Right part at maximum fade is closer to his RDR1 look. That or go with swept back and pomade it for the right colour. Right parted at length 6 is good if you want something closer to his RDR2 NPC hair length, but in the first game it was a little shorter.
I tought john from rdr 2 epilogue is awful but after comparsion of rdr1 and yours from rdr2 i think it's actually pretty legit, since i can't install mods because i play online sometimes i have to thank you very much
The most accurate you can get to his RDR2 hairstyle on PS4 (idk if this possible on xbox) is the beta scalp + right parted length 6 pomade as it's very similar to his beta hair pomade (which might be possible to glitch in as it's the only bit of his beta hair still in the game files but for now this is the best/authentic)

I go level 7 right parted fade so I never have to deal with the hair. It looks just a little short but I’m ok with it. Then I have a level 3 beard. I wish there was a bigger difference between 1 and 2 like there is with Arthur.

there really isn’t anything 100% close to the original hair so you can just do what you like more with that but the beard is the closest I’ve seen to the one from the first game
There is a way to get johns original hair color though, you have to get the level 7 slicked back hair, then apply a pomade to it, his hair will be restored to its original color instead of being completely black, just make sure you have a ton of pomades because it can wear off and you’ll have to apply it again, and for those of you not believing this, just do it and you’ll see the color change

A child may still have a different hair color from both parents. It is somewhat rare but not impossible.
i use the same but i have john's restored model from 1.0 version mod..tho he still looks good without the mod..and i also have his hair from the npc john and let me say..his npc hair is literally a messy right parted, took me a while to realize, it's the same model on the top and they added that part on his forhead and that's it..but yea, his head model is pretty fucked up tho he still looks like john

No this is current John. On 1.00 he looks like npc John with npc John’s facial hair. Facial animations and his body resembles npc John’s. Also his gloves and ranch pants are smaller and way better looking. Only issue he has is Arthur’s headshape and hairstyles. Also hair still black

The normal mustache level 2 is almost non existent and the level 3 one is way too long so that’s why the pencil works best but I agree with the hair
Is this how John looks like on patch 1.00? If it is, then I’m proud that I didn’t patch the game yet.....I heard that john looks a little bit better on the unpatched version of RDR2
No this is current John. On 1.00 he looks like npc John with npc John’s facial hair. Facial animations and his body resembles npc John’s. Also his gloves and ranch pants are smaller and way better looking. Only issue he has is Arthur’s headshape and hairstyles. Also hair still black
