    Absolutely brilliant right to the end. Dr. Faisano’s comment on the way you judge a society by the way it treats and cares for its people and that the U.S. is failing says that our society is in deep trouble and teetering on the edge of dissolution.

    for last 5-6 yrs I'm sufferings from mysterious itchy rashes , always been there and non of dermatologists ( at least a dozen ) couldn't help cure it with lots of steroids and immunosuppressants . It increases and decreases with complete resolution. Recently I've tried gluten free and found huge improvement . Once I deliberately came back to wheat and stuff and rash attacked back .

    Dr. Dasani is a realist, which is really refreshing. Many times we have extremists that are 1000% certain that their very restrictive method will do magic. That won’t solve the health crisis, because their methods aren’t practical.
    I do think that his one mistake, and that’s outside of scientific domain, is that he believes that government, rather than a competitive market economy can get us into a healthier society. Ending government interest would eliminate special interest lobbies, it would eliminate wasteful spending, it would increase the ability for healthcare professionals to implement true healthcare instead of rationed healthcare by government. Politicians will always go for keeping power and money, many times at the expense of the people.

    Great interview. For me, gluten, especially in wheat, has been problematic for decades. I'm not a celiac, so I can digest gluten in very small amounts. I eat primarily a rice based diet and decided a long time ago to focus on the various Asian cuisines and incorporate them into my daily life. Still, the easy toast, sandwiches and bread rolls are tempting go-tos, especially after being off wheat for a few days and I've been feeling fantastic. Usually after a day or two a set of the wider-range of symptoms come back and I have to go back to wheat/gluten free all over again.

    Dr. Hyman, I am a chiropractor who got into chiropractic, after losing interest in medicine, as while working in the medical field, I saw horrible things happen around me. You are one one of my heroes, along with Drs. McDougle, Barnard, and Fuhrrman. I loved the conclusion of the video about how healthcare cannot be treated as business. I also have a theory on the timing of our food, and why we go into an inflammatory state. Humans we designed to consume their food during the day. Unfortunately, dinner is the largest meal in most households.

I do believe that late eating when done routinely is harmful to humans no matter what is consumed.

    I am one of those who eliminated gluten w no benefit. Its been a long tortuous ordeal but I've learned quite a bit and it led me to rebuilding my microbes through fiber, chia seeds and potato starch powder and ofcourse plants. Alot of green leafy plants, flavoring keto sugar levels. But I found my immunity especially my psoriasis flared w protein, even if it was clean in a ketogenic salad. That led me to taking hcl capsules and ginger with protein meals. So it's not just about eliminating gluten and dairy which are important but then repairing chamber 1 in ur stomach w proper acid ph level, and chamber 2 in ur colon w rebuilding ur microbes w prebiotic fiber. Drink water and exercise as well.

      FIRST OF ALL, TRY "NO" GLUTEN, INCLUDING RICE AND POTATO, WHICH ALSO HAVE A FORM OF GLUTEN. GLUTEN IS IN DO MANY ITEMS, I SUGGEST YOU STOP EATING PROCESSED FOODS. EAT FROM SCRATCH. GLUTEN SENSITIVITY IS NOT NECESSARILY GENETIC, THUS WHAT YOUR MOTHER CAN EAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN. EVEN IF GENETIC, IT COULD BE GENES ON YOUR FATHER'S SIDE, OR SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOUR MOTHER ON HER SIDE OF FAMILY
      LISTEN TO MANY DICTORS TO SEE IF SOMEONE RINGS A BELL. READ DR ALESSIO FASONO'S BOOK, AND HEAR OUT DR HYMAN. ALSO, DR PETER OSBORNE. FOR THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING. GLUTEN CAN CAUSE KIDNEY DISEASE, AND STONES, ETC. I AGREE, EAT SMALL PORTIONS. ALL THINGS IN MODERATION. WHAT HELPED ME A LOT WAS NOT EATING MY STARCHES AND PROTEIN IN THE SAME MEAL. READ, THE OLDER, BOOK, FIT FOR LIFE, BY THE DIAMONDS. I SEE IT FOR SALE AT MANY SECOND HAND STORES. SIMPLY PUT, IF EATING MEAT OR FISH, EAT SALAD, NO BREAD OR POTATOES OR RICE AT SAME MEAL. OR SKIP MEAT, FISH IF EATING ANY STARCH. LET THE DIAMONDS EXPLAIN THE SIMPLE REASON. AS FOR ME I AM SKIPPING GLUTEN IN ALL FORM. THERE ARE SUPPLEMENTS THAT DO NOT HAVE GLUTEN IN THEM.

    When you eat bread in Europe, how do you know where the wheat that was used to make the bread was grown? The United States exports a LOT of wheat overseas. That bread you eat in Europe may have been grown in Pennsylvania. If that's the case, it may not be the wheat that's bothering you.

    • @Ann64
      @Ann64 3 месяца назад

      Glyphosate for example?

