Only one Beatles tune, would have promoted this type of riff. It too, has the classical movement and the ascending and descending guitar riffs doubled by the bass line and, part of that tune by the Beatles, could have possibly been an influence in Into The Void. The tune is called She's So Heavy. While, obviously, that tune is in A 440Hz, and running VOX AC30s, the riff in that tune, is quite similar to this riff here. And, being it that Ozzy was a huge Beatles nut as well as Iommi, I would not doubt that tune, may have spawned some ideas. But, this tune, when tuned down to C# like they do, and using very light gauge strings, he gets a monster big ass tone just out of one note lines. He doesn't even wail hard on the strings but somehow, manages to get those Laney amps of his to pump out a massive tone like this here. It's just massive. One note lines, no 5ths intervals, just one note, big honkin sound. I love him for that sound and the riffs he comes up with. I'm not into his lead playing but, as a whole package deal, I love the guy and Black Sabbath with Ozzy's voice singing those melody lines.
And he was hard as fucking nails in his younger days......and probably still is! The fact he did 3 different martial arts during the mid 60s. Anthem of Metal
Van Halen said this was the heaviest riff ever made. It's in my top 10.
Where did he said this?
@@PedroLucas-wi3oi During a guitar world interview. I believe. But I know that is what he said.
@@davesaenz3732 do u know where I can find this interview? I'd like to see it
@@PedroLucas-wi3oi It was a guitar world interview when Black Sabbath and Van Tour for 8 months in 1978. Look it up. I do not have the actual link.
@@davesaenz3732 well, I researched a little bit and I didn't find the interview you mentioned. The closest thing I found was this interview to billboard: ruclips.net/video/MYFcThNOFOw/видео.html
For me this proves that Eddie really thinks that into the void is the heaviest riff of all time.
Peace brother
Even as he lives on his own greatness as ozzy, black sabbath shadows him. Sabbath is sabbath.
0:26 That walk while playing that riff
Godly badassery
Just to add also the way he just emerges when he first walks in 😂
Masterpiece ever. Greatness
Geezer is a badass and the reason I play bass he wrote most of Sabbaths lyrics this song and children of the grave slaps you harder then when you disobey in church
That intro itself brought tears to my eyes, thank you Black Sabbath for the magnificent song you've created
The opening riff to this song turned me into a metal head. My mind was blown the first time I heard it. This IS as heavy as it gets
Into the void is the birth of metal
Decades ahead of their time and living legends. The gods of heavy metal!!
Tony entered and walked like "Here's the guitar god!"
Agreed...
Cuz he is! :)
fuck yeahhh, you are right
Did Jimmy Page show up?
Well, he's not wrong.
3 of the 4 biggest metal gods ever..every metal band owes sabbath a big thanks!
The drummer is having a time of his life on this show. He is apsolutly smashing it, looks very good and entertaining. Every drummer, and every player that Sabbath incorporet it in band, beside original members, totaly fits in, becomes one, becomes Sabbath. Great playing form everyone in this show, and singing of Ozzy aswell.
I’m 18 years old now and I very love Black Sabbath! The best metal band ever! Thank you very much! Hello from Ukraine 🇺🇦
glory to the heroes.
BLACK SABBATH! BEST EVER!
Best metal band of all time 🤟
Best riff of all time.
I HAD GOOSEBUMPS THE WHOLE TIME WATCHING THIS VIDEO....HEAVY, HEAVY STUFF!!
Amazing how badass this still sounds
Yes still rocks, love this group I remember in 70s when I was a kid.
Este riff de Tony es realmente devastador y lleva una fuerza impresionante, demoledor y en general toda la pieza Into the Void para mí es la primera y verdadero origen del Heavy Metal. Black Sabbath por siempre, la mejor banda del mundo ¡!
The ABSOLUTE BEST.!! I Took my son to the reunion tour 1999. Incredible memory.!
Same goes for Geezer. He's a monster! Sabbath came to Nashville in 77' or 78'. We rocked the night away....
Starship Trooper Probably both.In 78 Van Halen was opening for them.77 might have been Nugent. My dad saw em in CT in 76 with Ted Nugent as the opening act
6:02 they were so cheerful and happy as if this was their first performance. Evergreen.
Black Sabbath was my favorite band when I was a teenager, I saw them Live in Gothenburg in 1974, an unforgettable memory.
Tony Iommi really plays riffs that scares the shit out of you 🔥🤘🤘🔥

The biggest group of hard sound generally. The most influencing group for about half century. Thousands of thousands of groups have copied this sound. Long live Black Sabbath.
The greatest Heavy Metal Band of all time
