Good morning. I have just watched your video for Cheddar Caravan & Motorhome site and wanted to pick your brains on the route if you don’t mind. We are there next week and leaving M5 at junction 22, when you got to Cross did you turn onto Cross Lane off the A38 towards the A371 as it looks a little narrow or did you carry on the A38 a little further to join the A371. Thanks in advance 👍👍
Ah it’s lovely to see ye back out with the caravan. We’ve moved on to ‘no kids’ caravanning too since last year and it’s been great, very relaxing and different. Another phase begins😁🙌
Great vlog and nice to see you both out in the caravan. We stayed there late May in 2021 and the town was still recovering from lockdowns and not much was open. Planning a Somerset visit later this year.
Hi Dan We stayed at the CCC site by Cheddar last year. However, my wife navigating sent me through Cheddar and up the gorge with the caravan but the car managed it. Lovely area around there and the Wookey Hole is well worth a visit. It's good to see you both back caravanning.
Good to see you both back and looking well. We stayed at Cheddar a few years ago, great site in a good location. The caves were worth a visit. Top of Jacobs Ladder is a good viewing point, walk up it isn't! Take care, Martin
Hi Lovely to see you both back and both looking very well , You’ve been missed by many I’m sure , Great vlog as always , safe travels , Gillian and Mark in Leeds x
Great too see you two having a lovely time in Cheddar - been there years ago but might visit again soon!! Hope you are both keeping well really love watching your videos. keep them coming luv Ian and Sue
Yeah in fact there are a few down that road - each and every one of them were fully booked, when i enquired. Hope your clan are ok, ill call you next week for a catch up. D
Thank you Mark, was a lovely evening - thank you for popping over and I hope you ended up having a well deserved break. Take care - maybe see you again soon. Dan
Having been to Somerset and visited Cheddar on a day's outing, it was good to see some familar places again. the walk UP the gorge is somewhat of an ordeal but well worth the view along the way. Yep the motocyclists love Cheddar. for the roads. Great to see you relaxing for a change. Most of your previous episodes have been full of activities and walking around big houses and grounds. All in all, ... another Gorge-ous video Dan. Well done with the puns too! Sorry I could't resist a cheesey joke.
Hi Dan, beware when you leave the site, the 2 times I've stayed there, the back end of the people's caravan who were leaving the site has 'clipped ' the gate post.
Good to see you both looking well. Been a lot of years since we toured around that area, back to the late 1990's me thinks. Looking forward to the next vlog. Take care. Ally & Alan
I have considered it, even came close to making an announcement - but to be honest, its a lot of work, so I wont say never, but it wont happen anytime soon. Thanks Dan
Hi, just a general question from a caravanning newbie. At the beginning of the video, you used WD40 (or similar I think) on the tow ball to clean it but I’ve been told to keep it dry of lubricants. Is it a different type of tow ball or does it not matter if wiped off? Thanks,
Thank you Dan for the heads up on this site as the location is brilliant, and as you mentioned we do not need the car, looking forward to your next hot fuzz upload, Dan did you use your sat nav to get to the club site or there directions ???.
Hi Roy, i used teh site directions on the CAMC website - i came off at Junction 22 of the M5 and followed the A road north until Cross, then all the way into Cheddar. A fairly easy route - a bit narrow in Cheddar (at the bridge) but it was okay.
Great to see you out and about again. Do you still have the same pets or is that the wrong thing to ask, I really liked them and hope they are okay. Guess the young ones have moved on to different scenes but hope they are well.
Hi, yeah all the pets are fine. Chops is 10 now and a bit old for long walks. The cats are both fine, but with a teenager who stays home - its far easier to leave them home too. Take care Dan
These videos have a calming nature ✅✅ love them The sigh from your wife said there is a terrible joke coming Have you got bikes you could use? Perhaps e-bikes
Well, this was the first time ive used them in nearly 3 years. I was almost about to remove them as i didnt use them. Glad i didnt. If you do buy them, get the stacking feet as well, they are designed to lock into place - for a really good system.
No air fryer yet, although we have discussed it. I suspect it will be quite good in the caravan. If you use it in the awning, make sure you keep it away from the caravan and awning sides - they throw out a fair amount of heat!
Thats an excellent question - i'd call the site to ask. However, being a member will pay for itself in just a couple of nights stay and will unlock all the CLs you can stay at too.
Hi, i very rarly look at my insta messages, they are full of spam tbh. so apologies if you sent one. head over to our website and fill in the contact form, ill reply to you there!

