Tom, absolutely brilliant! We are on day 4 of our plot and I thought this was brill, you deserve an Oscar! I worked in Nottingham for many years and live over the border so your humour is right up my street!
So true!! Had my share of shed break-ins, vandalism and thefts which is soul-destroying .. but all is forgotten in the sheer joy of allotmenteering😍. Great vid 👍🥕
You probably dont care at all but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
Wow ..what a great real video...3 years in ..and ive witnessed 7 of..these things.. brilliant .but .the rest of time ..mainly all..is fantastic. All is a learning / experience centre .and make Freinds if all ages..spot on
Good to see you back to your humorous best! A fantastic piece of film making! I hope you manage to get on your feet with a new job etc in these uncertain times. Bravo!
Oh my days this is brilliant...so so funny and well put together.I would have loved to have been a fly on your plot shed wall when you were filming it 🤣🤣 .This will be one to watch a few times whenever I need a laugh.well done Matt.
Well the issue with using pesticides etc is that it’s only the person who uses the pesticides that affect other people. Someone growing organically would have no negative effect on the plot next door, yet pesticides potentially would.
Ah, feels like home. We have the exact same issues with allotments here in Germany. Great video! Had quite a few hearty laughs, especially when you took out the tweezers to pull weeds, hahaha!
That was a fun video. Shame you don’t do videos anymore. Would love to see you come back and start us newbies with the basics. My allotment is my back garden.
I love it. It's so true and happens alot where we were. We had our crops damaged and hens poisoned by a bully. Just be careful of the site you choose. Some have good reputations, others have bad ones.
Great video! Would agree with all of these with the addition rubbish/green waste dumping. I've seen a few people dumping cuttings and weeds onto others plots
What can I say, Matt? BRILLIANT!! Now you know why we missed you so much. Sincerely hoping that things are starting to sort themselves out for you. Some of us actually CARE! A great vid, although I am not personally an allotmenteer. Your unique brand of goonery got the messages across without rancour. Well done. Be prepared for comeback from any feathers you might have ruffled. Some things need saying and you got it across in 'the best possible taste;' (remember Kenny Everett?) - Every good wish to you, bro' - Paul
Just got my first allotment.... Second visit and my neighbour had seized the authorised path between our plots. Im going to seize 3 metres south... its shit land with worse light but I have room to expand. Allotments are not full of relaxed hippies... they are highly competitive and you see peoples true colours.... I have seen more waste dumping on allotments than I have seen anywhere in my life. I shit you not ... I used to go to anarchist festivals and they had better discipline than allotments. Screw "the environment" .... the people on my allotment take all their waste to the nearest border fence and dump it there. There our developing nations with better waste policies.
Well done! I agree, from over 12 years "plotting" ! However, despite it all, for a few quid a week - it's worth it! What gets me is when new people arrive and refuse to acknowledge others - won't return a smile or a greeting, OK then... Bye!
I've actually been put off from applying for an allotment. I deal with enough neighbourly stresses where I live, to the have to deal with that while trying to do my hobby.
Brilliant! I especially liked the "chemical spraying" technique like an MI5 agent. (Pls tell me it was water) 🤣 Your talents go further than giant courgette-growing, Sir.
I had a stalker in the form of another plot holder. The whole thing lasted 18 months until the committee had them expelled from the site for " not working their plot".
This is absolutely brilliant 👍😂👌 especially liked the reference to a bulging but lol (sadly had to give up my alottment recently as covid and a new baby meant had no time, and especially in the minds of the 'keen' committee) 😭
Sorry to hear you gave your plot up, but I'm sure you'll always have green fingers and can pick it up later when life allows. Congratulations on the baby!!
I feel anxious about my plot even tho it's tidy. I can't cultivate at full scale for another month tho so I already feel sick that the allotment police will get me. I'm not good with confrontation
Allotment Gardener got a few of them on my site. They either go early morning when no one else if there and hose their whole plot or in the evening. Even though I’ve seen them loads of times 😂😂😂 this was a really funny video. Hope you’re doing alright xx
My little site, my plot is next to the site rep's plot, and he sprayed his bind weed on his fence with weed killer.... only problem was it drifted on to the edge of my plot and affected some of my plants!.....I wasn't happy!!!!
Jealousy.......I'd put that first . All my life I dreamed of leaving the hustle and bustle of living in the city . I found a little row of cottages out in the countryside, one came up for sale .....put my offer in and the nightmare began. At first my neighbor was friendly and helpful but when I purchased a plot of land next to the cottages it all changed . I worked for 12 months on the land ....greenhouse.....vegetable beds ...flower beds ......new fencing. Then the nice neighbor turned nasty ...... Long story short .......it got that bad I moved back to the city ! He liked to beat his dog when he had a bad day and thought it was ok ? I moved because the crazy bastard had guns and his character was like the loon at Whitehaven that went on a shooting spree.......... So ......be careful out there. Don't upset people by being yourself 😤😜🖕
Traditional vs progressive especially when both camps are on the committee. The traditionalists: neatly dug rows of leeks and turnips in bare soil, likely to be men way over 50 have done it the way their post war dads and grandad did it. Dig, dig, dig and there's a chemical for everything. Progressives: wavy paths of quinoa and wildlife friendly gardens, more diverse group of people . Includes permaculture which mimics nature rich with plants but can look wild and unkempt to the uninitiated.
loving your vintage silent movie skits very funny
Great show, reminds me of Malcolm Kingswell; Allotments for fun and food!
Tom, absolutely brilliant! We are on day 4 of our plot and I thought this was brill, you deserve an Oscar! I worked in Nottingham for many years and live over the border so your humour is right up my street!
Love the way you have two of you on the screen at the same time
After a hard day at work that put a right smile on my face. Great stuff :)
So true!! Had my share of shed break-ins, vandalism and thefts which is soul-destroying .. but all is forgotten in the sheer joy of allotmenteering😍. Great vid 👍🥕
Hi Tracy,
It's all part of being an allotmenteer but like you say, the good far outweighs the bad!!
Matt 🌻🍅🍆🥔🥕🌶🥒🥬🥦😬
Was it people from the alloment plot.
Nice one mate. Bit of joy in these strange times. Thanks. Leon

