Hello my beautiful anti aging friends...missed you all! Just some tips for healthy hair...
Look for conditioners and hair masks that have the following ingredients in them....these ingredients help to moisturize damaged hair....we damage our hair every time we change the natural structure of hair....when we do this, we damage the outer protective layer ( cuticle) which protects the Cortex....
    Protein
    Dimethicone
    fatty alcohols
    coconut oil
olive, avocado, sunflower, almond, jojoba and argan oils...
These will help to reinforce the cortex layer...with moisture
    Neo Cell Collagen +C
    Phyto Hair and nail vitamins
All items mentioned in this video can be found at Ulta, Sally's or online!
    "Questions frequently asked"
Have you had BOTOX or Fillers? NO...I have not had any Botox, fillers or in office procedures....YET...I will not say NEVER...
Please do a HOUSE tour:...I will not be doing a house tour anytime soon...Perhaps if I decide to show DIY projects or decorating tips...BUT I don't have any plans to do them now!
Who is JOELLE: This video explains: • Friendship tag.....Enjoy!

What are you old people doing on YT...We are part of the world too...we are paving the road for YOU ....Listen up...Aging is a part of life...It bites us all in the butt sooner or later.... Remember....it is a Privilege to grow old...many never do!
What are the pink things hanging in the back: They are foot files...they have a special meaning to me...They are there to let a friend know I am always thinking of her ...a hello ...Just like Carol Burnett tugged on her ear to say goodnight to her Grandma..

Welcome Back Tammy, so good to see you again. Great video, wonderful tips. I'm 54 and was TOLD back in my mid 40's I should cut my hair to a more "age appropriate hairstyle" that made me laugh so hard but it also made me angry, now my hair is down to mid-back LOL My hair is very thick, long and coarse but for years I've been masking and using an oil cocktail once a week, without doing it I would have no control, I'd be a frizz ball. lol and I have a fantastic hairstylist who I see every 5-6 weeks for a trim. I avoid heating tools as much as possible and thankfully I have a soft curl in my hair so I can wear it down or put it up. This was a fantastic video. Thank you for sharing your tips. Hugs, Heather

I'm doing them all! I've become obsessed with oils and they have made an incredible difference in my hair. My hair was so dry from too many highlights/bleach and keratin (I overdid it). I do an oil mask/massage at least 3 times per week and leave it in overnight. I use cold pressed castor oil (that I've become obsessed with), jojoba or avacado oil, rosemary, clary sage and tyme essential oils. My hair is extremely fine and it works wonders on it. On days when I don't use the mask, I put a drop of oil in my shampoo. I love the Healing moisture shampoo and conditioner from Lanza (in the greenish colored bottles). Healthy hair makes me happy! Thanks for the video!

I read on line somewhere that you should choose your shampoo based on your scalp and your conditioner based on the hair. My scalp is slightly oily but my hair is dry. So I use to by hydrating shampoo and conditioner and ended up with great looking hair and very oily scalp. Since I started mixing it up with a protein shampoo and hydrating conditioner it has made a world of difference.

My tip that I do five times a week is to eat a sheet of organic nori. It has 78% iodine. My hair stopped falling out after eating it. If I run out and stop eating it for a couple weeks, my hair will start to shed again. It's pretty amazing. I get my nori at Whole Foods. I considered trying Rogaine a year ago, but nori does the trick.

Red Thank you for telling this...My hair keeps coming out. Has always been thick and healthy up to few months ago. My endocrinologist says not due to my thyroid levels as all good. I was on a low carb, high fat diet and have wondered if that triggered this. Loved the diet and had great wt. loss with it, but sure dont like my hair loss. I have learned soooo much from this channel. Sure love and appreciate all the time and effort of Tammy and the people's helpful tips as well. Thank you from a Ky/Ar gal who is trying to anti-age!

