The concepts here are gold! The concept not letting your limb “pass the wall” reminds me of not crossing the center line in BJJ…otherwise, you’re in danger of submissions but in this case it’s disarms 👌
Happy to see the similarities between BJJ and FMA. Even though one focuses on what specific area, there are similarities in concepts across all forms of martial arts (footwork, positioning, angles, etc.)
Glad it was helpful! We're all for using different tools to help student's learn as well. Sometimes when you put sticks on the floor, you tend to kick them around by accident, messing up the triangle in the process.
Very possible but please keep in mind that the opponent wouldn't be standing still, if I turn my back its because the opponent is trying to stop stick arm by checking it, once my opponent applies pressure, is when I collapse my arm and then strike.
I've been doing AFC for a little bit and a lot of the concepts are useful especially since sparring tends to get close range so this is a useful tool to keep in mind.
Exactly that. I was about to say"Hey, it's that 4 strikes combo called tumba tumba"? So now question is, tumba tumba is just the rocking on top or the 4 hit sequence?
Hello Covert Expertise... The 3/4 strikes are indeed the tumba tumba which of course is the top of the head. The 4th strike is a flywheel to the face and or shoulder.
Good fundamental footwork but i hate it when instructors are leaving their unoccupied hand hanging loose on the side. That's one of the first things that we're taught to me and i teach my students. Always hold your hand up.
Hello Redeyez Genoc, at first I too found it disconcerting to see the other hand just hanging there. But once you get deeper into the AFC style, where you are checking with the weapon arm. Keeping a profile or bladed stance lessens the surface area to be hit.

Great explanation and breakdown Guro Francis. Like how implemented the different color cones as training tools for beginners.

Thank you, the teaching tools we have now as compared to when I was training has made teaching a little easier.
Fundamental footwork for CQC. Speaking from experience
Agreed. Footwork, base structure and mobility.
100% Agree
Thanks sir 🙏
No problem.
I especially like how you tie in the footwork and the strikes using the cones. Great teaching technique!
thanks.... I try
Glad it was helpful! Feel free to reach out to Guro Francis if you have any more questions.
Awesome 😎 👏🏾👏🏾 Francis! Thank you for sharing these fight range concepts I love ❤️ it.
Glad you enjoyed! Feel free to contact him if you have any questions.
Interesting footwork and striking patterns. But aren’t you vulnerable with the reverse hammer strike when you turn your back towards the opponent?
I'm sure there's a purpose to that movement and strike, but that would have to be a question for Guro Francis to answer.

Great training, Guro!
@@reaganroach4178 thank you

Glad that you found value in AFC and it's concepts. Especially at close range, we found this approach to be interesting.
Very nice videos fma pulse
Appreciate it. We're just the medium to deliver information.

@@FMASCHOOL thank you for clearing that out.
