It's too heavy, I can't cope.
Oh
11:10 "Are these extremely really long levels?" Dude... that's a single fight.
not really, seeing as they repeat it throughout multiple fights
😂 this track first drops in the levels big open area just after you get the divine glorious rocket launcher and first upgrade....it hits hard, as do you, as intended 😂
8:06 “What is this riff?”
A lawnmower. A fucking lawnmower.
ITS A FUCKING LAWNMOWER MAN
ITS STILL A FUCKING LAWNMOWER, MAN I CANT EVEN!
@@themagiccookie2614 AND IT IS STILL A MOTHERFUCKING LAWNMOWER. STILL. HOLY SHIT I AM LOSING MY FUCKING SHIT OVER HERE A FUCKING LAWNMOWER
@@CricetoFunni We're experiencing a net loss of shit so grandoise even the global economy changed their best practices to collectively loose their shit. It's quite baffling, my good friend.
Chainsaw
Cultist Base is one of the heaviest tracks in Eternal by far, it’s all synthesised sounds yet it hits harder than some of the guitar heavy tracks.
theyre all about as heavy i reckon. except nekrovol of course, its heavy as shit
I need more of that
It’s perfect for the mission
Fyi, that "siren sound" is a synthesized lawnmower. No joke, no lie, just how he synthed a chainsaw in the doom 2016 soundtrack
We only have proof that Mick used a lawnmower in The Only Thing They Fear Is You. It's not in Cultist Base. However. Mick did use a chainsaw synth for Cultist Base.
He really saw his lawnmower and thought "Damn, that could be a nice instrument."
I mean, he used Actual Real Human Bones in the making of Spinal's Theme in Killer Instinct.
I actually hear it now that you mention it
Lawnmower is for The Only Thing They Fear Is You, This track does use a Chainsaw, but not every aggressive synth you hear is a lawnmower or Chainsaw. Ill tell you with confidence that the synth/pedal mainly used in this track is the Metasonix KV-100. Mick DOES utilize regular synths you know...
"What is happening in these games?"
Ripping and tearing most likely.
So, I work with chainsaws. I have come to a realization about the tones, and how he does it. He'll use smaller engines for higher tones, and let the rpms build, then switch saws. It's brilliant, you can feel him feather the throttle if you know the haptics heheh
Lol awesome
The phrase "everything is an instrument" comes to mind. Imagine a bored forester cutting down trees while imitating the riffs of cultist base.
I can't say anything for Eternal (I've not played it) but I swear Mick Gordon found the secret code to really embody Doom. I seriously cannot envision a modern Doom without Mick's music. It truly is *the* perfect soundtrack for blasting through demon infested industrial sites on Mars.
My friend…you are missing out in some pure testosterone
well, seems like his pursuit of perfection brought him into deadline hell and eventually complete divorce with bethesda
@@angeltensey Yet the Doom eternal dlc' had some of the greatest bangers, thanks to the guiding frame he established back in 2016, and much much credit to David and Andrew. We should be thankful to all three of them!
@@themagiccookie2614 i think that in terms of catchiness, TAG soundtrack is big big downgrade. they lack motion and complexity. but just as soundtrack these are fairly OK.
@@themagiccookie2614 this aged well
"i just imagine a really dark setting"
why yes *CULTIST BASE*
One of the brightest levels in the whole game lmao
Ah, it always amazed me how Mick Gordon goes from "Here's the drop" to "JK here's the real one" and then continues with "Ok i lied THIS is the drop" and this whole process just repeats until the music is over.
8:02 i felt very happy seeing that someone else was hit as hard as I was by that part at the point of almost crying (no joking, I almost cried out of excitation first time listening to that)
it's like he recorded himself chainsawing through a 10 string guitar
"Is it ever really over with Mick Gorden" no and we love it
lol except when he got fuckin canned LOL
Hey so a little bit of background info for you, with the songs they tend to get chopped up when they end up in the game and they are for an entire level each time.
usually when you are not killing demons the more ambient parts of the song will be playing at various points in the level whilst playing and then when you get into the action and the demons start coming through portals the music will kick into gear and the heavier sections will play. Hence why there is a need for such a range and diversity in the songs Mick composes and it is nothing short of insane ! the man is an absolute legend and I really couldn't imagine the games without him the sound track lends so much to the overall feel and is the heart of the game in my opinion.
Flesh and metal, and skullhacker ARE DEFINITELY ones to do from the DOOM 2016 soundtrack
Skullhacker is an absolute sledgehammer of a track. It's definitely among my favourites from 2016
I know it's been said to death, but there is a level of experiencing this music that is only possible while playing the game. When the OST adapts to your gameplay it hits extra hard.
weee wooo weeee wooo
there is no guitar in this track if i remember correctly
Damn dude he threw the kitchen sink at this one
All of this Doom has reminded me of something related but different, so I'll make it a formal request:
meganeko - The Cyber Grind (Ultrakill Soundtrack). I think you'd enjoy that rollercoaster!
While on that topic, Into the fire would also be awesome
Do 'Blood Swamps' next it's not done by Mick Gordon but it slaps hard. It's from the DLC of The Ancient Gods PT1.
The reason why Ancient Gods soundtrack is comparable to Mick's is because they scooped up Andrew Hulshult to work on it. He's not Gordon, but he's made some incredible game OSTs.
@@vahlok1426 Don't forget Levy too ;)
@@lolwot7004 love levy's tracks
Immora is better imo, but still, you do you. David Levy carried TAG2 though, ngl.
YES YES YES YES YES
So to answer your question, Doom Eternal is the world's fastest survival horror game. You get locked in giant areas full of enemies and items, and you have to keep running to avoid getting hit, all while managing limited resources and threading between enemies. You are constantly losing health and ammo, and constantly given opportunities to replenish both, if you're fast enough. Every item you unlock or new enemy type you meet increases the speed of combat in some way. It is absolutely balls to the wall
I agree the only difference is it’s the demons who fear us
you dont get locked in giant areas full of enemies, the enemies get locked in giant areas with you.
his question was rhetorical, sperg
Yeah, it's a survival horror game for the demons and they always lose.
They actually used clips from this song for the promotional material and advertisements for doom eternal... now you know why :)
I feel you should watch the doom soundtrack documentary. Mick stands on stage and explains how he created the sound of doom
This track is so motivating, makes you feel like you can do anything!
This song makes me wish, for some reason, that Mick Gordon was made to make a soundtrack for some new Bionic Commando game. Something about this song (1:55) reminds me of what Simon Viklund did with Bionic Commando Rearmed.. but ofcourse he went entirely more electronic, but I would absolutely LOVE to hear what Mick would do with Bionic Commando themes and his metal sound with some synth...
Metal Hell is just another level of heavyness imo, it takes my soul out everytime i hear it.
Koma's mixes are great. In my opinion, The official arrangements are already great enough that they don't need to be rearranged. I do appreciate him for doing his best in mixing the tracks that weren't properly mixed by Mick Gordon.
by the way at 8:01 That's actually the chainsaw sound effect from the original doom games used as a sample.
This music makes you feel like you can kill the concept of space and time.
funny you'd say subway, in the game you literally take a train to get to the Cultist Base (and fight on it)
Koma has THE best mixes of the OST
Mick Gordon with the Doom 4 and Eternal soundtracks in a nutshell:
Guitars- I sleep
Chainsaws and lawmowers- *REAL SHIT*
Isn't this the one that actually has no real guitar in it, just synthesized lawnmowers and chainsaws?
yup, he did use those lol
@@TheGashizmo I know he used them but I'm pretty sure I heard this song specifically used no real guitars, just the lawnmowers and chainsaws, which I think is very impressive as they sound pretty similar and carry the song just like a heavy guitar would
@@MrPerson61 That's what I meant
Yes this is the one
Please listen to Immora next, it’s a DLC track made by David Levy it’s probably the heaviest in the whole game
you GOTTA listen to Blood Swamps from Koma's channel. It was made by Andrew Holshult, not Mick, but it's still fantastic!
i think something other people havent mentioned yet is that in the actual game, Mick Gordon put a bunch of different riffs in the music the play randomly as your playing the game to make everyone's experience a little bit more unique
gordon's transitions are so fucking clean
You can't just "expect" from Mick Gordon 😎
Now you've done it. I'm off playing some DOOM now.
8:12
Now that is a certified eargasm
It reminds me of those dark NIN remixes from back in the day.
Love your reactions
my #1 gym song to hit PR's to.