Hi Tammy, I really enjoy your videos. I am a lady of African descent and I have very long locs (dreadlocks). I've had them for 7 years and it is my intent to have them forever. The longer lengths are right at my tailbone. I got creative yesterday and decided to give myself a slight trim. I know some may say that's very brave, and it was lol. It was also very rewarding. I didn't take off a lot of length, but a few of the locs did need to have the ends trimmed away. When I finished, I was left with a very sexy, lengthy, layered look that I am loving. For any of your viewers who have locs, the thing to remember is this: less is more. My hair thrives on washing every 2 weeks and maintaining moisture with water and castor oil. Thanks again for all of your helpful and fun videos.

My 64 and my hair is turning white around the bangs and sides in which I don't mind. However, the rest of my hair is fading, so I'm sort of in a dilemma. It is healthy looking though and I love 80 + super model Carmen Dell'Orefice's hair. She is so beautiful and she let her hair go white around 40. I will try the hair mask and oil treatments you spoke of in the video. I am Native American too and I love long hair. I've been growing it long again. My grandma had beautiful white hair down to her waist. I can still remember her combing it. What a vision. I always learn so much from you, thank you Tammy. I changed my photo to a more recent one. I'm happy my hair is growing fast. The snow is almost all melted here in Anchorage. Yeah!

If my hair grew in pure white ( it grows in pure white and ugly gray) and if I had bright blue eye with pink undertones in my skin...I would NEVER color my hair...I think white hair on the right skin tone if FABULOUS....I think you will see a big difference in your hair with masking and oil treatments!!

You know I have serious hair envy! Since I started watching you, I have made major alterations to how I treat my hair. I mask once a week, I visit the hairdresser more often for cut and color, and I often style with velcro rollers. Like you, I love my long hair, and I have no desire to cut it any time soon. You've inspired me to maintain it better in an effort to prove the naysayers wrong. Women of a certain age can rock long hair. Sexy doesn't have an expiration date!

My mom has very dry scalp and can go 3 weeks to a month without washing her hair (also: no smell). She also rollersets her hair when it's wet. She uses the old fashioned (bristly brush inside) rollers with pins. It is a real treat for her to "do" her hair, and she is getting to be 70 this year - still does her own hair, from coloring, to cutting to styling!

I'm so happy to hear you say that you don't follow the "rules" that at a certain age we need to cut our hair. As a little girl I always wanted long hair and my mother would keep it cut so short I looked like a boy with earrings on. LOL I'm in my 40's I do my best to keep my hair in good condition and I swore I'd never have short hair. I don't care if I'm 80 and it's all grey it'll be half way down my back if that's how long I want it. Thanks for the tips, I love doing a coconut oil treatment once a week, I think it gives my hair a nice healthy shine.

YAY, you are back. Great tips, Tammy and of course, you look gorgeous! I'm with you, I will probably have long hair till the day I die :-) You said it here, but I want to reiterate for anyone who reads...You HAVE TO TRIM OFF DEAD ENDS! There are products that may "claim" to temporarily mend split ends, but a trim is what really gets rid of them. XOXO

Tammy, you have beautiful hair! I agree with you on damage from chemical treatments. I had to cut off my hair a year ago and start over, now I have healthy new hair. I shampoo when I take my shower and it keeps my hair shiny, soft & strong, so my hair grows like a weed. The "sisters," rarely comment on my hair but just yesterday a caucasian woman remarked on how beautiful my hair is. Thanks, for these tips. :) I subscribed!

We're the same age and have the same hair length philosophy - Grow as long as you like no matter your age. 20 years ago a younger co-worker and iI were sitting next to each other at the hairdresser, she asked the hairdresser "don't you think she (meaning me) should cut her long hair, she's too old. The hairdresser looked at my hair and said "why? she has gorgeous hair, she should grow it as long as she likes." HAH! I subscribed yesterday and am marathoning through your videos. Love this. Bisou!

Thank you as always for the great tips and advice. I have coarse/curly/keratin treated hair and use an oil mask (olive oil, avocado oil, argan oil, almond oil, coconut oil, black seed oil, castor oil, wheat germ oil). I mix all of them in a new bottle and use them as a hair mask weekly. Very hydrating. Promotes hair growth.

