When I watched this the 1st time on TMS channel I said what others are saying here: they did the Beatles better than the Beatles ❤
There will never be another sibling singing trio as great as the Bee Gees ever again
EVER!!!
Just unbelievable. For me, the Bee Gees are the most iconic band.hits in 6 decades. Thank you for keeping this amazing group alive.
Completely agree with you 😊💯
It’s just so obvious, from this tribute,to their friends, how much they admired the Beatles. And I know, that the Beatles admired them.
Isn't it just a perfect tribute to the Beatles? Like all TMS performances on stage, this is live, and no backing track on this one, just their own beautiful voices and two guitars. The sound mixers were top notch and equalized each voice, so the harmonies are very pure, but you can also hear the individual voices. I just love this. I smile from the second Barry hits the first note right through the end. As much as we adore their harmonies, the unisons on this are like sunshine!! OMG, Robin on "This Boy" is incredible.
Well said! I feel The Bee Gees could sing the Beatles with such exceptional technique but I don’t think the Beatles could ever match the perfection of The Bee Gees. Just my humble opinion.
@@bethanyhuber2598 - 👍👍The Beatles were terrific but The Bee Gees had three beautiful and amazing voices that nobody could match. Impeccable!
Beautiful montage of the Beatles songs by The Bee Gees. You can see how respectful Barry, Robin, and Maurice were of their idols. Thanks for this great review, Chad!
Their version of "That boy" is better than the original!
Robin’s voice is perfectly suited for this style of music, and he elevates it in ways that no one else can. ❤😌
@@amymarckel420 - I agree and it's interesting that the solo in that was done by Lennon who had a bit of a strong and almost rough voice and yet done so beautifully by Robin who has a soft, gentle voice.
I was mesmerized when I first saw this uploaded on the Midnight Special channel. I had heard poor quality bootlegs of this over the years, but there was never any video available. The talent of these three men to excel in so many styles is just amazing.
The Bee Gees outBeatled the Beatles. As great as the Beatles were they can’t come near The Bee Gees harmonization and their soul stirring lyrics. This is coming from a former Beatles fanatic.❤❤❤
Hello Angelina , how are you, it has been awhile, I hope everything is good with you my forever Barry’s Girl 🎸🎼🎶🌹❤️💛
@@marialoyola2423 hi Maria, yes it’s been a while. Yes everything is good with this forever Barry’s Girl. As long as I get my Barry/ Bee Gees dose daily I’m happy. I’ve been missing you my forever Barry’s Girl! 🎶❤️🔥🎵💓🎙️🎸🎹🎼💘

I just watched this two days ago and I echo how fantastic the midnight specials were. The boys looked so happy and proud to be covering the songs of their idols and doing it so well (if not better!!!) Amazing vocals and harmonies from all three and an extra special mention for Robyn's sublime vocals on This Boy. Great choice to start off the Beegees weekend Chad. Thank you x
Better for sure.
Beatles are much Famous but the BEEGEES are much more talented thats a fact
I like much mora Bee Gees, the best for ever
That's not a fact, that's an opinion. I love both bands, both are great in their own ways.
*Nenushka* Eeeexactly, nothing should be defined as a fact but as a personal taste, 'different' is a better word, and what is different is good. How boring the world would be if everybody likes the same.
@@nenushka So true !! Bee Gees are my boys & no one is like them but The Beatles influenced the world = to compare is ignorance
Good morning and happy weekend, Chad! This video is a keeper for sure to cherish and know in one's heart how truly talented the Gibbs were and how much they are worthy to be regarded as the creme de la creme of popular music. They improved on the original Beatles.
My thoughts for sure. These Beatles songs sound better some how. I was never real Beatles fan, but their music has the longevity of the Bee Gees' catalogue. These covers take the songs to another level.
