I'm from the Appalachian area and I just learned that when all the continents where one land the Appalachians and the Scottish Highlands were connected. If you trace the Appalachians on a globe and keep going up and across you run into the Highlands. I find that so fascinating!!!
Yes I found this out a little time ago, I live int he far north of the Scottish Highlands and came across this info while researching the area. So cool isn’t it? I can totally see it too from photos Iv seen of the Appalachian area.
I love watching your videos especially footage of Skye although watching her enjoy your walks or snuggled in your home does tug at my heart strings. I had a very special bond with my border collie and I miss him terribly. They are such a special breed of dog. I'm also drawn to your channel because I have ancestral roots in the highlands. On top of those attractions your content always either inspires me or makes me feel cozy or both 😍 So thanks for doing what you are doing.
Very inspiring vlog Molly! Thank you for helping us prepare to embrace autumn and all its glory!! I like your colorful dress and jacket. They look really nice on you. What a great idea that you make a bucket list for each season. You make a beautiful nature diary❤. I love your new shoes and boots. Very stylish! Have a lovely week...😊Sue
I love your journalling and especially the lists for the seasons of things to do, I may have to try that it looks like a super way to embrace the seasons. I have read The Lamplighters and it is wonderful, I kept it on my shelf as I like to keep my favourites. ☺

Cozy and lovely as always😊. Thanks for the inspiration for seasonal journals. I think I might be able to pull that off , he he. That TBR list is pretty cool, especially the book about the Appalachian Mountains. (I live about an hour from the southern terminus for that trail.) Take care.
I’m an autumnal loving girl too and can’t wait to get cosy, with a book, on a cold, dull afternoon. I’ve actually got the book, Lamplighters on my shelf, waiting to be read. Oh and I also picked it up from a charity shop this summer. 🤞 it’ll be good
Today autumn arrived in Germany. Can’t wait for the wonderful colours of the season and the coziness inside our home. 🏠 greetings from here dear molly 🍁🍂🙋🏻♀️

I just had to see if one of the books you are reading, The Thursday murder club, was available on my library audio download section and it was,I'm thoroughly enjoying it.I do read also but I find it difficult concentrate sometimes, although I recently read a book based in Scotland about a lady who battles with grief of her nothing passing of cancer and her own cancer diagnosis and her finding peace and strength in hiking and climbing some difficult areas,it's a true story,I couldn't put it down.Anyway enough rambling,I love your videos and look forward to them, and am off to buy one of your jumpers 🤔 is 56 too old to wear your boxy type ones as they some me up ☕📚 and the sage colour compliments my new kitchen and bathroom in a little cottage I've found for rent with fields for neighbours ❤.
omg all of those shoes look so cute and comfy!! also 100% rec The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches !! it came out in 2022 but it was a favorite book of mine in 2023❤❤❤
The library finally had the Thursday Murder Club ready, but I'm restraining myself and finishing The House on the Strand (de Maurier... dual timeline, and very interesting so far) first. I posted a video of my September TBR and my upcoming #victober picks. 😊 Really looking forward to the autumn reads!!
Thanks for more book ideas! Here are a few book recommendations for you: If Trees Could Talk by Holly Worton, Finding the Mother Tree by Suzanne Simard, and The Puma Years by Laura Coleman. All of them are nature/memoir style books I would highly recommend for everyone.
Hi Molly, lovely video! It's so strange - I am reading Mrs England by Stacey Halls and it sounds almost identical to the book you picked up - it's about a governess who moves up from London to Yorkshire to look after 4 children - but all is not as it seems! Even the cover is really similar!
Autumn is my favorite season as well. Unfortunately here in San Diego, we’re having a heatwave with temps in the 90’s🥵. I’ll be visiting the Highlands in 2 weeks and can’t wait for some fall weather🍂🍁🍄🟫
The Lamplighters sounds very similar to the mystery of the Flannan Isles. Have you read Finding Hildasay and Hildasay to Home. I am waiting to borrow a copy ordered from the library.
@@hippyhighlandlivingthe books are about Christian Lewis who did a massive walk around the entire coast of the UK for charity, on the way he found a dog and a new family.
This comment is not specific to this video. But!! I live in a temperate rainforest in western NC. The weather and terrain I believe are quite similar to the Scottish Highlands... plenty of rain and great places to hike. I've always been a fairweather sportswomen but am sick of not going out because of the rain. You have inspired me to simply get a rain jacket to keep dry. I just ordered a high quality one this morning & am irritated it hasn't arrived yet, ha! I hope this will encourage me to get out even if it's a bit wet. I had bought a London Fog rain coat at a big box store as LF I have always considered it synonymous with waterproof. I wore it in driving rain when I had to run into the yard to cover something & was immediately soaked to the skin. Fingers crossed I get out more!! Joanne

Happy cozy season. I’ve truly enjoyed both of Katie Lumsden’s novels. I’m not a fantasy book reader per se, but I loved Irregular witches. Enjoy!
I'd love to read more of Katie's work!
