It's so surreal to be randomly browsing youtube, getting recomended a random video from someone you've never watched and then all the sudden realise that the video you are watching is from the city you live in and the school you graduated from half a year ago.

Wow Swedish teens seems very mature for their age, and at the same time they seem very funny and transparent. In my country I would've never imagined having a conversation like that with someone of my age in my public high school, it's more like everyone was trying to be cool and "interesting" showing masks instead of they actual personality and pretending their preferences just to be accepted. No one prior to him mentioned religion or any topic related to religion with a single word, yet here he is. That kind of unasked for proselytism is illegal in my country if I don't remember wrong. When the Mormons etc come here for missionary work at least they *ask* if we wish to hear more about the topic instead of starting spreading that poison outright. And I'll say no thank you and move on. This guy, insults me and everyone else in this thread with his behavior. We've faught *wars* over freedom to pick our own life stance and not have anyone else push their religion onto you here in Europe. That has created certain taboos in many countries that he most definitely has violated. If he was saying that to me in person here and I had witnesses or a recording I *would* be calling the police. Unfortunately in this context this is a American platform so I'm not sure what the laws regarding nonconsensual missionary work is. But legal or not this most definitely is ethically wrong.
I've smiled during the whole video. It's so wonderful to have an opportunity to see the world and communicate with people around it. There is you, Max, living in America and filming a video in Sweden. And there's me, sitting home in my country of Kazakhstan. The world is a wonderful place that is being destroyed by bad people. Wow your education systems are soo good, you guys learn freely, teach freely , think freely , your country is a blessing man . I am enough in everything in my country . The education is like suiciding the students, it is not friendly , schools like factories . I am so overwhelming when i see videos like these . I always wish that i can live in countries like yours.
We might have one of the best education systems in the world, but it's not perfect or near perfect, it's still based on the same outdated systems every other school in the world is built on.
I must say that this video is one of my favourites of you. I loved how you were able to caught the ordinary life of people from another country. A video about a school day it's like your signature, but you did much more than that. I loved how these people were playing, having fun, talking about life in general and really enjoying themselves. You are in a very priviledge position, to be able to experience that and at the same time, share it with us. It's a beautiful remider that it doesn't matter were you come from, we have more things in common that we thought. I hope I can go to Sweden someday. Cheers Max.

wtfff i dont think ive watched a video this long and smiled during the whole thing. Idk why but the scene at the gym playing hiding seek almost made me cry, it reminded me a lot of a time when I did the exact thing with a group of friends and I even had the plan of hiding outside the gym to trick a person LOL Max, if ur reading this, I loved the way you shared this event, it was raw and as unfiltered as it needed to be to really create this sense of connection to where you were. Overall 10/10!

I am amazed at the wonder of Swedish public schools, in my country literality all the public schools are three rooms with the deteriorated dirty faded walls and the moldy wooden floor in the entrance.

Kalmar!! I didn't grow up there. But this is my paternal grandmothers home town. So for me.. Kalmar has always been connected with summer, fun.. And meeting my cousins who all live there. If I am not mistaken. This was Lars Kaggskolan. It used to be a naval school. That tower simulates the bridge and observation deck of large naval ships or cruise vessels and the students meant to be captains would study navigation up there.

I saw a comment here about Swedish teens being mature, but I can't find it anymore. I agree, even (maybe especially) compared to Finland. Reading these comments have really put a different perspective to swedish schools for me as a swedish high schooler. Everyone is so disappointed when it comes to school in sweden even though it feels like people from other countries have great respect for the swedish school system.
I know this was posted a while ago, but Iv been through the USA and Swedish schools and like the swedish system definielty has it flaws, for me: intrinsic motvation felt like the only that could get you good grades. But compared to the USA, you are on average more educated and more indepdent. For me personally, it was like going from feeling like I was respected and allowed to make my own choices in grundskola, to being confied in what looks like a prison, fully equpied with locked external doors, police, yellow buses, and a death stare from teachers who see you walking the halls towards the restrooms during break. Oh not to mentiond the teachers who guard the bathrooms and check how many people are in there at once... yeah needless to say, the envy is real. College life is pretty similar tho. Also, not to mention, gym class (before highschool) in sweden involves actually having fun, in the USA, we run around and do pushups and are given like 5 mins to change.
Swedish school system has its flaws and can be improved but it's still better than much of the world. There are a lot of trolls on the internet who make it their mission to trashtalk everything about Sweden

This video made my face hurt from smiling too much. The students seem so wholesome, funny, and kind. A particular part of the video that made me outright laugh was this part here: ( 10:35 ) where they were telling you what the school was serving them for lunch. "Kyckling med Kuk, serverad med fis" translates to "chicken with d*ck, served with farts" LMAO. It was especially funny to me because I speak Swedish.

