You’re wonderful I’m glad I found your videos. I am a 32 year old mother and I have always LOVED design and decorating. Take me under your wing! This is exactly the kind of content I’ve been searching for! Can we become friends 🙂

Welcome, Regina!! I have 3 daughters just slightly older than you and will gladly take you as a bonus daughter. My instructional videos are very much done with a younger audience in mind. One of my goals is to organize playlists for my videos. Hopefully, it will make it easy to focus on learning about design and decorating. Let me know if you have specific questions, and I will try to address them in the videos!

This is seriously the video I have been waiting for my whole life. Thank you so much. Just these little common sense things to you that we were not trained to do are so helpful in our every day lives when we can’t hire an expert and we’re face to do it ourselves. I really appreciate this video so much that I shared it with two other people. I’m saving it for a resource. ❤❤❤ I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best video ever.

This is such a valuable video!! You have perfectly articulated the approach that my family has innately taken to the interiors of their homes! Although we aren't an "interior design" family, we are in a wide array of the arts so I think that sense of proportion and color has given us the confidence to decorate in a way that works well and looks timeless. One tip that I use with people who have asked for my help is to start with a beloved object and base the overall color scheme on that - a painting or a pillow or a vase or a piece of fabric etc. Pick 2ish colors, add a dark and a neutral. Then try to understand if those colors are warm or cool in tone, muted or primary in saturation. Those underpinnings, ie a limited color palette and and understanding of their temperature, can be so valuable in getting the look you want without a lot of trial and error.

Also, my very kind and gracious grandmother also thought "labels on tables" was tacky so she always decanted the OJ and the milk out of their labelled cartons into jugs and pitchers :-) Even the best have their limits!!

Pottery Barn has some nice pre-made Belgain linen drapes. If you want custom drapes, a local fabric store should be able to give you the name of a seamstress who could do the work. For more high end fabrics, a decorator/designer will have accounts with the exclusive suppliers. And Wayfair carries a good assortment of hardware.
