      @Chopsy The Homicidal Maniac this is literally the reason why... i can never understand why those who say "durhurhur he's gonna have clothes on anyway" cant put two and two together.
      He might make different variations of the same character from this one model.

      @@resikek1207 aye, normally I would NEVER start from scratch on any character unless its something I have never done before. He can either sell this model or re-use it himself and save a TON of time = winwin!

      It’s a good practice. For example: it’s makes the process of clothing easier and accurate; you can reuse the model.

      Probably because he can do it reasonably fast and in case he needs to have the character shirtless or whatever.

      You see why he needed to do the body when he made the pants, the Quad and calf was already mixed pretty much just from extending the lower body out to form pants

    Dude, I'm 1 minute in and all I can say is that I love how you literary model in the tendons and muscle strains before you refine with more details. I can see how that helps the build up of the final piece. Quite impressive.

      I would definitely buy it and also be a fan. Impressive work and lots of information, the problem to sell this is that this is a timelapse not a tutorial, if he made one version that is slower and he give us some tips would be amazing (or another character teaching us some tips, pls :3).
      Georgian avasilcutei amunet full character is a great course and have a similiar workflow, but for the purpose of the tutorial is more simple, not heavy on cloths and attachments, and he uses DDO to texture (not a problem but i work with substance u.u but you still can learn a lot).

    I seen you remade the clothes in marvelous designer on the base mesh, not this sculpt. Did you use this sculpt in any way to get the final result or did you scrap this and start back from square 1 with marvelous designer?
    Just wondering cause I’m just now Getting into sculpting and don’t know what I should sculpt and what should be made separate and attached. Mainly clothes and accessories

      I did the clothes twice just to get the proportions and how it should look in the end, I didn't go into detail on the sculpt and made it pretty quickly. In fact, this was not required, it was just that the character was complex and it was easier for me to understand its structure.

    Just to confirm, you didn't have to do any retopology or unwrapping for this did you?
    You were just able to texture directly on the mesh by painting?

      Cheezecake 73 his final submission is 99k tris, so it had to be retopologised and uv mapped

      K1TT3N where does it say that? And he literally painted it on, why would he have to UV map it at that point?
      Maybe he made it into a low poly version, but are you saying he made perfect faces on this mesh?

      sometimes when you sculpt you just make it worse than before, I make a duplicate so that you can quickly compare and find out whether there is progress or not

    how important is the size of the model (lets say in centimeters) ?

      Not critical, but I try to always stick to real sizes from the very beginning. For this character, I initially set a height of 170 cm. If the model is small, it will be difficult to work with it in other programs such as Marvelus or 3d max, the model can always be scaled, but it’s better to put the correct size at start.

      @@IlyaGagarin if I put the model 170cm my brush size on 1% is kinda too big sculpting details,pores etc. There is always something I need to do without alphas by hand.

      @@fractalelement857 Zbrash works oddly enough with the size, it sets the brush size depending on the first subtul, try to create a 30x30 cm cube and import it into a new scene in ZBrash, then load your model into the cube scene using zplugin - subtoolMaster - multiAppend, then the size of your brush will depend from the cube. This should help.

      You don't really need a full T-pose most of the time. If the person who will be rigging it can do with that then it's all fine

    Awesome work :) I love you captured the whole pipeline, very clean from start to finish !
    I was wondering though, where did you fin these 3D scan you open as Ztools in this first part ? They look like the scans we see in Anatomy For Sculptors ! I would love to have some of these !