🤣🤣🤣 glad you both enjoyed it
Good to see you back to your humorous best! A fantastic piece of film making! I hope you manage to get on your feet with a new job etc in these uncertain times. Bravo!
This was hilarious, loved the acting! Also some good practical tips on how to be a good allotment holder.

0:51 I was not expecting that, especially in a video about allotments! I'm glad I wasn't drinking tea at the time!
Ah, feels like home. We have the exact same issues with allotments here in Germany.
Great video! Had quite a few hearty laughs, especially when you took out the tweezers to pull weeds, hahaha!
Well done Matt, bit of fun in a mad mad world
Cheers Steve!!

Brilliant Video as always, gave me a good laugh 😂 looks like allotment problems are universal lol
Great video! Would agree with all of these with the addition rubbish/green waste dumping. I've seen a few people dumping cuttings and weeds onto others plots

I enjoyed that & very informative
😂 You had me at "bulging butt" thank you! Xx
🤣🤣
Nice video I have 3 wildlife cameras now because of theft. When produce goes missing it’s normally from fellow plot holders cheers 🍻
I've actually been put off from applying for an allotment. I deal with enough neighbourly stresses where I live, to the have to deal with that while trying to do my hobby.
Excellent and everything true.
Not seen a video from you this year hope you keeping well and will be back with us soon
Brilliant! I especially liked the "chemical spraying" technique like an MI5 agent. (Pls tell me it was water) 🤣 Your talents go further than giant courgette-growing, Sir.

All the conflicts of nations demonstrated in the microcosm of an allotment.
Nice one I thought that was hilarious 😂
Absolutely great love the video hope your well best wishes from nick
Way toooooooo many jobsworths and envious gits at my allotment.
#5 No, just no. If someone really wants to argue about how I garden in my own space, they can just do one.
Just been kicked off mine but mine had greenhouses and a 3x6 met tunnel someone had their eye on it so back Home I am .
Great vid Matt 👍
Hahaha very good 😅 your too funny you know. Not many agree with no dig at mine lol
Very funny,, but very true 👍...
I feel anxious about my plot even tho it's tidy. I can't cultivate at full scale for another month tho so I already feel sick that the allotment police will get me. I'm not good with confrontation
The one with the hosepipe 😂😂😂😂😂

Quite brilliant 😂😂😂👍👍👍
Too kind 👍👍😬😬
Interesting...
I live in Texas & my community garden is organic only. Are there allotment sites like that?
This is soo o true😀😀
My little site, my plot is next to the site rep's plot, and he sprayed his bind weed on his fence with weed killer.... only problem was it drifted on to the edge of my plot and affected some of my plants!.....I wasn't happy!!!!
I can bet you were not!!
And that's from the rep!?
Happy growing,
Matt 🥦🥬🥒🌶🥕🥔🍆🍅🌻👍
I had a good laugh at this one,
Terrified! Getting rid of allotment right now! Lol