These two musical groups, the Beatles and the Bee Gees, marked my teenage years, when there were weekly lessons at a theater in my town about the history of the Beatles music and when Bee Gees and Beatles music was heard on every radio station. Today's song is a perfect combination of these immortal talents! Thanks Chad!
They were great at Beatle songs! I really like Barry singing "A Day in the Life" .
Ah, the perfect start to Gramma's day!!
BG‘s forever ❤
Perfect just perfect
If I fell in love with you,is a beautiful song, and sung so perfectly,by our boys.
The Bee Gees sing these so effortlessly. They sound so darn good.
This brought tears to my eyes 😢. This was fabulous. Thank you Chad 🤗
Barry said in one interview that he calls Paul Mr. McCartney, and blushes like a fan girl. Icons are fans too.
Como é que um trio supera um quarteto Chad? 😅 Somente esse trio parada dura chamado Bee Gees. ❤❤❤🇧🇷👋👋👋👋👋👋 Que são tão bons quanto os Beatles. E Robin? Que maravilha de voz. Bee Gees, incríveis! Lindo demais!!👋👋👋👋👋👋👋discos de ouro para os Bee Gees.📀📀📀💪💪💪👍👍
Only the BeeGees could sound better than the Beatles doing their music❤❤❤❤
G’s better at Beatles songs that the B’s.
Those harmony omgoodness..!! And Maurice of course..!!! 🙏💔🕊🇬🇧💎
That was great Chad. I like listening to them across all decades, but, to me, their voices are by far the strongest from 1970- 1976 and it's good that we have all the TV performances from then.
These are all early Beatles songs so I think they must have worked on the medley when they were boys in Australia.
This is a meeting of giants. The Beatles were my first musical loves, they revolutionized music and customs. Even the Bee Gees were their fans and remember them a lot but they did more by enhancing their vocal harmonies and in this they surpassed them. I never get tired of listening to this video which is a wonderful gift for us who love both. Young Robin's incredible voice emerges in all his beauty. As much as I listen to it it never ceases to impress me. It's a real emotion when he sings This Boy. Something mesmerizing.
You know they are up there with the Beatles when they can sing Beatles songs flawlessly..
Love it.
I love The Beatles and The Beegees.
They are wonderful .
Brtish vs Brtish the Best
Love England 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
From Santiago de Chile 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱❤️💐
Enjoyables video Chad. Bee Gees were really great. Beautiful voices. Greetings from Honduras.
Funny, there are only a few Beatles songs that I like, and the BeeGees improved them! Thanks for this reaction😊
Wow! They could cover the Beatles so well. In some interviews, the Bee Gees said that where they lived as children in Manchester was only 30 miles from where the Beatles lived. Thus, their accents and tones were similar.
The Manchester accent and the Liverpudlian accent are two completely different things.
@@micheladonofrio2285 And the Bee Gees do not have Manchester accents. They have very clear "proper English" accents.
This was absolutely terrific. Thank Chad
Better than the Beatles. 🥰
Oh, Chad, thank you for reacting to this wonderful Bee Gees "Beatles" medley. What a wonderful way to kick off our Bee Gees weekend. My two favorite groups ever! I was totally in love with Paul from the very beginning and I don't think I need to remind you who my favorite Bee Gee is. 😊
Agree with you LJ, my two favorite groups ever too!!!
Oh, I’m so glad you did this! I subscribe to the Midnight Special channel and this blew me away! Stunning.
I loooove The Beatles and they changed music even though The Bee Gees are my first love. I will say imo the Gibb brothers are better live. Just my opinion. You can see how the Gibbs can have a sound that is very Beatle-esque.
The Brothers are better live due to the improvements on technology over the years, The Beatles didn't have that luck, one of the reasons why they didn't tour anymore and yet unmatch to this day, two marvelous Bands and different each, the very best to me.
