These are my friends and my family and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. I put together a little trailer from one of our game nights that started at 7pm and ended at 3 in the am. Absolute madness. Enjoy.

      Yeah, their fan base ALONE raised 11 MILLION DOLLARS in 45 days against a goal of 750k, which raised double that goal in only an hour. They out-pledged the kickstarter to bring back MST3K, meaning their fans are more numerous and/or more generous than MST3K fans! Do you know how much of an accomplishment that is?! Garry Gygax is smiling in heaven, knowing what has become of his greatest (among very, very many) creations.
      Then again, I'd donate 10 million just on the off-hand stretch goal suggestion that would force Travis go through a haunted house. That did NOT disappoint.

      I've started to watch campaign 1 recently, and he's probably trying to counterspell the counterspell to the dispel magic he used to try and get out of Tiberius's silence.

      It really is too bad he went off the rails so bad. I liked his character in the very beginning of the underdark arc of campaign 1, but by the beginning of the Whitestone arc the tension between him and the rest is so obvious that when he's gone you can practically hear it snap when the episode opens

    • @higglybiggly1174
      @higglybiggly1174 Год назад +1

      The limelight definitely affected him, along with all illicit stuff he was doing at the same time. Being a voice actor, he probably wasn't used to being on camera that much in front of so many people - and it got to his head and he tried to make Tiberius the star of the show and tried to steal every moment.
      You can definitely watch from 1-27 how he changes and gets more and more obnoxious and unbearable. It's sad, for sure. The funeral for his character and when Scanlan tells Tooma to build a statue for him, you can see how much it affects Liam and Marisha. This was their irl friend that just became too toxic to be around. I think everyone knows something like that, and it's a bitter pill to move on from them.

    I keep coming back to this video for one reason: because this video is the complete essence of what Dungeons and Dragons is and should be.
    Most games are during quiet nights around a table with friends, drinking, laughing, cheering each other on, working as a team to solve what are essentially mental puzzles and feel as though they are a part of a larger, more magical story. And to some, it's an escape from their daily routine, a way to break into a fantastic world filled with sci-fi and fantasy elements they adore--and we can see that this is the case for this table of nerds. And they've used their popularity to reach out to all of us who feel the same way about our weekly meetings with our adventuring parties, both in solidarity and in excitement for the game.
    This is truly one of the best videos Critical Role has ever released, and it's a real treasure showing the true meaning of Dungeons and Dragons.
    Thank you so much Ashley Johnson, and the rest of the CR crew

    This is amazing! I love getting a glimpse of the early game, back when they just played this for fun, goofing around. Having no idea that this would one day turn into an actual career! They look so young and happy. Now today they still are young, happy and finally able to share this with all of us.
    I am so glad to see how they have used this for such good purposes too. The idea that from the first episodes they were also fundraising for charitable causes and have now increased that by so much. These are not just good friends, these are good people.
