Just unboxed 2 new guitars in the last 6 weeks, SJ 200 Original custom and Martin D35 sunburst reimagined. Like a 10 year old on Xmas day. It makes the world go around. Great video my friend.
@@dibuccio That is fantastic to hear, and the 45 so comfortable to play. Enjoy your amazing guitar, try to keep it at all costs, it will serve you well! Happy New Year my friend.
Massive thanks my Gibson brutha. I’m truly freakin loving this guitar so much that I haven’t even looked at another guitar since I got it. Those are some serious words I just put out! Music stores beware...
@@Roosterscoope That was the first thing that got my intention. It looks like it could be ebony, but it’s just a super dark slab of rosewood. It really pops off the body and makes it more interesting to look at. I am mainly and primarily a bass player first, and I use calligraphy ink on my rosewood fretboards on my music man basses. Wipe it on, let it dry for 10 mins, and wipe it off. And it last about a year before I have to do it again. There are a ton of vids on YT about ebonizingwood. It’s super easy if you ever want to try it...
Gorgeous! I came close to buying a J45 but I went for a Gibson Songwriter instead with a caramel sunburst and it plays and sounds amazing! Nobody does sunbursts like Gibson! I also considered a Martin D28 but they knocked the price way out of the park. I still want a J45 though and I'll get one for sure. Congrats and enjoy every minute of it!
Massive thanks sir. WoW. I love those songwriters, my buddy has one and it amazing. I had a D28 and an HD28 and a D35, sold them all. I really, really, really tried to love them. But, at the end of a long day and training my ear, I realized that I prefer the Gibson sound over the Martin sound. Martin has a mid range scoop that I know understand I don’t like. I like a strong pronounced midrange and Gibson has it. And yes, no one on this planet does bursts like Gibson. It’s been a fun, long and very educational journey and I’ve owned tons of beautiful guitars along the way, but I think I found “the one” .
@@dibuccio I picked up aa 2004 Songwriter about 3 months ago - I absolutely love it..so much tone across the spectrum and a joy to play...Hard to believe they are still so unknown to a lot of players.. Agree with you re:Martin...Bought an OM-28e 2 years ago and a 00-15m...Gave the Mahogany guitar to my niece (she loves it) and I'm getting ready to sell the OM...The Gibson sound is the definitive acoustic sound for me. (Also own a '46 LG-2 and a mid-50s L-50).... Congrats on that beauty, it's awesome!!...that's my next acoustic guitar purchase, somewhere down the line...

@Jermaine Zaid Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
What a lovely looking and sounding guitar for sure! Yes, I sure do want a J45 for sure but I just don't have that kind of money and can't afford it lol. Maybe someday.
WoW. I’m very impressed with that store. I hope it’s an amazing one. Gibson acoustics seem to be on point in the last couple of years. They really have dialed it in!
Congratulations! I love watching the excitement of opening up a new Gibson. It reminds me of when I bought my 2019 J45 standard. That's my only guitar, and it will be a one-owner guitar till the day I pass on. If you don't use the pickup, I recommend taking it out. I removed mine yesterday and I like the extra bit of resonance.
It really is a stunning guitar. It’s keeper. Ive had so many other guitars over the years and they almost pleased me. But, not in the long run. This one just feels like home. I wish I started with a J45 years ago. It would have saved me a lot of guitar trading.
Very very nice love unboxing guitars I don't have any gibson's can't afford them all my guitars are good quality i seven guitars and there all left handed that's what I am
Hello buddy. I am from Russia, I would very much like to order the same, unfortunately they do not sell it in my country. You can give a link where you bought )))
Just bought a used 2021 standard off reverb for 2000.00. The guitar was set up horrible , almost unplayable , probably the reason they sold it . Took me maybe a half hour to adust the trust rod , file bridge and change strings . Plays and sound beautiful now .
Honestly, I’ve never played a G-45 so I can’t say from my own experience. But, I have a friend who owns both and said the walnut is a bit brighter sounding than the mahogany. If you can play both side by side, that would be the best answer.
@@dibuccio cheers man yeah good idea I’ll try them side by side when I can get to the guitar store. I own a G-45 which I’m really impressed with but like a kid in a candy store I’m looking at maybe something like yours😊
I’m not even sure you can buy a new model without a pickup. It’s always better to have the pickup for resale if you ever decide to sell it off. Other than that, if you’re not performing live, then there is no reason to have it installed. But, being a purist still shouldn’t detour you from getting a guitar if you find one you love and it happens to have a pre installed pickup...
New Gibson acoustics are so unimpressive it’s mind blowing, any Martin blows them out of the water, you have to go vintage for Gibson acoustics and then still have to find the “right one”. I’ve played dozens of these new j-45s and put them down immediately.
@@liamgallagherrr Same here. Especially living in Los Angeles, we are gifted with a ton of super high end guitar shops. And I’ve tried countless J45s over the years. 1 strum and back to the rack. But this one just spoke to me in a way that I was always searching for. So far, everyone in my circle that has played it has been WoWed. And that has not been the case for my last dozen acoustics. Again, it’s all in the owners perception, but this one seems to be more unanimous with my crowd. Who’s to say. I’m happy. Funny thing is, I took a chance and ordered it online sight unheard and I just hit the musical lottery. What kind of guitar are you currently playing?
I think the looks/build quality very good but you're right, the sound varies very much from guitar to guitar. One has to play em first before buying but that's not always possible. I once played a standard 45 that blew a Custom Shop 45 out of the water, another 45 that was just ok, and so on. All in all the Gibson J45 is an amazing guitar, especially as the players work box.
She’s a beauty. Good luck with her. I love mine, purchased in 2014
Congratulations, I was so happy when I got mine 2012, and am blown away still everyday I play it
