  • Who is Loki? Was he a god? Was he ever worshipped? What is this entity's relation with fire? Let's explore these questions and much more. Come with me into the world of Loki throughout the ages :)
Note: Please, do pay close attention to the notes in this video, it contains useful information which I've carefully wrote to save video-time, otherwise this would have been a 2h long content. The bibliography I used to compose this work is at the end of the video itself.

@13:34 Throwing food on the fire is that like throwing fat on the fire where fat is salty like sweat of the skin and the inner eye is a salty secretion they call cerebral (if you like I'll show this word in the stars) fluid that is photo-reactive. The first thing that takes place in the embryonic stage is that a tiny piece skin is pinched off and becomes your nerves which your brain grows from plus others things but your eyes will pool up where your ears will grow where a pyramidal bone will later grow but flow across the face like a flood and take their place before a furrowed place where the pyramidal nose will grow and the eye will be cupped in twin cups made of 7 bones and in thy eye will find 3 golden pyramids called cones that capture the 7 colors of the rainbow and if you bind 3 7's 777 end to end they form a 60 degree triangle 666 and body is design by the triangle thy nick has 8 on it's own, oh by the way before the eye is complete another piece of skin is pinched off and becomes the crystal that catches the light and directs it to the golden egg

Cro Magnon Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately the issue I’m dealing with is... A bit more complicated than what tarot normally deals with.
Additionally, I do already have a bit of a gift. I have seen numerous visions of the future that did indeed come true. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of how to harness my gift, making it practically useless.

I was hoping that you would explore the connection between Logi, and Loki a bit further than that....
Logi being the Fire-God related to Fornjot, whose mythos became blended with the more popular knowledge/trickster "god", Loki, which in my opinion is where the fire element comes from, this may be the "Logathore" you mentioned, but your video is the first mention i have found of that name variant.
So i cannot be sure, but I would LOVE to see a video where you trace the origins of Kaari, Logi, Aegir, and Fornjotur, as these deities are found briefly in Norse mythos, but seem to originate from Finnish/Estonian Kaleva/Kalevi and the Kalevala, which seems to support their existence as historical figures who had been given supernatural properties. because regardless of the culture that documented it, there was records of a "Giant-King" who had godlike children and ruled Jotunheim and/or Kvenland around the same time period.
(Ironically and unrelated to Loki/Logi; Kalev the root name of the Kalevala, and Kalevi, is also the same as the biblical hebrew name for Caleb/Kalev who was known for wrestling giants and was given land by the Lord of Jerusalem, which its a stretch, but it does stimulate the curiosity as to whether or not there are connections there.

So as an ex-Christian germanic pagan, I associate this "entity" of fluid spirit as neither good nor bad, Loki the trickster. I am thrilled to connect with this spirit/energy. My struggle with this has been purely Christian influenced, I believe. I'm starting to understand, I think, why "Loki" has struck me even though I was focused on germanic practice generally speaking. I have to leave entirely the dualistic view behind. Easier said than done, but I'm giving it Hel. 😅

Thank you for another interesting video, Arith! I've read that in some very rural parts of Sweden this entity was most often refered to as "Odens dräng Loke" (Odin's servant Loki) and during the year he was sometimes given small offerings of seasonal food. Otherwise he might perform some mischief. But this was at least 150 years ago, and I don't think this custom is practiced anymore. As a kid, when hearing the Norse myths for the first time, Loki was always my favourite character, because his wit and humour so often got him in trouble, and because he has such complicated and mysterious personality... :-) Ha en bra dag!

Water can slake the fire, yet fire can evaporate the water (transformation/alchemy) into steam (ether and higher lucid sight regards to esoteric transformation) when controlled. Fire can provide warmth yet it can also burn your house down. The fire path of wisdom regards to the human psyche is important to respect i.e. there is wisdom, crazy wisdom and just crazy. So balance is a key pt worth noting whether literally or metaphorically analyzing this deity and associated runic significance. Awakening to the highest human potential involves eventual cessation of attachment the egoistic confines yet it can also 'fry the mind' for those who are too needy to remove the fetters that bind us to the more limited self reference pt's.

From the right perspective, one could say that Loki is the most powerful of the gods, in his ability to make his will manifest whether anyone likes it or not. If you won't play his game, he'll make you. And he'll have you actually choose to. I wonder if this is why the Trickster God is often the Creator God in some mythologies, especially Native American ones.

