you could use the pencil tool to draw in the hats. You can also give swing aka Groove in reason by taping the down arrow next to the mute and chose the type of swing you want. i usually use straight. You can change the settings of the Groove by clicking groove at the bottom left next to the Quantize. Instead of using a parallel channel go to your mixer and youll look for FX RETURN, right click in the white space, Create Send FX and then youll see to your left the browser and select your FX and to turn it on select the number you have the fx on. Control the level there. Hope this info helps
