Beautiful performance. There is actually a video here on RUclips with all 34 verses of the song (not by Myrkul, but still also a beautiful performance).
Yeah, it's about giants and dragons so I would assume it's older. I'm from Sweden🇸🇪 and our languages are similar enough for me to get the gist of it. There is some archaic words in the lyrics that I don't grasp, though. @@vanefreja86
And the cool thing is this isn`t something she came up with. The only real thing she has done different from original is use modern danish instead of traditional old norse.
@@eravulgaris211 of course not. Now reading my own comment I see it can sound bit diminishing. It was meant in the best way possible. She has built all the layers of instruments, voices and tempo and put an tremendous amount of work in to it to sound so "correct". My point was only that her interpretation probably sounds a lot like what it would have sounded like 800 years ago.
Beautiful Myrkur
Magnifique. This music is really moving and gives me shivers
I know it is pretty randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online ?
Me too. Something about strings as a pedal tone, a lone drum, and the human voice is really...capturing my attention at the moment.
I agree with you! Something about this is so old and moving.

Medieval ballads
i love you Myrkur!!!
Can’t think of anything but “The Witcher 3”....awesome 😁
Skyrim.
Does anyone know who created the melody of this song?
I have been obsessed with this music for a week or so....
It's a folktune - at least from the 1600s, but maybe older I think? Versions of the song and story exist all over Scandinavia.
@@vanefreja86 Ah, I see--thanks for your response!
Faroese metal band Týr also made a version. “Ramund hin unge” is the title of their song.
@@asklysdahl8767 Ah, I see! Thank you.

like it, but I get a feeling that the little drummer boy is about to die by a hail of Orc arrows.

This is her interpretation of it, it was a lot of work, it didnt just fall into her lap.
