- Usually the females chase mature bucks away from the herd, but Yoda is the son of the herd's matriarch, Eva, and he's still young enough that she lets him hang out. Maybe it's also because he's so mellow. This deer herd knows us well because we've been living on their land since before Eva was born, so all the deer know the tasty clover yard is a safe haven.

Oh I know. Animals are a great calm for us, a beautiful gift we have in life. I could curl up and relax among them all day. They know friendly souls live there, so don't mind hanging out there. If I could get my paws on some property, I would so invite all the creatures to come find rest there. You get a bit of the sense of inner care/love all animals are capable of in things like this.

Subscribing to everything you said except for the last sentence. There is no need to infuse religious belief in what in fact is a spiritual reality, something completely distorted in the god religion. Yes, the universe is all energies. Our thoughts and our feelings are energies, reason why animals can read us with ease. The god of religion is a composite fictional character. Belief systems are meant to limit our awareness of that, an awareness that would make us powerful and free. The institution of religion, with its focus on god worshiping, was created to help the rulers of the planet keep humans trapped within a false perception of reality, including of the real reality of who they truly are.

Worshiping the God, actually the Gods of religion (Speaking of whoever/whatever God might be, most people do not realize there are many gods in the Bible, Torah, and Quran; these are the entities behind the experiment we know now as civilization Earth) or the Source for that matter, is pointless. This habit was instilled in the people's mind through an act of deception perpetrated on them with the help of the institution of religion, the intent being to psychologically manipulate the masses into becoming dependent of those human-like Gods and obey an illusion of authority religious institutions claiming to be representing the gods on Earth have this way illegitimately acquired.

I used to believe in Reincarnation and Karma when I was in my late teens and up to age 25. I feel like my heart would just explode if I was able to have the chance of petting a baby deer.
We feed deer every evening in our backyard. It backs up to a forest but neighbors are close by. Our wild deer have names too. I wish we were able to sit with then like you. They are getting braver as time goes on.
Animals sense when there is a beautiful and loving soul, that's why they're gathering in your yard.
Amen they do seem to know so much about us... Our moods, our health, our intentions towards them. God's wonderful creation.

I had a similar encounter when I was a kid, at my grandparents house in the mountains. I had to stay very still in order to gain the young bucks trust, in order to feed it by hand and pet him. It was the most amazing feeling.

I disagree. It's not a "You have it or you dont" type of thing, it can be learned by everyone. Some people may already have that affinity. But it can be learned it's not something that's so non-linear.

These folks are so lucky to have nature like this come and visit THEM! These deer know they are protected there, and that the people are kind and mean no harm. God Bless them for taking such good care of the herd. I wish I was there, even for just 5 minutes! I've never petted a deer, and would love the chance just once.
