My favorite piece of in game trivia: If Chrom is Inigo’s father and initiates the recruitment conversation with him, Inigo will mention that he has the Brand in his right eye. This is the only mention of any of Chrom’s other potential children having the Brand.
Huh. I always wondered why so many people liked to suggest Chrom as Inigo's father. Now that makes more sense. Plus that make Inigo and Owain cousins, which definitely makes a lot of sense.
Weirdly enough, in fates, if you give laslow the fire emblem accessory, laslow will say he doesn’t have the royal blood to perform the awakening ritual, kinda shooting Chrom x Olivia in the face in favor of pie.
Daniel pintado Mmmm, pretty sure simply being able to use the sword doesn't mean they can perform the Awakening ritual, the candidate can die after all.
@@Danitron904 Still not happy how Intelligent Systems likes to shove Sumia in our faces lmao if she isn't an already pre-established wife for Chron for the plot then she ain't canon, especially if they gave us optimizable other candidates for Chrom and Sumia.
Yeah, it surprised me too when I found out that Azura's actually a glass cannon. She made a fantastic Kinshi Knight, but she capped strength and that prevented her from nabbing some kills.
I mean, Azura and Effie are tied in base strength growth, it just so happens that Effie also gets quite a bit more from class and bases, and Azura doesn't have the bulk to use it well.
Azura's actually a pretty effective dodge tank, especially in her base class, so even as a Songstress, she can be used offensively. It's just that, even if she's strong and fast, she's more useful as support in her base class due to the skills she learns.
If you don't recruit (or worse yet, kill) Legault, he'll still appear for the next chapter and hand Hector & co the famous "We need disguises" cloaks. Even worse, regardless of his state of being, Eliwood will simply respond to this with "Thanks Legault!". If this isn't the best trivia then I don't know.
Did you know that fiona's stats in rd were the result of a development error? They had planned fiona to be a level 1 cavalier, but later decided that she should be higher level for joining time. However, in the transition of bumping up her level, they forgot to bump up her stats to equal that of a level 9 cavalier. In otherwords, Fiona is a level 9 cav with level 1 stats.
It's true because in the map data files, Fiona is shown to be a LV1 Cav at her join time, and then then LV6 on 1-E (indicating a test run of the developers). Her class stats are disproportionately low compared to the male variant, so this might well be the stats they did not bump up specifically. Very likely to be a developer oversight since when you compared all other units against their bases, their 'rating' is fairly close to matching up, which Fiona matches up with being LV1 (comparable to Micaiah or Laura) but certainly not LV9 (Nolan). The exception to this is her HP but could have been perfectly valid at LV1 since they specifically gave her a low growth for the stat. Either that, or it's the only stat they bumped up when increasing her level, which is really questionable. Fiona was, at some stage in development, a legitimate Est unit who could be really good by her first promotion (would still be a bad unit for efficiency purposes, but would pay-off a lot sooner due to faster EXP and could be made decent by part 3 if babied). But in the release she's left with bases disproportionate to her level, meaning she gains EXP at a rate that doesn't actually allow her to be good until possibly tier 3 (in which most units can be made into powerhouses anyway...).

I know something useless. Matthew Mercer, who voiced Chrom and Ryoma in Awakening and Fates respectively, voices an elephant character in the Netflix movie "Leo the Lion". It's Italian made, released in 2013 on Netflix, but actually made in 2004-2005.
I always figured Sothe's abdomen was exposed just because he was too poor to replace the clothes he used during PoR, so he just kept wearing them despite outgrowing them. Seems I was at least partially right.
But... he's a thief. He could just steal more clothes. Or a small bit of money for new clothes. I get that he doesn't necessarily want to have to but the rest of the Dawn Brigade all seem well enough dressed that Sothe just comes across as out of place.
Wait, they hired Studio Ghibli to do the in-between frames? Isn't that like hiring Industrial Light & Magic to...polish animatronics or something? They're some of the most famous names in the industry and they got given the grunt work, is what I'm trying to get at, and that's weird. Maybe Ghibli just wanted to train some new animators?
mechashadow Early days? Dude, the fire emblem ova came out in 1995. Ghibli has already released: -My neighbor Totoro -Castle in the sky -porco rosso -Kiki’s delivery service It’s not like they were some obscure company.

In between animation pays the bills, particularly while the studio is in between major releases. If it weren't for their grunt work, they likely couldn't have afforded to make their other films, or at least not to the same level of quality that they've become known for over the years.
