I remember him coming to all the street dances on Water Street/ John Street in Allman Town. He was always with his boys and they were all riding bikes. They would just hang out, drink, dance and have a good time. The times he tried making eye contact with me (I was 17 y.o. and gorgeous), I would look away. I would stand on the inside of the wall surrounding my house and observe the happenings outside until I got bored and went to bed.

Willie Hogheart not Haggart, yes he had a vicious temper kicked elephant man in his backside one time. Dons usually stayed out of the limelight, but this don was overt.
Notice they attract large followings especially very attractive women. The tragic part of it is the aura around them that causes normally level headed educated persons to big them up. Dons are example of what not to become, yet three highly educated politicians bow at the feet of someone who normally they wouldn't even spit on in case he soiled their spit.
The politicians set the example for our young people to admire killers and drug dealers. Ironically dons like Hogheart and Dudus knowing that they missed out on having a good education frequently beat kids who absconded from school. They admire educated persons who chose a lifestyle they wished they had. Growing up in inner-city ghettos the dons knew,respected and admired those of us who chose a path of righteousness,education and lawfulness. In a strange way they are sorry that they were not given that opportunity. Vybz Kartel should have used his fame to uplift young people and not lead them astray. I will never big him up he is a huge letdown.

Truth be told - Skeng probably had the most power of any don... I guess that's why little is known about his original start. But I remember in the 80's - ALL the sound systems on the PNP side used to hail him up. I was a kid - but no one ever would talk about his start.

Sky juice was the selekta and big up Willie, Bogle and Steve. Rodigan maxfield don was here too. He salute Bogle, Willie and Steve. Steve and Rodigan shake hands and the don of sunrise crew show him respect just like willie and Bogle. If you notice the willie haggart memorial in 2008 on youtube , look at on the wall of the old willie shop. You can see the face paint tribut of the Don of the black roses, but on the top of the wall in the entrance you can notice it's name by "Steve roses". Which perhaps mean Steve maintain the business after Willie, Rema, Bogle, Ice gone for them travel on the other side. Steve with Blacka Shine was 2 last man of the original Black roses crew. Indeed you can see him with Ice in a Bogle tribut video. Steve was a tall solid guy. There is a few photo or video of him with Bogle , willie and ice but I think he was more careful and discreet just like Yankee. I don't really know how he died but right now the last man standing is Blacka Shine and maybe a few others. But Boysie is the 3rd generation in my opinion, even if we can see him dance with willie when him young (it's on youtube). Sometimes people put video but retire them because there's people still alive around and some investigation can started just with one video of you with the Don back in the dayz. Look at me I'm a random guy and I insterested myself to the black roses because I from a similar environment and it was important for my work as a writer and leader of community.
