Summer of 2018. Every day was around 30 C here in Sweden. Hottest summer in many years. I dont envy them

Did my conscription as Armored Infantry, the boys riding in the CV90 IFVs in this video (not those soldiers specifically, but that army branch 😅). Armored infantry is all about attack attack attack. So facing sneaky K3 Jaegers was always frustrating with their hit n run attacks.Their mission was to delay and Armored infantry moves in to destroy.

So far this series, except for the last episode, has generated 90 500 views and If I remember the subscription figures, 400 new subscribers. I think your way of presenting these episodes with this higher frequency gives you more views and I feel I get more involved, and "entrenched" in the subject of the series. A good thing. And your comments are 75% of the whole thing🙂

Yeah, the CV90's has prisms that can detect lasers targeting it to let them know they've been "hit".

Hedgehog formations is pretty much when you spread out in a small circle to defend all directions while usually the leader is in the middle taking orders, planning, checking maps etc.

Have to point out when the translation says "miles", they actually say the word Swedish "mil", and that's 10km or 6.2miles.

  • @MrLong-qr9uk

You should react to “vägen till stridspilot” means the road to fighter pilots

  • @oddjonsson2815

The veichles are equipped with the same kind of test kit and the AT-weapons are specific replicas as tge real stuff. If you're in that veichle you'll know if you've been hit and what kind of damage you've suffered.

I love the reaction they had there: Shit, that's a tank!

  • @petter5721

All soldiers and vehicles have BT laser system that register hits. They can even simulated mine and artillery hits from the command centre based on GPS coordinates. It is very realistic.

Great series, really interesting to see the difference between the British and Swedish army.

  • @Mahasa99

“Report what you see, not what you think”, was important if I remember correctly

  • @goranbrannstrom

In this context "Jägare" should be translated as "Ranger" not "hunter". They are special forces trained to operate for extended periods behind enemy lines, living off the land and disrupting enemy activities in small units. They're not hunting elks...

  • @MIDOAMG

Mate, it has probably been said in some comment before, but it's not "hunter". It's just bad auto translation. JÄGARE in direct translation is "hunter" yes, but it's not what the tab signifies. JÄGARE in this context means RANGER, so it's a RANGER tab they earn.

The term used for the Danish Army Rangers is also 'Jæger' aka ''Jäger' in Swedish.

  • @scepticalwalker3984

The CV-90 IFV is very much in service, but the other vehicle that looks like a “smallish” battle tank is the IKV 91. It has not been in service for at least 20 years. However, they keep a few in order to ‘simulate’ main battle tanks in exercises like this one. It looks like a main battle tank, MBT, but is smaller and weighs just 15 tons. In 1975-2000(?) they were used as infantry support vehicles and light tank-destroyers.

K3 Karlsborg. My home regiment as an Airborne ranger (fallskärmsjägare, literally parachute hunter). Platoon officer of the recon platoon is what I started out at. I'd like to say that I'm real tough and didn't find it hard at all but that would be a lie. Sleep deprivation and cold and wet weather was not fun at all.
