Hi Nigel, For us newbie/useless veg gardeners, this series will be a real boon and so many thanks for putting it together. One comment on this particular one - I got a bit overwhelmed by all the different compost brands you used at the various stages and wondered if the change of type is a necessary one for optimum results or just what you had to hand on the day of filming. Thanks!
Hello and welcome to the channel 😀. In general, for sowing seed, have the compost as fine as possible preferably sieved and with no lumps or twigs (mole hills are good) and for potting on any multipurpose will do. Potting on is done for a few reasons....the plant roots need more room to grow hence the bigger pot, and also compost only contains enough plant food for about six weeks, so the new compost add more food 😀 🌻Nigel.............MuddyBootz Allotment🌻🌻

Fantastic video and info. I've got some sets in the ground on the allotment already but I'm also going to be trying Alisa Craig and red baron from seed. So this was spot on. Cheers Nigel. Hope all is well 😊👍
Gook luck with the seed onions, once you have grown one from seed you will be converted 😀
Thanks for watching 😀👍
