Great video on growing onions, thank you for sharing!!!!! I also like it how you've recycled a plastic bottle as your watering can, awesome!!!

I try to re-use any plastic - I use the same pots year after year.

Very informative video, thanks! I have always grown from onion sets but think I will have a go from seeds after watching your video. Regards Keith

Up until this year I have always used sets but have had disappointing results. I have had a bumper crop this season growing from seed and will grow onions this way from now on. Keep safe and good luck with your growing.

I have ground which is underwater for months in the Winter so onion sets would just rot... I have had much better result with seeds... My ground seems to suit ailsa craig.

Do you know what the NPK is of the liquid fertilizer that you use? TY

Is that sand in the plastic tray?

      It is compost. Keep safe.

Is there a way to retrieve seeds from them/regrow them?

You can save the seeds but I have never done it. Keep safe.

Let the onion bolt. Usually if it's too dry or to hot it will send up a rigid stalk with a flower on top. Let that flower stay there until it dies. It will get little white things on the end and as they die and dry it will have very small black seeds inside. Let it dry but not to the point the pods open and drop the seeds. Seed saving is good way to save money. Plus you can share them. You always let the best plants go to seed. Good luck

When left covered in a warm dark place for few weeks, won't fungus start growing on the compost??
If that happens for anyone, what could have been the reason?

Not sure what you mean. When germinating seeds they are kept in warm light place not dark. Keep safe.
