Its so interesting how Icelandic in sentences is so hard to understand for me as a (Frisian)Dutch (compared to Dan/Nor/Swed) but seperated Icelandic words, just like the numbers are really similar to Dutch and Frisian(mixed)
I am advanced level in Dutch and intermediate level in Norwegian / German / Swedish and beginner level in in Icelandic / Danish / Old Norse / Faroese / Gothic and the three Frisian languages and all other Germanic languages, and I can understand a lot of Icelandic and Old Norse now - I’ve been learning lots of new words lately...
Because it’s not necessary, the other numbers are more neutral sounding with neutral endings, so they sound right with all three - the first 3 or 4 numbers have different forms in many languages that come from Proto European (which is the first proper / true language with properly constructed words and grammar created by a dude a long time ago that all other true languages come from or are inspired by etc) and it’s because the language is created in such a way that everything sounds right, and certain endings do not sound right when used with feminine, for example, so the ending had to be modified, so that it sounds right!

Why isn't numbers above 4 conjugated?
I doubt there is a reason.
