    Trivia you may already know: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rip-offs flooded the comic book industry in the late 1980, before the comic was a cartoon, movie, or videogame. People saw how TMNT became a huge hit despite being printed in black and white on crappy paper and suddenly there were dozens of comics with names like "Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters." This was particularly annoying because TMNT was a parody of Frank Miller's Daredevil and Ronin comics, and these rip-offs were selling themselves as parodies of a comic that was already a parody.

    • @handsomebrick
      @handsomebrick 5 лет назад +1

      I heard from somewhere that Power Pachyderms was a TMNT ripoff made by Marvel themselves; if true, then they parodied someone who was parodying them, they literally created a parody of a parody of their own comic.

    • @noneofyourbusiness4616
      @noneofyourbusiness4616 5 лет назад +2

      @@handsomebrick EC Comics did something slightly like this. Mad Magazine was so popular that there were many knock-off competitors hitting the market (including, of course, "Cracked"). So, EC decided to produce their own Mad knockoff called "Panic." This pissed off Harvey Kurtzman, the main creator of Mad, so when he left the company they got the guy who did "Panic" to take over Mad Magazine.

Most of the games were horribly limited, and only demo of MK2 and MK3 could provide you some fun... that is, if you could find another player. So I've played way more Ninja Rabbits than a even a bored kid should. Now I think, if that was a demo of the game, or maybe the publisher just put the whole game on the disc, not caring about it's legal status. Good times... It is fair to say that I have absolutely no recollection of the particular delightfully insane games mentioned here...it is fair to say that back in the day I preferred to play shoot-em-ups or platformers that did not involve having to punch anything. I think that by and large, back in the day, playing any kind of beat-em ups involved sometimes dubious collision detection, whether or not hardware sprites were involved, or even if whatever bitchen' custom graphics architecture was employed in the good ol' days of proper arcade machines. Basically, if I had a spaceship that could shoot stuff at other spaceships, then the chances of besting the enemy was mostly reliable. As a side note though...thinking of the later years of true Bullet Hell, like Raiden and such...where...were...the...WINGMEN? What insane dictator could elect to spend whatever insane amount of capital on building so many adversaries, many of them taking up an entire screen (esp. with the later Raiden & such games)...why would such a dictator do that, if there was just one aircraft that was taking on his entire military resources? And also give out free weapons upgrades along the way...WHYYYYYYYYYY? It is Friday, and I am happy.

    I remember playing Ninja Rabbits and International Ninja Rabbits on the PC. Believe it or not I kind of enjoyed the latter game. Thought it had nice graphics. Of course, the graphics where pretty much the only saving grace, the gameplay was horrible. The 1990 Ninja game from Black System on the CPC was actually a Public Domain game that was first released as a type-in listing. Their authors published many games this way. However, a compilation for the laziest people who didn't bother to type all the DATA lines was released, hence this is why you claim having downloaded a cracked version.
