    Interesting to hear that he seems to struggle with (almost) the same sounds like a german native (f.e. the final r, short i, etc.), maybe also a relict of the (low-)german influence.

    this is really nice and easy way to widen icelandic vocabulary. learning a new language really needs to start from the basic. hope you can make more helpful and simple vids like this. i still need confidence to speak someday tho. looking forward for more. Takk fyrir.

    From what i’ve learned, and what i know from old Norse(more specifically: Ancient Norwegian) this is the Norse recreation:
    Einn
    Tver
    Þrr
    Fjórr
    Fimm
    Sex
    Sjö
    Átta
    Níu
    Tíu
    Takk Fyrír for reading(or should i say Takk Fyrr) because thats the Norse way❤

    En skemmtilegt! Þakka ykkur fyrir! If I could make a suggestion: something that would be really helpful (and that I don't think exists anywhere else on the internet) would be simple exchanges/dialogues with each other. If you wanted to go hog wild, you could add subtitles, but I understand that may be time intensive. At any rate, many thanks!!!

    • @allsber

      Hey! Thank you for the suggestion, we are working on a few videos for the coming weeks and we will definately use your idea in one of them! Instead of subtitles (cause i dont have any idea how to do that :') ) I could put the text in the description below the video maybe?

    • @montgomerylatin
      @montgomerylatin 6 лет назад

      Yes, text under the video would be perfect. Thank you again, this is great!

    The numbers are very similar in Vallemål(a Norwegian dialect), just look at these sentences: "'Er æ fimm hús å fjóra lǿu i dei grenninn."
    "'Er æ trí gúta, trjå jentu, å trjú bórd, i tréi klassi."
    "Eg åt eitt sǿtepli å ein abbelsíne."
    "Det æ tíe viku midjom sommårmål å jónsok."
    "Åttendi mai nittenfemmåfyr va' an stór'e dag'e i Nòrik."

    • @dan74695
      @dan74695 3 года назад

      The first five numbers are conjugated by gender. Ein/ei/eitt, tvei/tvæ/tvau, fire/fjóra/fjògó, fem/fimm(fem is both masculine and feminine). If you're just talking about the numbers 2 and 4, you say tvó and fíre respectively.

    • @dan74695
      @dan74695 3 года назад

      The grammar also reminds me of Icelandic. Vallemål still has the dative case.
