I was one of the last members of the public to walk though it from bridgate to Clyde st they were finishing the gates at bottom and I was heading into work, at that time I was senior project worked in Hope House a homeless addiction centre run by the Salvation Army housing 92 men. I walked down Paddys market at least twice a day everyday for 17 years it broke my heart to see those gates erected.

I went in the 60 s aged 5 loved the ribs cabbage and the rice pudding my wee mum always after us
