GE Washing Machine Lid Lock Disable / Bypass by Modifying the Striker!
Obviously operating the washing machine with the the lid open can be VERY hazardous so don't stick your hand(s) in there when the machine is operating at all !
The part is WH01X31219 LID LOCK STRIKER and it was about 10-13 dollars shipped.
I do recommend using two piece of blue tape for added stability/security so the striker does not move.