    • @terryjwood
      @terryjwood 3 месяца назад

      It may not be the gluten in wheat that's bothering you. It could be some other ingredient. And you really have to know where that wheat was grown and how the wheat was processed. You might even have an oat allergy and the wheat was cross contaminated with oats during milling. It's a very complex puzzle.
      I very much doubt it's the glyphosate as it's a myth that American farmers use it as a desiccant. They may use it after the end of a harvest to remove weeds from a field. But they do not spray it onto the wheat crop itself.
      And they most certainly don't drench their wheat crops in it. Glyphosate is far too expensive to use as a desiccant when far cheaper chemicals will do the job. And besides, it's very rare to even need a desiccant for wheat because it naturally dries out when it dies. I have heard of farmers in Scotland using desiccants. But they too don't use glyphosate for the same economic reasons.
      If you can eat gluten containing bread in Europe, but not in America, look to see what else is in that bread.

    AMAZING INFO AND DISCUSSION. As a 64 year old who got Crohns Disease at 14 years old which devasted my life and left me unable to have children. l have suffered from constant problems including associated arthritis. I gave up dairy, meat, wheat and eggs and got some results in less than a week. However I have continued to suffer and got M.E. and had to give up work. Recently having had a devasting situation in my personal life which is life-long affecting and which 10 years later I am just starting to get to grips with. Having lost my partner, my home and being terrorised for 2 years night and day by the son and daugher in law of my late partner who had planned to prevent me from inheriting the provision that my partner of 30 years had left for me. Really intense emotinal pain and stress. Due to the original operation I had for Crohns disease I was left with constant widespread nerve damage for which I have been having treatment for since it became available in 1991. Unfortunately the cryotherapy I had caused further damage and made the nerve pain even worse and constant and I have a bladder condition as a result of another operation for which I am having somewhat experimental treatment for but I am in constant pain... Having move 5 years ago in a somewhat collapsed state, from which I still have not been able to unpack and sort/dispose of belongings etc I had continual infections which we not queried by my GP and I said to a pain consultant that I thought I was in having some sort of health crisis as I felt so awful and could do nothing except go to bed. I asked if I could have a course of steriods and was put on 15mg. A GP took me off them and while being assessed for an operation on my shoulder the blood test showed my white blood count was 181. Having no treatment for this and finding myself in pain from shoulders and hips and unable to move I was taken into hospital by ambulance and eventually diagnosed with Polymyalitis Rheumatica (PMR) . I am on Prenisolone (steriods) and methotrexate and am finding it impossible to cut the steriods as symptoms come back. I have been researching to see what I could do to help myself and have concluded that the gut is involved in my developing the last illness as both crohns and PMR are autoimmune illnesses. I have been taking Proton A inhibitors for a hiatus hernia and reflux for years which affects the microbiome and have been given constant antibiotics for the inflammatory bladder condition although I do not have urine infections. I am in constant pain and have chronic digestion problems. I can see the level of inflammation in the veins around my knuckles which change daily and hourly in response to what inflammation I have. I have in the last two months developed pain in the finger joints and base of thumb in one hand which is very painful and limits use. I also have a pre-cancerous oesophagus condition which they no longer regularly screen for changes in the UK and which I am concerned will change to full cancer. My quality of life is poor at present and I am in existence/survival mode only going out for Hospital appointments which I would combine with food shopping and make do with whatever food I had at home until the next appointment if possible. I was in so much pain trying to walk and carry shopping home and feeling dredful from the side effects of the tablets I was on and so this is how I have been living for the last 6 years. Having read a lot on line and purchased various books and because of worsening conditons I have decided to try an exclusion died to try and treat, lessen the inflammation and reduce/eliminate the need for these toxic drugs I am taking. Other people I have read about appear to have remarkable results. I will try for myself from 1/2019. I found this/these webcasts of particular interest and the one with Dr Hyman and Dr Fasano of particular interest regarding the open gate/gut cell condition and I think this is of relevance to my conditions. I am going to try the PADDISON PROGRAM for Rheumatoid Arthritis which I bought myself for Xmas online and cost £70.81. I will use this as other people have had remarkable results, by excluding various foodstuff and use any other information as well. I intend to start in 1/2019 when I have been able to get the food items I need. I have started by eliminating, dairy which I was sensitive to before, meat, eggs and fish and wheat. I have also started the cucumber and celery juice everyday, sometimes adding blueberries and baby spinach. I intend to keep a food diary as well. These online webcasts are invaluable for information to help ourselves as have constantly been told by conventional medical practioners that diet does not help and given toxic treatments such as steriods, which although are a life-saver are not a cure and to me the side effects make me feel terrible and almost as bad as the illness and cause their own illnesses and weight gain. Here's hoping this works! ...I wish everyone well and hope you succeed in your own quest for a better life quality and health. X

      Check out the carnivore diet. This is the ultimate elimination diet eating only animal products. Most strict form often used by very sick people is beef, salt and water. Look up Mikhaila Peterson on RUclips. She has gone into remission from severe rheumatoid arthritis and depression using carnivore diet and was able to stop medications. Note some people recommend trying ketogenic diet for a month to get fat adapted and used to the decreased carbohydrates first before switching to keto carnivore but this is not required. Keto and carnivore diets are anti inflammatory.