My two all-time favorite bands in one clip. Definitely Too Much Heaven. The first song (If I Fell) was my favorite and it came on the radio at 3am on the way to the hospital to have my son. Fate. I’ve been watching the BeeGees midnight special videos on repeat for weeks now. Also - VCRs weren’t available yet when the Midnight Special first came out. So we had to catch bands on variety/talk shows when they aired. That’s it. Which is why The Midnight Special was so great, we could see just bands performing. Thanks Chad. Love this one!
It's accurate, it's trumendeous and it's beautiful and to me, better singin' than fab four. And not to forget, phantistic acoustic-guitar playin' by Baz'n Mo.
I think this is sooooo amazing!! They sound sooooooooo much like the Beatles! They were just the most awesome thing that ever came to this earth!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Extraordinary vocal performance by the Gibb brothers of their idols at the time
This is actually one I hadn't seen. I didn't think that was possible. Thanks!
What a coincidence. Just yesterday I watched this performance and decided to make a request.
What does it take to achieve perfection? 3 chairs, 3 microphones, 2 guitars and 3 exceptional voices.
Simply wonderful!!! When I listen to songs by the Beatles from their early days, I think with a smile that the older generation at that time considered the Beatles loud, wild and uneducated. I'll never forget .our neighbors getting angry when my older brother listened to the Beatles with the window open. Oh how times have changed.
When I first saw them on Ed Sullivan in 1964, I was a young child, but it was quite exciting. My parents hated the hair, and thought the lyrics weren't good, especially the "Yea Yea Yea" in "She Loves You." I felt differently. You are right, now I think back to this sound, and think it was so lovely and melodic. How could anyone think it was loud, crazy rock and roll? That was to come later, on my stereo everyday. LOL
@@janicetrimmell6897 - My parents loved them. I have 1960's Life magazines with articles about them and one letter to the editor said "What will be next, women wearing trousers to the grocery store?"
@@susieq9801 I think they just didn't give them the attention they deserved. Pretty much if it wasn't country they didn't listen. Women in pants??? End of the world? We were not allowed to wear slacks to school until I was in 9th grade in 1970-71. I was in student council and we had to do some serious agitating to get there. It's crazy cold in the winter and you could wear a skirt up to your chin, but my goodness no girls in pants. That, and no playing softball with the boys in 6th grade put the fire in my militant heart.
Loved, loved this video and your reaction. Great start to the weekend. Have a good one, chad.
So, so good. ❤
THANK YOU CHAD and the producer of TMS who restored and released so many gems. Every performance had to be live. My favorite bands, Beatles, Bee Gees and Queen, all for different reasons. Some maybe weren't around for the Beatles but the 60's was a turbulent time with Vietnam, nuclear threats (we were told to hide under our desks ....as if!), and music was dribble. They brought fresh views on music, fashion and were cheeky buggers, a breath of fresh air. They broke the dam and the music flooded out! They also refused to play before segregated audiences and covered music of wonderful black musicians like Little Richard and Chuck Berry giving them exposure. The Bee Gees were writing and singing 3 part harmonies but when The Beatles hit they were accused of copying them! They had been doing the same since they were kids. Also, had the Bee Gees not returned to the UK to get in on the British Invasion that the Beatles started, we might never have heard of them AND they got signed by NEMS, the Beatles stable. They became good friends. This cover of their idols was stellar! Just an aside, Robin said his sister had so many kids that their family photo looked the the cover of Sergeant Pepper! 🤣🤣
Definitively similar tastes in music.
@@nenushka - Whether someone is a Beatles fan or not, they changed culture and I feel we should appreciate them for that.
Wow. What an honour, getting the Bee Gees to do a tribute medley. A definite improvement. They did the same thing when they covered Carole Kings, Will you still love me tomorrow. Such an improvement
Chad,. Mo. Was right at home with this since he was such good friends with. Ringo back in the day. I think he lived next door to Ringo for awhile. There's a video out there where mo & Ringo are on video acting silly doing. Skits.🤪🤪🤪🤪. Have a great day sweetie 🥰😊
Unfortunately there are few good videos of The Beatles because videos really didn't exist to any degree and were just tacky staged things. Even live, the sound systems and their equipment was so antiquated and the screaming so horrendous that finding good ones is like finding hens' teeth. Their Shea Stadium was the first time I saw them in colour and had to go to a neighbour's house to see a colour TV! The only way Ringo could keep time was watching John's butt!