When I was in High School by far the most precociously mature well mannered coolest students were from Europe, specifically Germany, Sweden, England, France, Austria, Denmark, Spain, and Italy .... They were quite disappointed by how most of the American students were rude and insulting to both the staff ,other students , and obsessed with themselves aka narcissism
i like how the girls seem more shy in the beginning but later they're more relaxed and silly. I'd be the same way if I was to have someone follow me around
For me being Swedish this was fun to watch because I actually go to an international school in Sweden so I had fun watching this because I got to see how Swedish speaking schools are even though I do have Swedish lessons and I mean by that like instead of English class it’s Swedish speaking class.
Well fun fact i live ouside of Kalmar and i acctually know what the wierd white tower is/was for, at least what is was used as before they built a new one. It was used by the university in Kalmar to simulate a ship deck for students who study shipping.

I must say that this video is one of my favourites of you. I loved how you were able to caught the ordinary life of people from another country. A video about a school day it's like your signature, but you did much more than that. I loved how these people were playing, having fun, talking about life in general and really enjoying themselves. That tower simulates the bridge and observation deck of large naval ships or cruise vessels and the students meant to be captains would study navigation up there.

I agree, even (maybe especially) compared to Finland. Even if they sometimes behave childish, like we all do, they're surprisingly sophisticated people. Love it.

Reading these comments have really put a different perspective to swedish schools for me as a swedish high schooler. Everyone is so disappointed when it comes to school in sweden even though it feels like people from other countries have great respect for the swedish school system.
I know this was posted a while ago, but Iv been through the USA and Swedish schools and like the swedish system definielty has it flaws, for me: intrinsic motvation felt like the only that could get you good grades. But compared to the USA, you are on average more educated and more indepdent. For me personally, it was like going from feeling like I was respected and allowed to make my own choices in grundskola, to being confied in what looks like a prison, fully equpied with locked external doors, police, yellow buses, and a death stare from teachers who see you walking the halls towards the restrooms during break. Oh not to mentiond the teachers who guard the bathrooms and check how many people are in there at once... yeah needless to say, the envy is real. College life is pretty similar tho. Also, not to mention, gym class (before highschool) in sweden involves actually having fun, in the USA, we run around and do pushups and are given like 5 mins to change.
Swedish school system has its flaws and can be improved but it's still better than much of the world. There are a lot of trolls on the internet who make it their mission to trashtalk everything about Sweden

This video made my face hurt from smiling too much. The students seem so wholesome, funny, and kind. A particular part of the video that made me outright laugh was this part here: ( 10:35 ) where they were telling you what the school was serving them for lunch. "Kyckling med Kuk, serverad med fis" translates to "chicken with d*ck, served with farts" LMAO. It was especially funny to me because I speak Swedish.

That "airport like " tower is there casu that used to be the merchant Marine academy of Kalmar. I used to be a student there a long time ago. we used the tower for astronomic navigation.

When I was in High School by far the most precociously mature well mannered coolest students were from Europe, specifically Germany, Sweden, England, France, Austria, Denmark, Spain, and Italy .... They were quite disappointed by how most of the American students were rude and insulting to both the staff ,other students , and obsessed with themselves aka narcissism
i like how the girls seem more shy in the beginning but later they're more relaxed and silly. I'd be the same way if I was to have someone follow me around
For me being Swedish this was fun to watch because I actually go to an international school in Sweden so I had fun watching this because I got to see how Swedish speaking schools are even though I do have Swedish lessons and I mean by that like instead of English class it’s Swedish speaking class.

Well fun fact i live ouside of Kalmar and i acctually know what the wierd white tower is/was for, at least what is was used as before they built a new one. It was used by the university in Kalmar to simulate a ship deck for students who study shipping.
