That was rather a creative approach, to move Edward a continent far away from Europe .
Yet, in the Bahamas, he got wrapped up in the murder and apparent cover up of the richest man in the Bahamas, Sir Harry Oakes. Edward had nothing to do with his death but seems to have possibly been involved in the cover up and ultimate trial (though acquittal when a lifted fingerprint was shown to be a fraud) of Alfred de Marigny. It’s a fascinating story. There is a book about it but I can’t remember the name of it. It’s super old. Maybe from the 1980’s or something.
My father was in Naval Intelligence towards the end of WWII until ‘47 decoding messages. He said he’d tell one day what he knew about Edward, unfortunately he passed in 96 just before his OSA clearing him to talk in 97.

Because post-war, whilst high ranking German Nazis's were dealt with at Nuremberg (those that did not escape the hangman's noose by blowing their brains out or bite down on a cyanide capsule), British traitors were able to carry on as before in ruling and influential positions as their activities were swept under the table.
