It's not outdated. You guys "RUclipsr/Influencer" just need something to talk about....
Not outdated. I don’t think it ever will be. However, because of the economy, most people are taking a break from it. I rarely carry my monogram bags but I won’t get rid of them. In a few years, when the quiet trend is over, I will pull them back out and the prices will be outrageous with all the increases.
I receive more compliments on my LV canvas vachetta bags than any other brand. Most recent being,"wow love your speedy, LV canvas such a classy- classic for always! 🎉
There's soo many new canvas bags coming out. I really thought LV canvas is gonna be phased out bec so many YTrs say so but nope. They're still making new releases but..they are also making new leather bags.
Ok, Older Woman here! I have owned Louis, Dior, Gucci, Mark Cross, Celine, You Nane It over the years. I carried my original Speedy for 10 years. It was a work horse. I travelled for business a lot, young women would tellme they loved my bag when I thought it was way past its prime. I would say thanks but its old! Always same reply, "Yes, that is how i know it is real!" I know quality and I DO NOT buy designer names any more in shoes or bags, other leather goods.
I always buy Italian, high quality leather with NO visible logo. Just my personal opinion but for me the whole"designer" thing is over. There is no one left to impress, unless it is with your beauty, youth, gracious manners and good taste. I find those videos of women in various cities around the world reeling off the brand names of everything they wear, ridiculous! Thanks for bringing up the topic for discussion. ❤️

I’m an old gal myself just because we’ve had our run with luxury doesn’t mean it’s ridiculous for the young women to enjoy it. Sounds like you enjoyed it for years and are done. That’s ok. Also ok for others to love it

I don’t like LV canvas bags but I don’t think they are outdated. The last time I went to Westfield Doncaster shopping mall, which is nouveau riche central, two out of three women who walked past me were wearing tiny LV monogram bags. They are more common than Woolworths bags. I think they are here to stay.

Never for me, it’s still what I use the most to travel with. Maybe not much in my everyday life, but traveling is LV canvas for sure!

I still wear my LV canvas one as you said it is very good material very sturdy especially the old ones or if I may say the better quality ones . As for would I pay $7000 for LV leather bag No I would rather save this money then pay it in Hermes bag
Hi, Ms. Angelique! I don’t think canvas is necessarily out of style. I can appreciate that consumers are concerned with fakes/replicas but I just enjoy what I have and don’t worry about it. I’m just grateful for my pieces. I do find their prices interesting now 😊. I jumped on the whole no logo, leather only bandwagon but find the bags to be very beautiful but heavy! I purchased an Alma 20 years ago and I’m obsessed with her. Canvas is timeless…especially in their classic silhouettes. Thanks for the video!
I think if LV discontinued their canvas bags, they'd lose a lot of customers. I still prefer LV canvas over the leather, so I'd lose interest pretty fast.
I've had my eye on LV since I was in grade school, I have no idea why (I'm now 50). Bags will evolve in shape (and sadly cost), but they will still remain classics.
I don’t think it’s outdated, I’m personally not interested in wearing my LV canvas bag at the moment, but that doesn’t make it outdated, it just means I’m more interested in carrying my leather bags. Everyone else should wear whatever they want. I think it’s my age, but I’m more interested in high quality leather bags made by small businesses or individual artisans now, I had fun with designer stuff when I was younger & got the desire for owning a lot of it out of my system. Doesn’t mean I think other people should stop wearing it though.
Chanel does not make a quality bag. They are super expensive.
LV canvas is overrated. In the Philippines where I live bags, pillow cases, blanket, shirts, shorts, slippers, shoes are all over the place since the design is easily replicated. It cheapens the brand. There are obvious fakes to superfakes that you can hardly spot the difference. Greenhills is where you can find a variety of fakes - good or bad fakes.

It’s not outdated it’s out priced. It just too expensive. Too many fakes out there. I am trying to buy different unusual bags which I don’t see myself coming and going
I haven’t been reaching for any of my Louis Vuitton items for about 6 months and not sure why. Instead I’ve been wearing my coach and Tory Burch bags because I feel a lot safer carrying them.

My comment was removed for some reason but to your point on durability….there is plenty of content out there showing that there might be $100 in the difference of materials for leather vs canvas in these bags. Not sure why there is always a focus that “it’s not even leather”…it’s all overpriced. Give me something that will last! Thanks for the video!

I love the classic monogram bags. But I have sold them all, I just didn’t feel comfortable carrying them. My city is flooded with fakes and crime is rampant. So I carry Lululemon bags now, but I do love a designer slg in it. I just don’t want to be a magnet or appear like I’m better than others for carrying a designer bag. Too many people are struggling right now, so I prefer to stay very low key. But I love to admire others carrying them. They’re just way too overpriced for my liking.
