EXCELLENT!!! Cool original 1968 video....great upload...thanks!!! SONG WRITTEN BY A YOUNG BOB DYLAN!!! This was one of those songs I discovered when I was just a young kid in a small town in NEW ENGLAND....where the radio station never played rock music!!! LOL It seemed like nobody in my town knew anything about the music I was LOVING...nobody except my little ten-year-old self!! WOW (and I'd been hearing rock music since the Beatles had arrived on the scene...had a front-row seat for the "BRITISH INVASION" when I was really little....I JUST KNEW I WAS ONTO SOMETHING SPECIAL....AND IT WAS MY BIG SECRET!!! I had to go to bed at 7PM on school nights (I know...I know LOL)....but my grandparents did me a BIG FAVOR by sending me to bed early...because EVERY NIGHT: instead of SLEEPING ON SCHOOL NIGHTS...I HAD MY TINY TRANSITOR RADIO HIDDEN UNDER MY PILLOW...and that earbud was solidly affixed to my tiny ear....and for YEARS DURING THE SIXTIES AND EARLY SEVENTIES all that great music playing on AM radio stations at night was drifting east across the country from New York (WKBW and WNEW); and and even further from the West Coast when the weather conditions were just right (CALIFORNIA!!! YAY!!...I knew about the "Summer of Love" back in 1967...where I lived that was still a BIG SECRET!!! LOL). THOSE GREAT SONGS WERE ROCKING MY LITTLE TEN-YEAR-OLD WORLD (and even when I was younger...BEATLES AND STONES AND R&B...OH YEAH!!!!) I knew all the songs and all the words.....and my grandparents never did find out where I had heard all those songs I was singing and dancing to around the house!!! :D By the SEVENTIES I HAD MY OWN PHONOGRAPH PLAYER...and THAT WAS IT!!! I WAS A SOLIDLY INFORMED ROCKER FROM THE GET GO!!!!! LONG LIVE ROCK n' ROLL!!!! PEACE & LOVE!!! ~RED ☮♥♫
blondwiththewind Great memories, I use to do the same over in England. Tucked up in bed and under the covers in the 60s with my radio and earphone listening to radio Luxembourg.
Funny how rock music unites youth the world over!I used to do the exact same thing in Athens, Greece from the mid-60s until the early 70s, that is hiding my transistor radio under my pillow and listening to music till the wee small hours of the morning. God only knows how I made it to school the next day!
They were coming off a largely unsuccessful year in the UK charts (1967), in which they only released 3 singles (including "Ha! Ha! Said the Clown" (March 1967), an instrumental cover of Tommy Roe's "Sweet Pea" (May 1967), and the Randy Newman-penned "So Long, Dad" (September 1967)).
Manfred himself looks mightily pissed off - he'd rather be playing the blues and r'nb in a sweaty night club than this pop rubbish - excellent though it was. Intriguing how these 60's pop videos provide a window into a world as alien and distant as Victorian England.
the third manfred mann number one..there was doo wah diddy and pretty flamingo before that...semi detached suburban mr james and if you gotta go go now were number two`s. .....and sha la la 54321 ragamuffin man come tomorrow one in the middle ha ha said the clown fox on the run did well too.

I hear you. There's mini kit at hallmark with a turntable and records from three genres. Georgie Fame was a big favorite.

This was the end of the 60s music and the start of 70s. . .
Great video/film. Love the '60s shots of London and filming style, (including Monkees like choreography!) Fab and groovy!
Monkees stole that from The Beatles
Great promo and nice to see a variation on the existing Top Of The Pops clip!
Underrated drummer and composer was Mike Hugg...
This was the last video shown on VH1 Classic's The 60s Generation.
