Finally someone who recognized a Dom isn't an acrobat. It's basically a hover tank in mobile suit form and the body is just a turret that turns to aim the weapons.

And you can make the Dom Funf that appears at the beggining of stardust memory by just doing so simple things like removing those sand filters of the legs and a paint job.

I have the standard purple version, and I was always wondering why there was a peg on the back of the pelvis with no part to connect to it. Turns out that it doesn't have the rear skirt thruster that the sand brown has. Also, the purple should have been equipped with two Sturm Fausts, as they were used to blow up a GM in episode 2 of the OVA.
The Dom Tropen is basically a Rambo Dom. All he needs now is to holster the machine gun and grab the biggest gattling cannon to use with his uh... I think it's a Raktan/Rakatan Bazooka. Got the name from a game.
On MSG BO2 there are a TON of com variants and I always moved how packed they were well some were understocked in terms of Arsenal but man they are so AWESOME
I bought both and you're also missing the back under skirt boosters to the purple Dom Tropen on top of all the accessories you don't get. Buy two sand brown versions and paint one if you really want the other Dom color scene.
Are the pegs on the ammo and sturmfausts the right size to fit on the Zaku II F2's skirts? That would make for a seriously tacticool Zaku, especially those machinegun bandoliers.
On my F2 I put the ammo drum and grenade on the left side skirt using just a little bit of extra thin cement. Super glue could probably do it too if you didn't want to make it permanent but it looks really cool adding little things like that and I definitely recommend doing it without hesitation. If you haven't done it yet then you should stop hesitating it's been a year dammit
the dom is a strange but endearing design. the legs look silly UNLESS you understand why they look like that. in witch case its actually kind of bad ass, 6 thermal nuclear jets in each leg/foot is nothing to joke about lol
Every I review I check out mentions how this kit is 'dated.' And there is a more recently 'Unicorn' version available, but it's much more expensive from the sources I've seen. I just bought one, and I am expecting it'll look nice next to my Zaku II and Gouf Custom. No dynamic poses needed.
I personally prefer the out-of-box plastic colors of the Torrington Base purple and red Dom Tropen, but having bought that one instead, I was really disappointed that it came with no MMP-80 or holders for the Sturm Fausts. The exclusion of those accessories was seriously shitty on Bandai's part.
Thanks for the review, not a ton up for the Dom Tropen. I see it has a similar philosophy as the Kampfer. Go in, makes stuff explode, and get out if you can. If you can't, take some Feddies with you.
Though warning it's really difficult to get all 4 strum faust on the back as the side skirts and back skirt are all seperate pieces and don't connect well at all..
@@iqbalsk8s Yeah, the sturm fausts are a bit of an issue. I just use two for my Dom’s loadout, with other hard points being magazines for the bazooka and machine gun. In the end, it’s still armed to the teeth.
Most Gunpla from after the 80s are snap fit. You could assemble this with just a pair of nippers if you don’t care how it looks. Hell, I remember putting together some kits when I was younger by just punching parts off the sprues with my fingers.
+RacerM53 No glue and painting is required (unless you buy the *really* old pre 1990 kits) In my reviews nothing is painted except for the panel lines, which are done with a fine tip Gundam Marker.
I highly recommend getting the HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 REVIVE Version or 30th Anniversary Version if you are new. It's very very simple and looks great straight out of the box.
+Hiruma Berserker Raketen Bazooka, yeah. It is a shout out to the 88mm Panzershreck bazooka used by Germans in WW II. (Notice a certain stylistic flair to the Zeon stuff that begins to show up in the Nineties? ;)

That is the most tacticool dom I've ever seen.
There should be more mobile suits like it.
+Kyle Morgan you'd probably dig the Kampfer, the Astrae F2, and the GM Sniper K9. Lots of mounted weaponry options, tons of firepower
Arrowdodger I've got all but the Kampfer. Tragically, my Astrea was missing its left holding hand, and the K9 just felt kinda disappointing.
Wait till you see the psycho zaku
Really love this kit. Almost makes me wanna customize it into a Sleeves version from Unicorn
Oni Armoury just make the eye red and the Sand and brown a slightly more blanched look.
Who needs articulation when you have artillery.
two shades of gray sounds like a much less interesting successor.
I really wish the mono eye moved. Then it would be a pretty good kit for its age imo
Thanks for this review I ended up buying this version of DOM. I'm so happy with the decision.
Just ordered one of these can't wait!
Well, I now know what I'm getting a giant gatling for.

what the best Dom kit I should start?
Is there a way to chance the red face plate?
I wonder if bandai could do a custom build line ( like model: dom
weapons: zaku machine gun
color:red, dark brown, cream
That’s supposed to be the job of the builder.
All the articulation went to the weapons...