FE Voice Acting Trivia! 1: Leo's voice actor, Max Mittleman, actually had a roll in two different Shojo anime- "Your Lie in April" and "Your Name." In both circumstances, he played the male lead. Mamoru Miyano also shares this, being a male lead in "Ouran High School Host Club" (Tamaki Suoh) and an antagonist in "Free!" This video may be consisted of "useless trivia" however, I find each of these bits of trivia actually quite fascinating not just because I love all sorts of trivia but because it just feels fascinating on what sorts of information that a series that I love can be shared with the world.
When I'm not learning about useless information on Astronomy, science and the like, I like to spend my free time learning about useless information on video games. Thanks, Pavise, for filling the niche part of my brain with said knowledge. You are doing god's work. :)
Useless trivia: Chrom has the same VA as Shigure. Now imaging Chrom singing "Lost in thoughts all alone" Same goes for Ryoma and Azama since Matt Mercer voiced them too.
Kagero from Fates is the ONLY fan-service character who has a LEGITIMATE REASON TO BE CLAD IN SUCH REVEALING ATTIRE. Some female ninja were blessed with an alluring body, and used it as a means of sensually distracting their target before slitting their throat.

So I doubt Charlotte's outfit is purely because of her class but instead the smart marriage of character and class.

At least Audrey didn't touch the Fire emblem Main theme. It would have gone from singing about strategy to *SoFTeN THe EneMY WItH My SmAllEr UNitS ThEn KiLl wITh FREDERICK!*
You say that, but the version sung in the early Japanese commercials basically translates to a similarly silly explanation of the core mechanics of the game, so technically that would be a *good* translation. :-P
Wait... Wasn't Audrey the girl who raved about how Chrom and Xander were her husbandos during the treehouse for Warriors? Pretty weird to think that she reviewed Awakening and went on to translate for Fates.
I've fallen in love with the Fire Emblem series even after only having played the most recent two games, Fates and Echoes. However, I want to play more of the games in the series. I'm super excited to hear about the Switch game and even though I thought Fates had a just fine story, I hope that it ends up more like Echoes in quality of stories. Also my worthless Fire Emblem fact is that the only person that ever physically changes position in their text picture things (the big ones that take up half the screen) is a character in Fates named Mitama. She is the daughter of Azama. In her angry pose she breaks the pen she is holding. No one else move anything more than their face in these poses.
My semester project in one of my classes is on localization in video games and how it can affect the way the audience experiences the game so that bit about Lost in Thoughts's songwriting is actually super useful to me. Thank you for sharing this knowledge
In the prerelease of fire emblem path of radiance, Ike’s name was gonna be Paris and he was gonna be a royal. The interesting tidbit is that priam’s Japanese name is Paris.
Ummm... Do either of you actually know anything about Fire Emblem? Even the most casual of fans can tell you this is false. Unless you’re only talking about the games released in America.
Dude, pretty characters are part of Fire Emblem's identity. Also, did you know the Ancient Language of the Tellius games can be translated to English, as each character corresponds to a letter of the English alphabet, including punctuation marks?
I think my favorite piece of useless Fire Emblem trivia is that the "ancient language" text in the background of some menu screens in Path of Radiance can be decoded and turns out to be a seemingly random Shakespeare quote: "Doubt that the stars are fire/Doubt that the sun does not move/Doubt truth to be a liar/But never doubt I love."
I did know there was a short fire emblem anime. What I didn't know, Marth's Voice actor is Ringabel. Based purely on that knowledge, I don't think that matches Marth's character?
Useless fact: Yuri Lowenthal the modern voice for Marth also voices Eliwood in heroes, in addition to voicing Sasuke from Naruto and Shinra from Durarara’s English dubs.
I think that information on the translation for Lost in Thoughts is actually quite useful. As we all know, the localization for Fates done by Treehouse is an absolute hackjob at best, and it's quite telling of their philosophy that they hired someone who wrote a positive review for Awakening.... to translate the lyrics of Fates' main theme, rather than somebody explicitly skilled in translation.
Roy is one of two characters (the other being Karel) that was originally conceived for the canceled Nintendo 64 title Fire Emblem: Ankoku no Miko that carried over into the rebooted development of what would eventually become The Binding Blade. In the process, Roy's design was altered and his original name, Ike, was changed.
In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, if you look at the character profiles, you may notice that Muarim actually has the same profile description as Mist. Giant, green tigers officially equal loli healbots.
In echoes If after beating the game you switch to Celica you can do the portion of the dungeon youre meant to do with only Alm you can do it with her instead. Also in Morgans mother child A suport with Nowi the you looked a little older part is erased BUT if the mother is Tiki that part remains.