I have kept "Life" magazines from the 60's. One man sent a letter to the editor about the Beatles..."What will be next? Women wearing trousers to the grocery store?" I guess if he's still alive he must avoid Walmart like the plague!
Beautiful
Realmente perfecto !!!
I am loving The Midnight Special posting all their incredible productions on RUclips as well! What awesome memories for many of us. Wish our kids had something like this instead of the crap they put on TV today.
This video of Sheryl Crow also features former Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Cool and fun
Good to see you again Chad and hope you are feeling well!!! Your reaction as always is wonderful, honest and respectful, what is really unfriendly is that eternal comparison on comments whenever something arises about these two ASTONISHING Bands, there's no comparisson whatsoever, those are two different Bands, from different time although very close, different difficulties (both faced many but totally different), different abilities and when not having one, all them invented how to get it, both Bands made up the way and did it big, and each member of each band has his own magic, patented with his personal seal, not any Band is much more famous or much more talented, both are different and extremely good in what they did, and every time any of the boys was asked a question about the others (at some point all of them, the seven, had to answer something from the other band), the only thing that came out of their mouths were words of admiration and respect, also there is no way to get the same results and level the number of successes in more than 40 years against just 10. Sorry Chad but I just had to say this, and now that I have vented my frustration, how good you mentioned you'd like to dig into their rabbit hole, because precisely on these days I was planning to ask if you would consider at some point including in your reactions Beatles' songs as a group and soloists, and not necessarily the most commercial songs that everybody knows since those lads have much more to offer than only 'She Loves You yeah yeah yeah' even if that one defined Beatlemania as well as 'Stayin' Alive' defined the disco era, another parallel between the two Bands, stigmatized for those who have only heard a handful of song and skipped many of their hidden gems ☺☺
I agree with everything you said.
@@nenushka - That makes two of us. The Beatles were the band that burst open the dam and let the music flood out. Before them music was sterile. Both bands were unique in their time and both bands had members with very different personalities and skills. None could read music. All self taught. Both came up the hard was playing dingy, seedy clubs. Both were copied by other artists. Both bands had wicked wit. Both bands were daring and evolved fearlessly into new genres. Both were amazing. People too young to remember the Beatles or maybe who don't know them well may be unaware of the seismic changes they brought and even if not fans should at least respect their achievements and legacy. Both bands had detractors but often simply because a few people said it wasn't "cool" to like them. ABBA is another example. They weren't "cool" to everyone but they kicked butt! Respect where respect is due.
*Susie Q* Agree again, and I don't think it's because people is young or not, but what you said is true, it was not cool to listen to the Bee Gees or ABBA when the disco got detractors, and others think is not cool to listen to the Beatles because their songs are old, but again, their catalog is big and wonderful but not the same songs that appear everywhere and everybody knows, they have a lot of underrated songs with beautiful lyrics that those who said it's not cool to listen to them will be surprised.
I hear a lot of people say older music is better ad to many degrees that is true. With that there are great new artist out their who are making great music but the problem is they are ignored by mainstream music which has been dumped down. One has to do their own research to find such artist.
This was so simple, yet, so, so beautiful! I always say that the Bee Gees sing any song better than almost anyone else and it's no exception with the Beatles. I always think their cover of any Beatles song they sing is way better than the Beatles' own version. The only song I knew from this whole medley was the last one. I'm loving the Midnight Special YT channel too! My most favorite YT videos to watch right now are from that channel: The Bee Gees' performance of “Bye Bye Blackbird” (it's really short but so stinkin' adorable) and their performance of Mo’s song, “Lay It on Me” (I love that Mo gets to be in the spotlight because of how rarely he ever is and I love how fun and adorable Barry and Robin are being while he's singing [with a little help from Barry at one point in the song]).
