- Here is a playing of the winners circle/bonus round. Florence Henderson from "The Brady Bunch" gives out the clues. They are playing for $10,000. Dick Clark hosts.
Florence lucked out big time on not getting zapped on "Parts of the Arm" as she moved her left arm to show her elbow. I remember when the late Nathan Cook got zapped giving clues to (then soon to be $100k winner) Marilyn Evans on "A Belly Dancer Says It," by moving around in his chair.
LadySpindrift Yeah I saw Florence's gesture about that! Maybe the judge was taking a drink of his/her coffee at the time and didn't notice it until a replay or something, LOL.
LadySpindrift Saying “your heater” for “things that keep you warm” is also kind of borderline
LadySpindrift I saw what you saw. Two things I might have buzzed. Heat and warm I’m pretty sure are synonyms and the gesture with her arm...
@yandrsupreme Maybe not grammatically but in the eyes of the judges... They draw their own rules.
@@marioyoung2645 noun and adjective
She gave very good clues.
Epic! Got here from a very sad misogynic twitter thread, to find this joyful gem. Yay! Well done to both of these intelligent ladies!
Heat and Warm might not be synonymous, heat is a noun and warm is an adjective. Perhaps they let it go. Florence in her first week of Pyramid in December 1982 helped give away over $50K, she got to the WC nine out of ten games that week. Tom Reilly of Chips got there only one that week.
Florence was great!! It was like she pinpointed the clues specifically.
Arent heat and warm synonyms
@@Chainsawslots Yes, and I’d have buzzed her on the first box, too, for giving a physical clue
Yes on the arm movement, no on the heater. Heaters keep you warm. It fits the category as a noun.
"Things on a Marquee"? Sounds like a question you'd find on "The $100,000 Ivy League Pyramid" game show.
Terrific clues given by a wonderful lady R I P Florence!!!!!
"A star's name"....wow that contestant got it after that clue?! High IQ
It doesnt matter if heat and warm are synonymous, heater is not synonymous with warm. And a heater keeps you warm. Correct call was made.
parts of speech
An impressive $10,000 win!! It's from the original "Pyramid" show with Dick Clark.
Florence looks at and moves her arm. Surprised she wasn't buzzed (?)
That's what I was thinking too.
A great win but the contestants husband should have hugged Florence, she was marvelous!!!!!
*WASN'T SHE??*
@@jmiller297 Absolutely!!!!!
Back when $25k was alot of money. And she won $10k! She can pay her credit card bill.
They should have buzzed Florence when she moved her arm and looked at it.
RIP FLORENCE !!!
She had bedroom sexy hair here.
Love you, "Mrs. Brady..." ❤❤❤❤
I believe this contestant was on PYL in 1985 but lost to Steve.
RIP Florence Henderson 😞
Florence came through in the clutch again!
Mrs. Brady got me nervous there with the arm movement and looking down at her arm. Technically not allowed.
Captain Killjoy would not have been pleased when Florence looked at her arm.
Captain Killjoy here... "heater" should've never been acceptable for "Things That Keep You Warm."
Madam Lucky here... "Things an immigrant might like" a phrase book... easy job... you guessed it "blanket" also an acceptable answer for "Things That Keep You Warm"
Heater is something that keeps you warm. Fits the category. Permissible.
@@georgehellerman9344 Not in this instance, because the root word "heat" is synonymous with "warm". They were usually pretty consistently heavy-handed with the buzzer on synonyms.
