No longer supported by its parent for Android updates; no longer cared for by its creator. Yet, it was Sony's very first realisation of a smartphone... How incredibly sad! Still have this phone.
Bought this phone this week and it's AMAZING. I have used my friends Galaxy Nexus and this Xperia S is hands down a much better phone. Brilliant design, amazing screen and camera, very responsive and the Sony service and apps are great. Easily the greatest gingerbread phone ever! Can't wait to get ICS for this phone, it'll be the one of the best this year for sure.
@UgaritSolutions I was trying myself a couple of those phones during the weekend and I didn't encounter any audio problem on the speaker of the phone. Most likely is the particular handset that you have. -Josh
@SimsFanTris The phone does have the messaging feature. If you look on the specification page on the Sony Ericsson website you will see "Messaging" if you click on it you will see "Text messaging (SMS) Send text greetings anywhere in the world" -Josh
I really really like this new phone. I have had Sony Ericsson products for longer than I care to admit (The T68i was the first one I owned). This was the only phone I ever wanted Sony Ericsson to ever make and you have. Well done on such a well made device.
@DieterCorporation The part that seperates the upper part of the phone from the lower one is some transparent plastic. And in this part is also the antenne integrated, so you can hardly see it.
That really depends on the store/region where you purchase the phone from. I'd suggest o contact the store where you got it from and explain to them that you did not get them to see what can be done. -Josh

I got it some days back , till now the best smartphone I have ever held on my hand..Design , UI ,specs everything is top notch...never hanged till now , although I play a lot of games and many softwares running in the background...Its a sexy beast :)....
Honestly I'm not sure if this is the case. I'll try to test it myself and get back to you when I do. One thing you can try though is, use a different video player from the Play Store. I'm using one on my phone called "MX Video" and so far I haven't seen any video type that I can't play. -Josh

Maybe you can check out the Settings>Battery section to see which apps is unnaturally high in the battery usage list. You can disable the apps one by one for a period of time to isolate the rogue app.
It is completely normal to feel the phone warm when playing games on the phone continuously since the graphic processor unit on the phone is active all the time and also the background light can cause the phone to increase in temperature. Then again this is normal and it won't get to a point that will neither cause you nor the phone any issues. -Josh
I've played on my Xperia™ S a several of the Gameloft games and they all show in full screen. What game is it that doesn't show in full screen on your phone? And where did you download it from? -Josh
I have personally used a different video player app and the quality is the same as with the default player on the phone. If possible, tell me the name of the gallery app that you are using so that I can try it myself (hope it doesn't require root access). -Josh
You are very lucky! I recently bought Sony Xperia S and my experience has been any thing but great. I tried to transfer contacts via Bluetooth, but could only import one at time from the phone"s internal memory to the phonebook. Secondly, the mic volume is just too low, to make calls I have to use headsets! Thirdly, the battery is just too poor. By the way, the mic issue is not yet sorted, as Sony Xperia Support does not respond to mails!

When you are trying to open a picture it should ask you what default media viewer do you want to use. And the Mobile BRAVIA engine should be working all times as long as you activate it on the settings menu. -Josh

Can you try to get the sames directly from the Gameloft website? This is just to see if it works properly that way. -Josh
Those are most likely system folder and if you take a look there are no files in those folders so there is no need to worry about deleting them. -Josh