I've heard it said that Loki is ( or is derived from) a domesticated fire spirit where as Logi is the spirit of wild, untamed fire. Basically you really made a convincing case for that in this video. Won't elaborate don't want to overload you reading this lol. I am really grateful to you for your kind treatment of Loptr, Son of Laufey. He is unfairly maligned by those who fear change, and by those who are influenced, either consciously or unconsciously, by Semitic religions which obsess over an adversary figure and do not contain a differentiated Trickster figure, as most indigenous world religions do.
He is also a genuine and living spirit, a Divinity, with a discrete consciousness and clear identity. He is a wonderful, brilliant, creative and free being. In understanding Loki as more than just a mythological figure or a 'pagan adversary', we should behave as we do when we have heard malicious gossip about someone whom we do not actually know: we should ignore the gossip, and endeavor to look into impartial sources for information about them. Most of all, we should seek to contact them and get to know them as a person.
Loki is unfortunately also misunderstood due to the tremendous popularity of the Avengers movie franchise; though there are some elements of his character that are accuately portrayed by his fictional representative, He is so much more than this. He is also not Odin's child, but his brother - and some say, His other face. A blood brother is akin to a twin, and a twin is a mirror image of the self.
The Farose song(s) about him strongly suggest that he has a kind heart towards children; one could say a parental spirit, and this would extend towards not only children, but beasts as well.
I would also add that the people who call themselves 'Lokeans' may wish to rethink this self assignment. We should be careful when we take on a group identity. Loki is a God of freedom, who defies conformity, and when we asssimilate to a group, even one which worships him, we stand the risk of blinding ourselves to the potential for freedom. If we wish to know him, that path is best walked alone, just as He often does. Loki isn't an anime figure or a furry, He is a Divine being - a Holy being. He deserves the reverence that we offer to Gods, but I also would wager He does not want slaves.

If i remember correctly, The word for pine needles was the same word they used for pine resin which they used to start a fire. Together with a flint and steel (which you strike hard) they would make the contents of a tinderbox that everybody would have. The found such a tinderbox with resin still in it, in de glacier of landbreen, norway.
So loki is the son of pine resin, and flint and steel. Thus; fire.

Very interesting topic. The legends will tell us about the connections between the Spiritual beings, but we must remember that it is more important to actually experience Nature to properly understand the Old Gods as the Natural energies that they are. Books, legends, they can give us an idea, but they cannot give us the full perception like actual experience in Nature. Loki's association with the Oak tree, is very reminiscent of Veles being struck by lightning while stnding under an Oak tree by Perun, (Thor) in Slavic Paganism when he finally vanquishes him in their annual game when Veles steals from Perun which brings a hault to the fertile season. Perhaps if we look to Veles, we will understand more about Loki. Only difference is that Veles was and is highly respected as a God in Slavic Paganism. The idea of a wild Nature spirit that isn't worshipped as a God but has a vital importance is an interesting topic.

Going to dive into another amazing video of yours! I have been drawn to Loki for many years but resisted the pull. Finally, I started researching him in the last year and realized he is a diety I identify with more and more as I studied. He is responsible for my coming back to the spirituality of my ancestors. I am learning more each day as is my youngest daughter at 21. I have been pagan all of my adult life but have never felt such a connection as with the Norse pantheon, especially Loki and Hela. Thank you for lighting the path for myself and my daughter. She adores your videos as well. We have deep conversations often after watching them together though we are on slightly different paths.

Hello. I have something to share here. Shortly, I'll my experience walking through fire. I was sleeping just now and found this video. For years, I've wondered how I walked through fire twice. Barefoot both times. These were bonfires. High high flames. Not a camp fire. Bonfires. The first time was in the mountain. At a party. Sober but yet filled with energy, I found myself in trance. I was 18 or 19 years old then. A long time ago. I'm almost 40 now. That was night I wrecked and tumbled down a cliff. My driver was drunk. I was not but I had impaired judgement getting in the van with him which ultimately lead to my divine experience escaping death. My hands bloodied and slaughtered from the wreck I pulled myself out a 52 foot pit in pitch black dark. I had foreseen this wreck before hand. It's how I survived. I knew to cover my head with my hands and go fetal position while tumbling. My hands were slaughted by glass. When I walked through the fire people recorded me with camcorder. The tape itself was destroyed in the wreck in the van. It's a miracle I survived. I was in hospital for one week. My hand is haggard but I still use it. I'm a massage therapist and guitar player. That's inspiration to those I say never give up on your goals. My hand was spared as so was my life. Something came over me in that mountain that tranced me to walk through the fire. The second time was at another keg party. I was about the same age. Maybe 19 or 20. That time I was drinking but the same force took over me and again barefoot in shorts bare legs I walked through the high flames. I was never burned walking through fire but this second time my foot was cut by glass. Leaving bloody footprints everywhere and I didn't even know that until was told. I still don't know what came over me. I search internet but only find coal walking. I've asked around to magickians if they have ideas as to what came over me but they are not respond or same as I am not knowing as to why and how I was able to just walk through fire like I did.

loki is also associated with fire because of the myth of loki, thor and thialfi walking through jötunnheim, in which he has to face the fire and eat more food than the fire does :) that’s a great video. i’m very thankful and grateful to you for that! thank you!