Welcome back! You have the most GORGEOUS hair! I think that brushing is actually bad for the hair and I try to brush mine as little as possible and love wide toothed combs. Heating oil before you put it on your hair is really good as it will absorb more. I believe rules were made to be broken! :-) Great video as always CMT ♥ Hugs, Elle

Great tips Tammy! I am one who has curl in my hair, and like you - it isn't a "cute" curl, it's wavy in some spots, curly in others and frizzy too! Ugh! My hair is normal to dry, and for me, I only wash my hair 2x per week, I use a good Moraccan or Kukui Nut Oil shampoo, good conditioners to add moisture, add a good Moraccan Oil mousse, blow dry it straight with a boar brush and then - honestly, it looks really good the days in between washing. I just comb it each morning and that's it. I am 50 years old, and have never colored my hair. I have some gray, I call them my natural highlights. ;) I agree, masks are so helpful! I use Coconut Oil as a mask; or a combo of olive oil and avocado as a mask, and I also buy masks or deep conditioners too. For us curly/frizzy hair girls - moisture is key to controlling that frizz!

Loved it Tammy! My super dry, naturally curly hair doesn't like to be washed every day, but my troublesome scalp does! Thank you so much for the the tip re soaking walnuts! I had just recently purchased a large bag from Costco and found them to be really bitter. I experimented with about a cup of walnuts in a glass bowl of water. I was shocked to see the water instantly turn brown! I changed out the water several times and it was discolored every time. The soaked nuts are so much better!!

You work that gorgeous hair, Ms. Tammy!
Just wanted to put in my two cents... Henna is a great alternative to synthetic hair color. Of course it won't work if you want to make your hair lighter, but I dye it just slightly darker, with a bit of a red tint (I use a henna/indigo blend because henna is very red). Honestly, my favorite thing is that it thickens your hair. The henna binds with your hair protein, and that's awesome for someone like me with quite thin hair! Makes my hair way nicer, thicker, and shinier than it ever was naturally.

Tammy, amen to the hair washing. I have been battling "bad" hair for some time now. Previously, (before 40) I had really healthy hair. Maybe it wasn't always beautiful or the best style/cut, but it was at least healthy. What has happened to it in the last 5 years is just beyond me. I'm at a loss here. I am gonna try everything you suggest here in the hopes to bring it back to life. Wish me luck. Thank you.

I always had long shiny healthy hair until I started menopause. Unfortunately, I started about 37 years old. My hair started thinning and was very drab looking. I have been wearing my hair short since about 40 years of age. I am in love with your hair. I never had as much hair as you have but I am thinking that with all this information I might have to give it a go again. I really do miss my long hair.

Loved your hair advice CMT. I am 65, have thinning, fine hair. Always a challenge to find something that won't weigh my locks down and make them greasy looking. Some ladies were saying they have perm damaged hair. Julian Farel has a good line for color treated and damaged hair. It worked wonders on permed locks (don't ask, won't ever do THAT again!.)

We put a filter on our shower head but I don't think it's helped much. Ever since we moved to this hard water area, my hair always looks a little brassy. I SO agree with you on the dimethicone! I have dry, thick, fluffy, frizzy, kinky hair, probably from years of coloring it at home, though I have also had it professionally colored and highlighted in the past. Now that I have stopped coloring it and have let it come back to my natural color over the last 2 years, it is silkier and healthier and easier to manage. I have also switched to sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner and it has made a big difference. I wash it every2-3 days, if I washed it more frequently it would be drier than straw! I always use a heat protectant when applying heat to it, and use coconut or Argan oil on the ends, and my stylist said I have extremely strong and healthy hair now! :) As I get older, I have realized that my hair and my skin won't take care of itself, so I'd better start doing it, lol!

Great tips! I totally agree with the bacteria on the scalp. I personally wash my hair everyday for that reason. I think it really is a misconception that you shouldn't wash your hair every day. It really depends on the individual, their scalp health and hair type. I am a hairstylist and people are shocked when I tell them it okay to wash their hair everyday. If you have an oily scalp or any scalp issues it is a must in my opinion.

