Hiya, maybe you can do another update video on r56 preventative mods and upgrade paths. I know you have in the past but the car and other cars with the N14 lump are becoming really affordable for young drivers in the UK now. There may be more things that you have learnt that can help us out.
@@ProjectMini lolol well that’s great to know brother I hope all has been going well or at least okay for you. Love all the content. I went from n14 r56 to r53 now. Hopefully we see some new content from you in the near future. It helps out a lot of us
@Project Mini Definitely hope for new content, granted new content means more problems unfortunately lol, nature of the beast unless you help fix other people's issues. I can say I didn't know there was a rumor about your death but I almost assumed it based on the last video and how there's no follow-up. Glad to see my immediate thought was wrong. Anyway God bless.
i think i have rod knock but im not sure, at idle its fine but when I accelerate in gear i get the sound but to me it sounds like its the timing chain slapping against the inside timing cover rail. Im just trying to be optimistic in a way to not accept the inevitable.
I am having a pressure issue in my 2012 mini cooper it seems the engine pressure is really high and causing oil in the air intake hoses along with leaking out of gaskets.. do you have any idea what i can check to see why there is a pressure buildup ?
I think I've read its possible to do it on the 2007 mini r56 n12, but sure yet( doing the job without removing the engine).... I think I got a bad bearing on rod cylinder 1. it would save money doing it instead of swapping engine , would it save me many hours of work ?! thanks
Good moring Sir, I'm having issue on my 2010 Mini cooper s, showing on my obd2 code P1497 downstream air leak. Any idea on how to fix this problem please. And also once i open the engine oil cap or oil dip stick it has a strong suction/vacuum. Thank you so, From down here in South Florida.
I know this is off topic, but do you have any suggestions on upgrading a clutch on a 2010 R56? My R56 is an N14 and has a little over 300 hp to the crank. My goal is 500 eventually. Do you have any suggestions on the clutch I should get, and do I need to upgrade the gears somehow, or just the cluthc?

My R53 also spun a bearing. The crank doesn’t look too bad but I’m not sure if I can reuse it. I’m gonna measure tolerances on the crank this week. What should I look for to make the right choice on how to go about this? I don’t want to have to pull the motor and if I can save the crank and bearing journals on the rod I’ll be happy
@@ProjectMini awesome thanks for that reassurance. I’m gonna be checking the crank pin diameter with a micrometer later today to make sure it’s still within spec. The bearing disintegrated and that what I’m most worried about is I don’t know if the rod bearing journals are damaged or what even caused the failure
Hey bro haven't heard from you in a while. Hope your ok. Are you sick, or are you still gonna make RUclips videos?
I was wondering the same thing- hope he's ok
@@Minicoup58tv really? How? How do you know, that's do sad

No, i don’t know how that rumor got started 😂

I’m glad that my 05 R53 is sounding like this, especially the supercharger 😅Is it possible to just top up oil a bit on the front reservoir only?
Where are you man?
What's the status? How long does this cure lasts?
was there a sound at the beginning? or is it mini specific?

Also any recommendations on how to clean out the oil passages to prevent metal particles from getting to places they shouldn’t be?
If you can get a mirror finish on the crank and rods when you polish it and are still in tolerance when you measure everything, you should be good.
