SHR has been underperforming but they are not 2nd tier. There's a big difference. SHR has all the resources to make the cars where they need to be. This is not Rick Ware Racing where they don't have some of the equipment and people like you'd find at JGR or HMS. No, SHR has all the tools to turn this around. You don't have to go back very far to a time when the 4 team was absolutely dominant, winning 25% of the races on the schedule. That's not 2nd tier. SHR will win races and championships again. I think that will happen sooner than later. The past 2 years haven't been up to SHR standards, but nobody should expect this to continue 4 or 5 years. If that happened, fine, call em 2nd rate. Too soon for that now. We'll just have to wait and see.
@@gregvandy34 The 4 team with Kevin Harvick was dominant, not Josh Berry. Who is going to win championships at SHR beyond 2023? Briscoe and Berry are good but not elite drivers. They will have the worst lineup in the garage of teams with 3+ drivers.
Awesome driving by Josh Berry this year in cup, we’ll deserved. Tony definitely looks for talent of well deserved drivers. I think this will take Stewart haas to another level with having a fresh mind in the garage.

Glad to see true gritty racers can still make it big and not just the spoon fed ones. From someone that grew up at challenger , hell even lived there, and lernerville, puts a smile on my face.

As a dad grandfather I couldn’t help but notice how much attention he gave his daughter. Biggest day of his career and he made sure her dress was appropriate when she got out of the car.

Harvick's been my driver since 2000 when he drove the #2 car for RCR. Dale Sr. was obviously my fav in Nascar & Kevin was my fav in I believe it was still Bush Series at the time. Sad to see him retire but happy that Josh Berry is taking over the #4. Perfect fit! I wonder if Kevin will have any on going roll with SHR next year working with Josh. I realize he is also going to be in the broadcast booth as well.

I have never been excited to see a driver come into cup until today, let alone in a ford. Been watching him for years knowing he deserved this especially with how involved he gets with his cars. Loved to see him junior Motorsports but it’s time to move up! New favorite driver for me he’s going to kill it!
Hearing Kevin talk about making sure Josh was a good fit with the team is very promising to me. Having heard his stores of replacing Dale at RCR and the clash in personalities and way of doing things, it’s a good sign hearing he’s actively trying to avoid that.
I agree but it was different for Kevin Harvick to get in a car and replace a legendary driver that left to soon unexpectedly
Congratulations to Josh and his beautiful family for joining a great team. He will be a great mentor to some of the other drivers on the team. Stewart Haas racing seems like it would be a great team to work with and of course drive for. I loved watching Smoke in his racing years and I think he has so much to offer anyone that comes to work for them. Would love to see him in a few NASCAR races in the future. He’s only one of a few men around that come from the old school of racing and which so many of these young drivers could learn a thing or two from. Can’t wait to see Josh Berry in the 4 car and I hope we can see him in a few races before the end of the year. Once again, Congratulations to him and his family, they all deserve this opportunity !!!

Tony and Rodney and the boys made the right decision. Josh Berry is a special driver, a guy that has earned this opportunity and will make everyone around him better. Obviously he can drive, but he understands how the car works and what he needs, what changes need made to get the best results. They didn't hire Josh because he brings a big sponsor and all this backing. They hired him because you want the best driver in your car, you want to win. This is the best move SHR could have made.

Noticed the hats handed out did not have a blue oval ford logo on them. I know the contract is supposed to be close to expiring with ford and I’d really hope since Legacy Motor Club is switching to Toyota that maybe, just maybe, we could see SHR switch over to Chevy and get back to winning races. Also, there still could be a possibility of Dodge returning to NASCAR and Stewart does drive Dodge in NHRA.
Sounded like Tony left the door open for possibilities when asked about changing manufacturers.
Tony doesn't drive dodge in NHRA. That alcohol dragster does not have a manufacturer. The team he owns is Dodge because matt and Leha are dodge drivers. Tony can only drive Ford's. Dodge isn't coming back anytime soon
Im happy for him but wish he could have stuck with Team Chevy. 🤞 SHR turns things around to being a powerhouse again. Its nice to see someone make because they can drive and not just because they have connections to millions of dollars v

Probably wishful thinking, but everyone else wearing Polo shirt's has probably owned them for a while and they all have the Ford logo somewhere on them, Josh's is new and doesn't. 😉

Josh Berry is a great talent, but hes only really raced in TOP NOTCH equipment like Hendrick and the satellite company of Hendrick, JRM. Hes not even going to be remotely competitive in SHR equipment, no one in that entire organization is doing anything worth talking about. I wish he could’ve gotten in with a Chevy team..or even Toyota.