I’m a huge fan of Midnight Special. I was a night owl (still am) so I always caught the midnight specials. Always GREAT music and so much fun. The Bee Gees were on a lot in early 70’s. This one tribute to the Fab 4 was sooo good! Sounded eerily like them. I so enjoy your reactions. Thank you! Got my weekend off to a beautiful start. ❤️🎶❤️
🦉🦉Me too. Never missed it .Got to attend a couple of times.
I'm all in for Beatles reactions, I love them too. I'd look for lesser known songs such as "Good day sunshine", "Because" (for harmonies), "Baby's in black" (perfect duo), "There's a place" (early song, just love the lyrics), "Happiness is a warm gun" (one of my favorites). Another great band with amazing harmonies is The Hollies, I'd like you to give it a chance to some of their songs like "Carrie Ann", "Bus stop", "Yes I will", just to name a few.
Did you ever see the movie "Across the Universe"? Full of Beatles songs by other artists like Joe Cocker and Bono. A real history of the 60's in a cool movie. "In my life" reminds me of a friend who saw The Beatles with me and died from cancer. In hospice she asked me to put on a tape, she smiled and died listening to that song.
@@susieq9801 Wow what a story! I didn't see that movie but am aware of it, maybe I'll give it a try. I did see a few biopics and Beatles related movies, though.
@@nenushka - This wasn't a biopic except you sort of get the drift that the lead actor has parallels to Ringo for me, going to the US to find his father from WW2. It really shows the social contrast between the US and UK in the 60's. I highly recommend it. Maybe it's on YT or you can get it used on eBay.
@@susieq9801 Now I'm intrigued
🤜👏👏
Bee Gees sing Beatles better than the Beatles. Incomparable harmonies . Bee Gees just the best group ever And WOW blond Barry. Thanks Chad. Lovely ❤️❤️❤️😁😁😁
Beatle is good but The Bee Gees is the best their songs and voice and harmonies just
Gem timeless and make people fall in love with them forever
I love watching this video of the BeeGees singing Beatle songs. Don’t recognize the second song. Robin’s voice definitely stands out to me in all the songs. “This Boy “
I particularly love ❤️ ❤
My Goodness!! That song is 'I Need You' from the album 'Help' one of George's great compositions and almost quietly hidden 😊😊 Also Robin's voice stands out to me as well as George's, my two favorites!!
@@juanita6479 - Yup! George was like Mo. Underrecognized but a great musician and composer. Also had a great sense of humour and sponsored some of the Monty Python works. His songs were lovely, "Here comes the sun", "Something" and fun songs like "Got my mind set on you"! George, like Mo, always did the difficult third harmonies. Robin's voice in this medley really stands out. The Beatles didn't have his vibrato for sure. Each band worthy of all the respect in the world.
@@susieq9801 You're right, George founded 'Handmade Films' and decided to mortgage Friar Park just because he wanted to watch the film 'Life of Brian' which was controversial at the time, and yes, those songs and many others from his solo career are great, he's the Beatle from whom I have more solo songs, and are not few believe me. Have you listen 'Blow Away', 'You', 'Give me love', 'This is love', 'Devil's radio', 'Brainwashed', just to name a few.
@@juanita6479 - George had a creative solo career, some think the best of the group. To be honest, after the breakup I didn't follow each of the group as closely as before, being a "working girl", but think he made great music. Two of his songs, including #1, are among the ten most streamed of all the Beatles' catalog. "What is life" and "Give me love" were terrific too and I really liked him with the Travelling Wilburys. George also made an appearance in "The Ruttles". He was a humble guy often overshadowed by the others who were more outgoing. Paul's stuff was often a bit too "pop". I liked some of John's solos and he was really getting his act together creating great stuff when he was murdered. Ringo was surprisingly popular too considering he didn't sing much within the group. Certainly four very different people!