Some more useless trivia: * Spike Spencer isn't the only VA from the Evangelion dub to do the Fire Emblem OVA. The voices of Asuka, Rei, Yui, and Gendo all had voices in the OVA as well. This is due to the OVA being dubbed by the same company as the Evangelion dub. * On the JP side of things, Marths VA (Hikari Midorikawa) has reprised his role ever since. Cain's JP VA (Nobayuki Hiyama) would later voice a more famous Nintendo icon (his grunts and screams in Episode 2 are a massive hint) * The replacement characters of Hermina, Jeanne, Asaello, and Daisy all had portraits that were updated for FE5, but were unused
Both Candace and Nichol, bosses in Fates have evidence in game files of having larger roles, both have critical cut-in portraits. and those initial important roles haven't been forgotten as they are the only capturable boss eligible for votes in the Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legend poll.
My biggest piece of useless trivia also regards Excellus. In the JP version of Awakening, Excellus comments in his battle quote with Say'ri, “After I'm done with you, Say'ri, I could be the next _princess.”_
I... Really liked the English version of Lost in Thoughts. It was really cool and fit the story well. I even have it on my MP3 player just for the hell of it. But just like every single other aspect of Fates, some people love it, some people hate it, and some people are lukewarm. I guess to each his own.
I’ve got two. First of all, Spike Spencer was not the only actor from evangelion in the OVA. I’m fact, most of the cast was made up of the English voices from that show. I don’t remember all of who was who, but I do remember that Lena shared her actress with Asuka. Number two, takumi’s japanese voice actor, Yuki Kaji, once sang a full cover of Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid in Japanese. I’m pretty sure it’s somewhere in RUclips.
Except, I think Spike Spencer hasn't returned as Marth in the games that one: The ADV Films dub used their own translation since the Fure Emblem series localization wasn't existed back then, second: the dub isn't owned by Nintendo themselves and I don't think they knew there was a dub existed, and third: the OVA isn't canon.
Did you know that The only characters to have survived the development of Fire Emblem 64 - Maiden of Darkness, are Roy and Karel? Many of the names were reused, but the characters are not the same. Did you also know that in Fire Emblem Blazing Blade’s 4th chapter the Brigands that show up as reinforcements have C-rank mastery in swords despite that the brigand class normally can’t use swords?

Hilde Schbeiker he's obviously trolling, and fyi that list isn't true for games released in America neither. Fire Emblem Blazing Sword is the first.
Well, melee was released in america before blazing sword. He did say "either of you". Just saying.
I am confusion
When I heard the word Ringabel, my heart actually stopped I love Bravely Default/Second so much X3
I had the same reaction! I hope there's a third game coming.
Vintagetyco I hope so to
Hype for Octopath Traveler too!
OwO Oof tfw you have no Switch
@@vintagetyco4949 Bravely Default 2.
Bravely Second: am i a joke to you?
Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts voices Awakening's Gregor. And Amy Rose voices both Libra AND Aversa! LET THE FANART COMMENCE!!!
All they had to do was let Amalee translate Lost in thoughts, her version was amazing.
"He made his return in Fire Emblem Awakening"
Me: Probebly Marth or idk...
"As Exellus."
Me: XD
Dude, pretty characters are part of Fire Emblem's identity. Also, did you know the Ancient Language of the Tellius games can be translated to English, as each character corresponds to a letter of the English alphabet, including punctuation marks?
I think my favorite piece of useless Fire Emblem trivia is that the "ancient language" text in the background of some menu screens in Path of Radiance can be decoded and turns out to be a seemingly random Shakespeare quote: "Doubt that the stars are fire/Doubt that the sun does not move/Doubt truth to be a liar/But never doubt I love."
Now I'm one step closer to becoming the "Useless Dave" of Fire Emblem.
I did know there was a short fire emblem anime. What I didn't know, Marth's Voice actor is Ringabel.
Based purely on that knowledge, I don't think that matches Marth's character?
Sorry mate, but Spike Spencer really is the VA of Ringabel and Marth, along with Excellus, look it up, it's all there
Useless fact: Yuri Lowenthal the modern voice for Marth also voices Eliwood in heroes, in addition to voicing Sasuke from Naruto and Shinra from Durarara’s English dubs.
I'd love this to be a series if you have more trivia to share :p
These are very interesting facts, thank you! I never knew this information before.
Also the covers are very nice accompaniment
I think that information on the translation for Lost in Thoughts is actually quite useful. As we all know, the localization for Fates done by Treehouse is an absolute hackjob at best, and it's quite telling of their philosophy that they hired someone who wrote a positive review for Awakening.... to translate the lyrics of Fates' main theme, rather than somebody explicitly skilled in translation.