Rest assured, we are very grateful. Thank you both. X
Chicken looked a bit "over" 😂It's why my hubbie hates barbecues. Was a bit difficult when we were living in Africa 🤣
Nice relaxing video to watch, good to see you both on good form. We are also child free caravanning now, certainly alot slower pace 😊
Thank you. Its a very different pace thats for sure!
Hi Dan, I bet the cheese lorry driver wasn't driving Caerphilly 😂
Steady. That's my home town. 😅
Hi Dan, great to see you both. You look both well and I really enjoyed it watching the holidays. Hope to see you soon again. Take care 👍👍
Great to see you both😊 Your videos helped me understand caravanning when I was a Newbie 4 years ago. Thankyou
That’s really kind of you. Thank you.

D
We stayed there a few years back ..... great little CL. Far nicer than the club site 😉
Marvelous video. Loved Cheddar on my visits, proper nice little place. And gundam manga is always good.
Cheers you! Gundam!!! War.... and heartbreak, what else does a man need. See you at the weekend for more death and disillusion..
D
Nice one Dan,so nice to meet you all at the weekend made my day👍
Thank you Mark, was a lovely evening - thank you for popping over and I hope you ended up having a well deserved break.
Take care - maybe see you again soon.
Dan
I’m off there next month! Nice video Dan. Thank you!
Good luck! - a lovely site. Be mindful of the traffic lights in the centre of Cheddar. They can cause a bit of traffic.
Go for breakfast at The Woodborough in Winscombe. I live in Suffolk, but my family live in Winscombe. I can't beat The Woody breakfast anywhere!
Ohhh, will notch that one up when we return. Thank you!
There is a great car boot just down the road on Sunday.
We saw that - it looks massive too!

have you done a video on what stacking jacks you use, we just carry blocks of wood but would like an alternative....x
No, I don’t think I have. I’ll add that to the list. 👍
Good to see you both looking well. Been a lot of years since we toured around that area, back to the late 1990's me thinks. Looking forward to the next vlog. Take care. Ally & Alan
Thanks you two. Hope you are well
Speak soon
Dan
My dad took us to cheddar gorge as kids we went back in 2021 and the caves where closed. Would be interesting to see if they are open this time
They certinly were open when we walked through, there was quite the crowd!
Great video guys, your both looking well.
Would you ever consider another TrudgeFest
I have considered it, even came close to making an announcement - but to be honest, its a lot of work, so I wont say never, but it wont happen anytime soon.
Thanks
Dan
Should have gone in that pub near the waterfall
That's a bit (weir) was totally brilliant, anyway, I gouda go now. Cheers 🍺

Hi, the cleaner you see me use is “brake disc cleaner” it’s an excellent degreaser that removes all contaminants 👍
Brilliant, thank you for the quick and helpful reply. Love the videos by the way, keep them coming 👍🏻

Hi I’ve enjoyed watching your vids we bought our first caravan 2 months ago
Is it worth buying some of the blocks for under your legs?
Well, this was the first time ive used them in nearly 3 years. I was almost about to remove them as i didnt use them. Glad i didnt. If you do buy them, get the stacking feet as well, they are designed to lock into place - for a really good system.
With your cooking, have you ever tried an airfryer? If so what are your thoughts about taking one on a trip?
No air fryer yet, although we have discussed it. I suspect it will be quite good in the caravan. If you use it in the awning, make sure you keep it away from the caravan and awning sides - they throw out a fair amount of heat!
@@TheTrudgians Great, thanks for the advice.
Air awning?? Blown away?
Can non-members use the site?