Bruh, the gamerip is better

8:02 A FUCKING CHAINSAW!!!!!!!
If KoRn and Mick don't collab on their next album, I'm gonna be a bit upset.
its violence in song form
RIP AND TEAR
I would recommend the track “Metal Hell”
WEEEEEEEE
WEEE WOO WEEE WOO
WEEEEEEEEEEE
...aaaand YT shut down Koma's channel. F-Y, RUclips.
Listen to the Icon Of Sin theme that one is awesome. 👍
90 % of this song is just C.H.A.I.N.S.A.W the last is .L.A.W.N.M.O.W.E.R
There are no instruments in this song only synths and garage/garden tools
What do you think about this song? YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
Feels like a he's playing a chainsaw...it's delicious! >:)
Coz he is
can you react to BFG Devision from DOOM 2016 and Metal Hell, BFG 10k from DOOM Eternal
BFG10000 next pls🙏
some quake 2 reactions?

Funny song. Sounds different from the soundtrack. Good track none the less
hey Jesse can you listen to maybe im a lion from ff8 (final fantasy 8) @Jesse's Auditorium
Command and control from doom eternal
1:25
that is the buildup wdym
Best part about this is that there's no guitars.
Butchimus kind of ruined this song for me. I can still jam out to it but everytime I do I can only think of Formula 1 cars.
