  • In this demonstration, we take a closer look at the high-resolution scan feature of the FreeScan Combo, showing the steps to achieve a remarkable 0.1 mm point distance resolution. This feature is invaluable for professionals requiring detailed scans for their engineering projects.
We begin by navigating through the initial laser scan setup, ensuring the 'Advanced Mode' is selected to tap into the high-detail scanning capability. As a new project gets underway, the importance of choosing 'High Detail' is underscored, setting the stage for capturing a level of detail that sets this scanner apart in its category.
The demonstration unfolds showcasing the Partial HD Scan feature, allowing a focused scan on specific areas. This smart approach helps conserve computer resources while not compromising on the level of detail captured. By zooming into certain areas, we meticulously capture the serial number and mold markings on a part, displaying the robust scanning capability of the FreeScan Combo.
Even with a modest computing setup, the FreeScan Combo performs exceptionally, efficiently processing the captured data to reveal a highly detailed point cloud. The transition from a point cloud to a mesh is showcased, emphasizing the scanner's effectiveness in generating usable data for engineering tasks.
In addition to the technical walkthrough, a glimpse into the additional perks accompanying the FreeScan Combo is provided. The package includes a hard case, housing essential accessories like power cables and calibration cards, showcasing the scanner's readiness for immediate deployment in professional settings.
This video serves as a comprehensive guide for engineers exploring a robust scanning solution. The FreeScan Combo's ability to delve into high-resolution scanning with ease, coupled with its practical packaging, underscores its potential as a worthy investment for serious engineering applications.

Great presentation on this mode. As a general rule it is harder to guarantee 0.02mm accuracy when the point cloud is at 0.02mm. If you can measure at 0.01mm you have a better idea of where everything is at 0.02mm.

No, unfortunately it does not, it's only available on the Freescan currently.

@@VisionMiner any idea if this is a planned upgrade for the HX software? This would be crazy useful and would save a load of time vs. taking two high/low detail laser scans and aligning in the current HX software under a new project