I have problems if I do, I use a turkish rag, damp with water, wipe my hair, pat in a bit of oil on ends and its great, air dry. Hugs,

Very factual, informative video! I would like to reiterate on the need for vitamin D. I went through a bout with half dollar sized balding all over my head. After much research and many doctor and dermatologist visits, it was determined through blood work-up, that my vitamin D level was EXTREMELY low. I am happy to say that after starting a higher dose of a vitamin D regiment, (as advised by my doctor) my hair has grown back! Thank you for ALL your videos Tammy. You are such a delightful and uplifting woman!

Great hair tips, Tammy! I bought the L'Anza neem oil because of you, and I like it very much. Everyone always talks about combing their conditioner/hair mask though their hair, which is what I've always done. However, it wasn't so great for my fine, tangly hair. I was finding it very difficult to comb though my hair, even when using a wide tooth comb. I noticed a lot of hair coming out while I was combing, despite trying to be very gentle. I finally realized this was not the best for my hair. Now, I just work the conditioner/mask through with my hands and then leave it. When I rinse it out, most of the tangles fall out and it's much easier to comb.

CMT, I already do most of the things you suggested. My hair was always thin and fine. In the last 10 years I have been taking hair supplements and masking and also less heat. I eat a relatively healthy diet. What a difference it has made! My BFF is a hairdresser and we only see each other every couple of years . She came to visit me last July and couldn't believe the shape my hair was in! She had brought me my usual goodie box of hair products for fine and thinning hair. Needless to say I don't need those products anymore! Yeah!!!!! She just sent me a new box filled with pureology and redken products. I have fallen in love with all of them! The only other thing I'm doing differently is I'm drinking anywhere from 6-8, 16.9 ounces of water every day! I know that is helping alot also! This was a wonderful video! It's reconfirmed that what I'm doing is good, healthy and my news hair is the proof! Big Hugs! Deb

I remember the first time I watched one of your videos, you took your hair out of the rollers, and I literally gasped. You have the most gorgeous hair, Tammy. I agree with your hair philosophy--who says women need to cut their hair short as they age?! Pshhh...I joke with my daughters that I will never have "old lady" hair. So happy to see you back! I so agree about taking the best care of your hair. I love to heat various oils and apply them to my hair for a few hours several times a week. I like to rotate the oils and make up my own mixtures. I apply them to wet hair, put on a shower cap and then a turby towel. I do my housecleaning or reading for a few hours then I shower and shampoo the oils out. after I dry my hair I always rub some coconut, argon, marula,or olive oil into my hands and run them through my dry hair before I style it. That keeps the styling products that often contain alcohol from drying out the ends. Tammy you really have it going on when it comes to really feeding your hair and skin what it needs to be shiny and healthy from the inside and the outside. Thanks for your great tips. Hugs, Susie

Miss Tammy~Good to see you back and rejuvenated. You've saved my hair!! A few videos back you'd mentioned the Kerastase Elixir Ultime, shampoo and especially the masque. They've become my holy grail hair products. My hair was "SEVERELY DAMAGED" from over processing. I'd went from full, thick, curly hair, to a virtual tumbleweed. BUT, I'm happy to report my hair has been restored through a disciplined routine including hair products. I too will continue to have long hair that's healthy.
    Sweet wishes,

One of the harshest things on your hair is shampoo; conditioning cleansers are so much better for hair health. Changed the life of my hair! Started with Wen products and now use a Biolage/Matrix conditioning cleanser because of the price. Only have to cleanse my hair ONLY twice a week when I don't use shampoo. Your natural hair oils are removed by too much shampoo. I was a daily shampooer until I tried conditioning cleansers! Give it a try!

The coconut oil from sam's is the best!!!add 1 TBSP to a cup of hot coffee then froth in a blender! I put it on my face once a week, I use it for oil pulling my teeth... The neon cell collagen vitamin I have been taking for a couple of years.. My hair and nails grow like weeds but I eat my pistachios every day then I will change up for almonds or walnuts... I eat an avocado every day bc I put it in my smoothies that I drink every morning... Great tips! For me, tea tree oil does wonderful things. It's good for both scalp and hair. Pure tea tree oil can be a little hard to find these days and a bit pricey, but even if you find a blended oil that has a high concentration of tea tree in it, it's worth getting. Oddly enough, it's good for both dry and oily scalps and it's a natural anti-bacterial. :)

Great hair tips Tammy thanks for sharing. I need to be better about doing a weekly hair mask. I have one, but always forget to use it. I use to do a lot of swimming and the chemicals in the pool can really damage and dry out your hair. So here are my tips for swimmers.
    1. Wet your hair and put conditioner (if you have swimmers conditioner that's even better) in your hair, then put on your swim cap.
Doing that one step will greatly reduce the amount of chlorine your hair will absorb.
    2. Wash and condition hair immediately after swimming (preferably with a swimmers shampoo and conditioner).
    Hope this helps.