Excellus lookin like hes about to let someone draw 2 cards from their deck.
One thing remember when playing fates is that you could capture the bosses in the deeprealms. Literally made it my goal to capture all of them
Ooh I love lost in thoughts all alone, and I didn't know that. Thanks!
I actually thought Lost in Thought All Alone sounded better with the English lyrics style. It feels too upbeat in the original.
See? I said I'd watch it!!
I actually didn't know any of these. Good work!
Ikuko Nishikawa is a true Fire Emblem hero for me. Thank you for this video, I love to see people passionate about FE, it gives such good vibes.
Loved it!! Definitely need more
This needs to become a series.
OverlordDystroy Yes
In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, if you look at the character profiles, you may notice that Muarim actually has the same profile description as Mist. Giant, green tigers officially equal loli healbots.
That video was amazing and 100% worth my time
Fact: I am the oceans gray waves.
BTW the way you said bellybutton *killed me*
In FE1, if you dare to attack Maria after freeing her from her prison in Chapter 10, she’ll use the battle sprites of bald male cleric.
No trivia is useless in the Quest for Knowledge!
In echoes If after beating the game you switch to Celica you can do the portion of the dungeon youre meant to do with only Alm you can do it with her instead. Also in Morgans mother child A suport with Nowi the you looked a little older part is erased BUT if the mother is Tiki that part remains.
Have some more trivia:
Gilliam is officially left-handed - he mentions it in his support with Garcia.
Some more useless trivia:
* Spike Spencer isn't the only VA from the Evangelion dub to do the Fire Emblem OVA. The voices of Asuka, Rei, Yui, and Gendo all had voices in the OVA as well. This is due to the OVA being dubbed by the same company as the Evangelion dub.
* On the JP side of things, Marths VA (Hikari Midorikawa) has reprised his role ever since. Cain's JP VA (Nobayuki Hiyama) would later voice a more famous Nintendo icon (his grunts and screams in Episode 2 are a massive hint)
* The replacement characters of Hermina, Jeanne, Asaello, and Daisy all had portraits that were updated for FE5, but were unused
Im not surprised that Oliver was designed by the programmers. That explains so much now.
doesn't todd haberkorn... Voice of Natsue from Fairy tail and Death the Kid in Soil eater?
Oh man! I called it. I was joking with my friend and saying that Sothe wore the same clothes in both Tellius games!
ANY INFO REGARDING OUR LORD AND SAVIOR OLIVER IS NOT USELESS!
(Fun video! :D )
I honestly wasn't ready for the first fact, and I am totally OK with that.
Useless trivia is best trivia
This is... so Deep.
Giggity
Both Candace and Nichol, bosses in Fates have evidence in game files of having larger roles, both have critical cut-in portraits.
and those initial important roles haven't been forgotten as they are the only capturable boss eligible for votes in the Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legend poll.
My biggest piece of useless trivia also regards Excellus. In the JP version of Awakening, Excellus comments in his battle quote with Say'ri,
“After I'm done with you, Say'ri, I could be the next _princess.”_
Zepherdict ahaha that doesn’t even work
I... Really liked the English version of Lost in Thoughts. It was really cool and fit the story well. I even have it on my MP3 player just for the hell of it. But just like every single other aspect of Fates, some people love it, some people hate it, and some people are lukewarm. I guess to each his own.
Your videos are super high quality! You definitely deserve more subs
Wait, back up.
Marth is Ringabel?
THIS EXPLAINS SO MUCH.
5:01 I actually pondered that issue before... I had a lot of free time.
i approve of excellus in the thumbnail
2:22
> *sees italian*
> *being italian*
> "wat."
Ah! My knowledge of the emblem has remained exactly the same. Jolly good show!
But MAARRRS!
0:55 Never even heard of him XD
1:35 Really? LOL
2:52 No. Because it doesn't seem off at all to me.
Owain in japanese is ウード which means Laud
My friends and I always used to joke that Sothe's clothes were actually just too small, glad to know that we had the right idea after all XD
Finally, I got an answer to the Belly Button Question.
Now heres a useless trivia!
Did you know the main reason Dismounting is introduced to FE4 boils down into "husbando"?
Chrom eats oranges with the peels on
I always thought Sothe's shirt seemed too small. Turns out I was right.
I've already forgotten most of these facts. The last two are still in my brain though.
There's a boss named Shizas in Gaiden. He is the only character from Gaiden to not appear in Echoes.
That excellus reveal made me crack UP ahahahaha
Useless knowledge?
I'm the king.
2:34 is that the Vanguard youtuber Differentfight?
Jotaro's english VA, Matt Mercer, is also the VA for Chrom.