Congrats on the kittens - we adopted 2 ourselves last month - Jack who's blind in one eye and May Belle, who has neurological problems from eating a salamander when a kitten. I think the story abut Loki and Lure was created to separate Loki from fire. Loki is suppose to be a representation of a satan/opposite of the "good" gods, but the household fire must have been important to people before electricity.

Since Loki seems to be a literary character, he has the characteristics of a court jester: able to say and do what he wants without repercussions from the king (Odin). He is used in literature as deus ex machina to tie things together when things do not make sense. The kittens are beautiful.

I learned a lot. I think you're onto some good ideas here, I disagree with the extent of a few, but overall I am left having to process and reevaluate the possibilities of this and my existing data and experiences with spirits.
Also, point you could have made...
Loki has no places of worship because they are the fire from Prometheus... So the fire of home was the place of worship.
The being in the fire, acting for him, was his child of sorts, a child of smokeless fire... And such beings, magickal ones, are said to be able to manipulate candles to speak to witch's and such, so, if Loki was indeed upset and was using Magick to spank the fire spirit, it would cause potential effects in fire, especially if the fire spirit was also making fire change from its reactions to the discipline.

  • @pageroks

If the land spirit of loke were fertility related then Loki being a companion of Thor would make sense. And if tied to fire it would explain Loki being tied to Surt. Edit: I should wait to the very end to comment. You addressed this lol.

Years back, at a job I used to work at, we had a large pile of wood shavings/chips/dust that had caught fire and had been put out. But the fire would erupt of it's own accord at times, and I was tasked every night to ride herd on this thing. Over time, I discovered the fire had a personality of it's own (not particularly pleasant) and it was like it was talking to me, taunting me. Had a sense of humor. Kinda spooky stuff, seeing this Loki work you've put together really makes me feel like I know him and now know his name.

I find it extremely interesting how you compare him with the christian devil, because (idk if you believe in deity work or not) but I was trying to start working with Lucifer when Loki came into my life. He pretended to be Lucifer, until after some research I could gather all the signs and discovered it was in fact Loki reaching out to me.
He even appeared in a dream as the Christian devil, and when I got startled, he hid behind a courtain, shape shifted into my sister and came out again, to avoid scaring me.
A lot of people see him to this day as an evil God, but the impact he's had in my life since I started working with him has been nothing but positive.
I just thought I should share... I appreciate all of your work greatly!!

REC: " Sir say Gift, Say Your Loki" in reverse you hear "Equuleus Pegasus"
Both are together in the sky as one and doing the same with Loki ki becomes Key and Lo becomes Loo or Lu meaning light meaning key to light or wisdom

I just watched this very interesting and informative video so I am a “little late to the party”. I have a few theories about Loki that I would like to share:
    1) perhaps there are no obvious signs of veneration or worship was because of fear. Up until very recent times other Norse pagans wouldn’t even allow the name Loki to be said/or mentioned in their presence. When you rely on community for survival it seems imperative not to become an outcast in anyway. Then with Christianity knocking down doors, the veneration/worship of a deity so very closely tied to Satan would definitely result in death. Better to keep things on a very private level in order to survive.

Hello dear Arith ..incredible your gone cat looks so much like our new tomcat Loki. Great topic today because our male new cat was named after my devine husband Shiva aka Loki. We didn't choose the names ourselves, but it was once again a gift of fate from Jesus aka Loki aka shiva.
Isn't it all wonderful. Your two little baby girls are very troll and I hope you enjoy being together as we are at the moment. Thanks for the new edition Arith - so fitting for me. Loki the unrecognized and yet greatest god that ever existed and will be. Namaste dear brother

@1:12:51 The Eternal flame here's one from India a old temple believed to be 1000 years old the Jwaladevi temple dedicated to Goddess Jwala Ji known as Sati (SALTY) the term Jwala means flame in Sanskrit Some say there are nine flames for the nine Durgas, Durga is a goddess of war, Durga is also a fierce form of the protective mother goddess, who unleashes her divine wrath against the wicked for the liberation of the oppressed, and entails destruction to empower creation. Maha Durga has three forms and Maha Kali is her sheath her skin and her consort is Mahakala which means a point where darkness and time meet, can you hear macalla in mahakala and then there is the dog star canicula (puppy dog) Lugh's hound whelp his son Setanta meaning 70 the number of days she hides below the horizon before returning with the flood. Setanta be the Irish hero Cuhullin who died tied to a rock or did he but they saw a crow pluck out his eye.
