very much for the video. I have been looking into PODS but came across your video. 2 - 16' PODS would cost me about $7900, while a full U-Pack trailer would cost about $6000. The only difference is the amount of time you have to load/unload. U-Pack would seem like the way to go if we can get organized enough to load within 3 days and actually have a finalized place to move to where we can unload to.
I remember you not long ago getting ready to move and you all are not moving again are you. Thankfully, while in the Air Force I was single and didn't have to worry about moving all my property.

Good idea using the missionaries for the free labor haha. Question on the upright piano though, the ramp looks grated and not friendly on anything wheeled especially the small upright piano wheels. How did you get it in?

We had to rent the largest truck they had (4 bedrooms, office, kitchen, living room & dining room). We had a month to pack & it was tough with the kids. We also rented a trailer for our 2nd vehicle to tow behind the truck. Good Luck in your move!

I've moved about that many times in the last few years too. When I move again I'll definitely look into u-pack. Can you give an idea of how much u pack costs?
At Upack's website (use Kristen's link in More section), you can get an immediate estimate by answering 4 easy questions: From? To? When? Number of bedrooms? I also highly recommend this moving company if you have people to help you load and unload the trailer. The trailer in this video is a standard 53-footer, but they may have shorter ones.
