Usually it takes about a 45 minute local boat ride, but because of stormy weather... we took a speed boat! Zooming through the "EDSA of Isabela", I found myself at this stunning white sand and turquoise water paradise island! Swimming here and running along the sand is truly something you will remember!
Isabela City is home to many beautiful islands and local communities. If you are in Zamboanga City and want to take a day trip...

Did you know Kulas that once lobsters reach adulthood they literally don't age? What amazing animals! They don't have the built-in self destruct mechanism that most things do. Great to see the sea turtles too! We love shellfish here!

back in the days basilan is one of the scariest place in mindanao because of the extremist/terrorism,
which one of the causes people was afraid to travel and see the beautiful tourist spot in basilan.

Believe that Bro. I knew as far back as 2013 the South Islands of Mindanao is the real hidden paradise gem of the Philippines but was afraid to go there because of the warning from Filipinos it's not safe for gringos 🤭

Sta Cruz island between Zamboanga City and Basilan is very beautiful white sand also. 20 minutes by boat from Z.C kulas and local government should promote these island to attract tourists.

Also showing what the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is doing to breed/propagate certain fishes is laudable as not too many people, including me, are not aware of it.

It is so cool when you go to that area. I was down there a very long time ago. Since my father family originated in Spain, I'm native fluent in Spanish and I'm able to understand Chavacano and a great part of Bisaya. I have some friends in Zamboanga that I met in Cebu City in my last trip to the Philippines back in 2/2018. You are more likely already busy but if you want to meet the family I know there I could send you their contact info.
I'm a US citizen but primarily Spanish/French and Eastern-Northern European and a bit UK and other parts Mediterranean Euro contries..

It's being hidden for a long time already. But,our LGUs here in Basilan are working so hard so that Filipinos can also experience how beautiful this part of the Country is.