    gluten intolerance is not a problem in Europe due to the way we cook products that contain gluten, if you speed up the process and gluten doesn't have enough time to decompose you will suffer from gluten, in USA it last a few hours to make a batch of bread in europe the dough is being kept for at least 16 hours before cooking so the gluten decomposes and you don't get any sideeffects from eating it, unless unfortunately you are gluten intolerant
    So many thing are done wrong in USA and the level of ignorance is astonishing

    From my own experiences -- eat only non processed food. Only low carb veggies, and some very little meat/poultry/fish, I consume it only white turkey and some fish that is non farm raised is my favorite. Gluten may be factor, may be not, I found it's to me, as various other bad stuff, altogether. Alcohol, milk, sugar, sauce etc is big no's to me because it's all processed, means body won't count it as food, more like antibody.
    Heck: to me even fruits and nuts are inflammatory, as well as heavily fried/grilled foods, but I know easily why fruits are inflammatory, they are no longer wild, they are farm raised with all that chemicals being sprayed on 'em to keep 'em bugs and diseases free, it's no wonder. Think something same applies to nuts as well

    Clear and undespureted fact. Half of the most long and happy leaving people in the world / Central Europe , Balkans and Italy , are very serious gluten consumers. So it is not about the gluten is about the genes and the quality of the food

    It seems to me if you hsve celiac disease You should stay away from gluten. But that does not mean you should eat foods that say they are gluten free. Those foods are highly processed, So basically you're still eating junk food

      12/18 in the light of the 16 woman who died recently after eating a sandwich from Pret a Manger which contained sesame seeds which were not specified on the label. There was a tv programme which also looked at the gluten levels in supposted 'gluten free' products sold in supermarkets and the levels were over the limit expressed to be safe for celiacs. Therefore they are not safe to eat and anyone wanting to avoid gluten for health reasons should avoid these products. Also they substitute ingredients which may be harmful and high in sugar etc.
      Again, individuals need to inform themselves and take responsibility for what they eat. The safest food is the food you grow, buy and prepare yourself. No one should expect anyone else, food producer or organisation to take responsibility for their safety and life that would be very naive in any situation, particularly because the motivation behind everything is to make money. Whether you are a farmer, food manufacturer or medical drug producer. In fact anything you buy is at your own risk whatever it is. Everyone now knows globally that they have to talk the talk of what people want to hear in order to sell their products and sadly people are drawn in and believe it. PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP AND STOP BEING SO GULLIBLE ABOUT EVERYTHING AND LOOK AT EVERYTHING OBJECTIVELY.

    I have got to say this here because I think people in general are being really misled about GMOs in Europe. Successful lobbying has meant that GMOs are not only being grown in parts Europe (I think Spain and Italy, but I am not sure) they are also being sold with the caveat that they must be clearly labelled. So, although they are not available in supermarkets, where you have the power to READ the clear labels, GMO cooking oil has been sold to restaurants and caterers, who know little of the GMO controversy. So, those lovely, clear, compliant labels are stuck on the shelf where the consumer can't see them. Please, if you eat out anywhere in Europe check with the caterer that they have a non-GMO option when it comes to cooking oil. This really makes me upset because I look around at all those non-smokers in their smoke-free environment who are unwittingly eating something that the WHO has labelled as a 'possible carcinogen'.

    Dr Fasano is there any posibility that the glyphosate in the GMO is the caused instead of gluten about gluten intolerance? I heard some people trying some organic wheat with no problem, but when they eat GMO wheat they feel symtoms.

    can I ask .... haven't people been eating Gluten for thousands of years ???? so why do we see the rice of these different illnesses the last 100 years.... maybe its due to something else than gluten ... fx sugar ... msg ... toxins in food productions and the excessive meat eating ... personally I think not eating meat and animals would be very good for most illnesses too !!! thanks for a good interview ... and your youtube channel in general !!!😊😊😊

      People eat more junk food. Thus they have poor gut bacteria. Also the pasta made in North America is made from Frankenwheat, that's been sprayed with Glyphosate to speed up drying. Not exactly a healthy form of pasta. Fix your gut bacteria and gluten should not be a problem.

    This is a ridiculous statement.
    Hundreds of years ago, there were no tests for such conditions.

    When you put people on a "gluten-free" diet, your are also effectively putting them on a (Grain)-Lectin-free-diet. Dr Steven Gundry would say this reduction of Lectins is what makes people better???? This is important because, if it's the lectins, not the gluten, causing trouble then we have the potential to make them feel even better by avoiding other lectins and maybe even allowing white-bread???

    Obviously if you're considering trying the gluten free diet, please rule out celiac disease before you go on the diet. There's nothing worse than getting better on the diet only to have your doctor ask you to do a gluten challenge to look for celiac disease. I would suggest that you rule it out first, along with wheat allergy, and THEN consider trying the diet.
    If someone feels better on the GF diet, that's a wonderful thing -- for no one NEEDS to eat gluten. But if you don't feel any different on the diet, you're just wasting your money -- and you should enjoy that tuna on whole wheat sandwich and/or that doughnut! 🙂 Enjoy gluten while you can!
