Love my base V1 Born, was a mega bargain and easily covers 220 miles with the small battery. I love it that much that it is about to become a Learner Vehicle and I can sit in it all day long instructing new drivers 👌shame the new VZ will be a waist on the new drivers as I would love it for spirted drives on the weekend 🫣
I have a fully optioned Cupra Born that I absolutely love. Great around town and lots of fun on a mountain road. I would only trade it in or purchase another if Cupra bought out to Australia the twin motor version of the Born with features you mentioned as well as the heads up display - along with the additional functionality that it brings including the remote app as well. That would justify a higher price tag and would complete the hot hatch package. It would be a missed opportunity if Cupra didn’t do that. I would be looking more towards the Hyundai Ioniq N instead for my next Hot hatch EV.
The current Born is no rocket ship but a lot of fun to drive. I wouldn’t discount it while I concede that, subject to the price hike(!), the upgrade might tempt me.
I would never have thought (as a Kia eSoul driver and German) that I would be interested in a VW again. But the Born VZ does a lot of things right. And if you look at the current practical tests of the ID.7, VW has learned a lot. Software 4.x and the APP550 drive unit will also be available in the VZ. If the price is right, it's certainly better than a front-wheel drive Kia EV3. I also thought about an MG4 for a long time, but compared to Geely/Smart, for example, it is now rather too expensive in Germany. What I love about the MEB, by the way, is the small turning circle! Looks like VW isn't dead after all 😉
Is this Cupra Born basically a VW ID3 with different front and rear fascias for a slightly different style change? To me, the shape of the body and the side glass/doors seem very similar to the ID3.
I wonder if Cupra will actually deliver the Cupra app when this car arrives. We bought the existing Born over six months ago and still no sign of the promised app. Cupra staff have no idea when or if it will be released in Australia. This was a major consideration when buying the Born as a second family car (we have a Tesla Model 3). To say we are terribly disappointed would be an understatement.
But, will Cupra actually launch their much vaunted mobile app in Australia? Such a disappointment that we bought the Cupra last year and the promised app is still not available in Australia. Also hoping the software upgrade can be retrofitted to the existing Born. We also own a Tesla and the difference is chalk and cheese.
I think price-quality will be important. If the improvements remain "meh", the MG 4 seems more and more interesting than the cupra. With the cupra, to me, it seems you're paying more for design, which makes the cupra overall better. But I'm not sure it is worth the higher price. The package and fit and finish would have to be very, very, very good.
It’s the VW EV platform so very poor ev platform compared to competitors. Poor ac and dc charging experience measured against technical drop down page which makes statements which the manufacturer walks away from
My thoughts? Come on already! Stop keep dicking about, and just release the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4x4 full fat version already 🤦😢👎 The MG4 X Power will eat this things lunch! 😂

🤫
Sure it’s based on the Id.3 but a very different drive. Cupra tweak quite a few things including power and torque
You're right, a rebadged id3
@@Ranter-cy5dnA software tweak that even VW could apply within minutes.
You are correct
Cupra is going to be VW's saving grace... if they do everything very, very well...
Beyond US$ 50k?
D.O.A.
love it... hopefully not too expensive..

Cupra is the closest to calling it a Toyota Supra without violating the copyright law

Cheers mate
More battery does not always make a car better. Unless all your looking for is range.
Not a bad hot hatch
Morning mate

The model 3 Rwd gets 0 to 60 in 5.9 why is it so much quick?
6,1sec to 100kph actually. Which is still quick to todays standards.
The Tesla is light for an ev
Geez you’d be pissed off if you bought the 2023/24 version
Model 2 will be better

No. It's a VW. Not interested.