@@susieq9801 It was easy for me to follow the beginning of their solo careers, at the time of the breakup I was only 6 so I became a fan years later and it was like following everything about them at the same time and got really hooked on George's solo work especially for the deep message on his songs, I like also John's but not all, those two voices capture my attention and touch my soul. John was killed the day after my high school graduation, after that I just followed George's career. I like some songs from Paul but not many to be honest and also some from Ringo.
Hi Chad , The Bee Gees are unique . Why not play Elvis Presley’ cover of The Bee Gees song ( words ) .
By the way I am still for my request which is ( Shadows ) by Demi’s Roussos
Such perfect harmony on ‘That Boy’.Wonderful.❤
If you close your eyes, you'll swear you listening to the Beatles on stage with all the tonal qualities and subtle inflections in the songs that we come to know. I would have never known it was the Bee Gees, amazing!

My 2 best loved groups in one medley ❤
Patty-Ive viewed this video many times and i love it. I think they must have felt so good doing this tribute to the group they idolized . They wanted to be like them, not better, just like them. What an experience that must have been.
Nice to Jay Kay doing these reviews.. always liked him in Jamiroquai
The Beatles No Reply and The Long And Winding Road, not the naked version though if possible . Or you could do from 1st Album and so on to see how they progressed also the Beatles Medley on Abbey Rd album. Its all unfinished songs put together on one side of Abbey, and what a job they did on it
There's a reactor HBK Luke doing what you suggest, the albums in order and now on 4th one, it has been great journey witnessing a millennial reacting as the lads progress.
Es verdad, definitivamente los mejores ❤❤❤
The Beegees proved their greatness and humbleness by playing this homage to the Fab 4
One of my favorite songs from the Beatles was “ I Need You “ that song was from the quiet One ,
George Harrison proved to be a real great one , always under the shadow of John and Paul, he always respected his older brothers since he was the youngest among the Beatles, and the Bee-gees came after the Beatles , we all know that.
How great these humble guys became because humbleness is equal to greatness and the

Thank the lord.
Ah. The Beegees. The band who said in the 60s that the Beatles were awful and wouldn't be around long. Haha.
Hey Bill, thanks for your feedback. But...Barry, Robin, and Maurice looked up to the Beatles. Why would they do a whole medley of Beatles songs if they thought they were awful? Not sure where you're getting your info, but I challenge you to provide one interview, news article or other footage where they said that.
Hey Chad - a list of great Beatles songs would be really long, but here’s a few of my favorites I think you might like to start off with…
- Lady Madonna
- Day Tripper
- Elenor Rigby
- We Can Work it Out
And of course from this Medley…
‘If I Fell’ and ‘I’ll Be Back”.
Way too many to list! Here, there and everywhere, For the benefit of Mr Kite, Dear Prudence, When I'm 64, I'll follow the sun (wore the record out on that one. Taped a penny to the arm so it wouldn't skip out of the grooves).
@@susieq9801 I had to do the penny thing too!!! And yes to all those additional suggestions of Beatles songs. So many more too. Thanks!
@@lt6134 - I thought I was the only one who did that. It worked! LOL! 🤣🤣
@@susieq9801 You were smart enough to tape the penny. I just set it on the arm. (Of course it fell off occasionally.)😀
Totally agree with you both, those are very good songs but are also the most heard except for 'Dear Prudence' I think which is awesome, and how about 'Words of love', 'I will', 'Good night', 'Every little thing', 'If I Needed Someone', 'To Know Her Is To Love Her', 'You Like Me Too Much', 'The word', as Q said, toooooo many to list all ☺☺ Ahh, and from this medley also 'I need you' 😀😀
Fabulous Bee Gees.