Great tips as usual! I love your long hair. Here is what I do with mine.... I am trying to grow mine long. It always stays at collar bone length because it just breaks off. So... I have gone to some extreme levels to help it. Less is more. I have not colored it in over a year, I stopped all heat tools in the last ten months (except for special occasions), I bought a silk pillow case to sleep on, I keep a good hair scissors in my bathroom and trim split ends as I see them, I don't use any shampoo with sulfates, I cut back a lot on washing and brushing my hair (thank god messy buns are in style), I co-wash once a week instead of using shampoo. I love protein HOWEVER, too much protein was making my hair brittle and break off, so I make sure to always rinse my hair good when I use it, and only use protein leave ins once in a while ("protein sensitive" is an actual problem for some people). My hair is starting to feel a lot healthier. My hair has always been weak and fine. These things are helping, and my hair is finally getting softer and longer.

Thank you! I feel exactly the way you do about your wearing your hair they way you want!. It amazing how there is still pressure and comments made about mature women to cut and/or wear shorter hairstyles. I have fine hair but alot of it. My hair takes a bit longer to dry due to the amount of hair per my stylist. I take extra care to protect and care for my hair. Im blessed to have no major medical issues and Im a regular at my stylist keeping my hair at my longer length. I also have no intention to cut my hair until I want to! Your hair is beautiful, healthy, styled and is perfect for your personality.

Thanks Tammy. This video is extremely helpful. My hair is 'new' hair sort of. I lost all of it when I was going through chemo (eyelashes and eyebrows too). My hair came back rather wiry but after cutting the chemo curls out, 3 years later I now have my hair back. It is slightly different than it was before (Wish my eyebrows and eyelashes had come back in - they are not what they used to be at all). I have noticed that my hair seems drier now than it was before, very thick, very fine, all the same as it was pre-cancer, but it's rather frizzy. I am looking forward to trying masks, I think that should help. Your videos are always so helpful, so appreciated.

If you live by a Beauty Brands they have a sale on all high end LITERS of shampoo and conditioners every July (I believe that's when it is) where they price them at $12.98. I stock up for the entire year during this sale. My favorite conditioner normally retails for $49, but I get several during this sale. If you compare this price and liter size, this actually makes these high end hair products cheaper than those from the drug store.

We've missed you CMT!!! I am right there with you on the washing I have the exact same type of as you. MIne has natural volume which helps with styling and keeping a style but when I wake up it's yuck. Between the hot flashes and the curl my hair looks like i've been gardening in 100+ temps all day. I don't feel clean either if I do not wash my hair daily. I'm a stylist and I tell people that it's better for the hair to not wash it daily if they can get away with it, but I also tell them that I wash mine daily and I use good products to compensate for the loss of hydration and natural oils. :) Great video and welcome back

I would like to add to your brushing rules that it's also important to not rake through the hair harshly when it's wet as the hair is very fragile when it's wet. In fact, it's best (in my opinion) to spray a light detangler or leave-in conditioner before brushing/combing when wet and then go in with a wide tooth comb when my hair is wet (combing gently). Another good tip is to rough dry the hair to about 80% before round brushing or whatever we do to finish out the style (especially with fine hair). I have fine hair as well and I find that with fine hair the products I use for styling and/or heat protection work better after i have rough dried it and before I round brush it as it roughs up the cuticle and opens it up to help your product penetrate better :) I cannot agree more about keeping the concentrator on your hair dryer. Not only does it protect the hair from over heating, but it helps prevent fly-aways when round brushing. (again, especially with fine hair). ;) ok that's the end of my beauty school knowledge. lol.
