Lyrics:
There must be lights burning brighter somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land, where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true, oh why
#ElvisPresley #IfICanDream #OfficialAudio
I can play this on a loop forever.
You can't
Elvis is good
Kyle Saaaaame!! 💖
Same
Same here! Personally my all time favorite song by The King :)
Everyone needs this at these dark times
Amen
2020 needs this
We are all dreaming of a warmer sun. So its like Elvis foreshadowed the pandemic. Without knowing it.
The times can never be dark if you know Jesus! When I hear Elvis sing gospel it feels like God is right next to me
@@breakfastsurreal5650 He did sing Gospel music and was very religious too!
I discovered this masterpiece during the movie. It’s a shame I haven’t earlier!
Literally same, it is so inspiring xx
The most true thing said in an eternity, the songs his best- no the best ever song EVER SANG, Am I right? Am I:
If I could dream of a better land where all my brothers stand hand in hand… please let my dream come true.
Just amazing…..
Same here, but I'm glad I did find it rather than not at all!!
Same. Never heard it until I saw the film
Same happened to me and I can't forgive myself!
On what would've been his 89th birthday today, happy birthday, Elvis Presley, the Undisputed King Of Rock and Roll.
Crazy to think he could have lived to the modern day if he just had a proper diet and exercise routine.
@deadmeme8011 well I mean it would have taken alot more than just that to fix up the King. Getting off drugs to start. Also surgery to address chronic fecal impaction from all the pain killers.
This song is one of Elvis's best. Incredible. Very moving and very poignant lyrics. A great song of hope and optimism for everyone.
Also American Trilogy from his Aloha Live from Hawaii concert. Awesome
It was sung by Elvis in particular reference to the socio-economic & political landscape of the late 1960’s.
After this he said he would never sing a song he didnt believe in or make a movie he didnt believe in
Too bad he didnt do West Side Story
@@edwinmalachy To why his movie career was cut short because of this stance
Greatest song recorded in America ever considering the times.
I'm not even an Elvis fan, but this is a great fucking track. Jesus.....
I'll be honest, out of all the Elvis songs I heard Elvis sing, I never heard him hurl out the power behind his voice like this particular song of his!
It almost defies physics how he was able to get those notes with his deep raspy voice perfectly.
Gotta be heaven singing through him on this one
I think you just nailed it bang on. The song's a bs free build up of glory, happiness, and hope. All in about just over 3 minutes. I'm glad you noticed how raspy yet powerful his voice is. Maybe his finest performance ever, but there's so many.
HURL OUT THE POWER? Lol..wrong way to describe it..
You mean sing with so much power
He is singing from the heart. Its a song he released after the shooting of Martin Luther King
It brought something out of him and his voice that no song before or since had. He was still young and healthy enough to bring out the rasp and had mastered the gospel belt out with maturity. He’s profoundly connected to the song he is singing
“If I Can Dream” (1968) marked the rebirth of Elvis Presley’s career after he spent most of the 1960s recording soundtracks to the films he was appearing in.
The hopeful and uplifting song was written as a response to the assassinations - just a few months earlier - of two FAMOUS DREAMERS : Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968) and Robert Francis Kennedy (1925 - 1968).
This was the superstar’s biggest chart hit since “Love Letters” (1966)❗️
In 2017, Priscilla Presley stated that “If I Can Dream” and “An American Trilogy” (1972) were her two favorite Elvis pieces.
WORTH A LISTEN… OR TEN‼️ 💙💭💜
Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed will you remain, Elvis Aaron Presley (1935 - 1977)… 🌹
Thiss song was played as we walked out my boyfriend's funeral !! it means everything this song❤ he loved Elvis Presley ❤what a legend xx❤
It’s beyond anything I can understand that everyone can hear Elvis and not realize his incredible talent❤️❤️❤️
Elvis sings with great depth. It makes me feel the depth of his bosom.
Has to be one of the most inspirational songs ever !
He’s called “The King” for a reason!
Probably his greatest song ever written this was Elvis at his pinnacle!😊
Elvis Presley - If I Can Dream
There must be lights burning brighter somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land, where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true, oh why
[Verse 2]
There must be peace and understanding sometime
Strong wind of promise that will blow away the doubt and fear
If I can dream of a warmer sun, where hope keeps shining on everyone
Tell me why, oh why, oh why won't that sun appear
[Bridge]
We're lost in a cloud with too much rain
We're trapped in a world that's troubled with pain
But as long as a man has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly (He can fly)
[Verse 3]
Deep in my heart, there's a trembling question
Still, I am sure that the answer's... answer's gonna come somehow
Out there in the dark, there's a beckoning candle, yeah
And while I can think, while I can talk, while I can stand, while I can walk
While I can dream, oh, please let my dream come true, oh, right now
[Outro]
Let it come true right now
Oh, yeah
Perfect song for whats going on in the world today. R.I.P. Elvis.
1968: Songwriter W. Earl Brown was showing this to Colonel Tom Parker, who said it wasn't an Elvis kind of song. Elvis, from the other room, disagreed: "I'd like to try it". This was the final result. The Southern Gospel music of his boyhood in Memphis was a large influence in his later recordings.
One of the GREATEST!
My grandpa passed away this morning and he was the father that raised me and elvis was his favourite always he would sing along to him in the car so I've been playing elvis all day ❤
Damn I’m sorry for your loss
I’m sorry 😔
first time i heard this Elvis track... might be my favourite. I Pray there is a heaven for a dude like this.
Gee,first time you have heard this classic. Am 46 and heard this most weekends my late mothers hero, and mine also. Long live the KING.
Scott D I'm also 46, my dad was totally obsessed with Elvis music and I was the only kid in the family who took on my dads music. I've heard every song Elvis has done. He's definitely the king of Rock
@@lynncantrell5502 there's no other solo singer like The King.
@@lynncantrell5502 Same!
This track shows why Presley was one of a kind and this was never copied.
Elvis a great man, very polite to his fans. Smart. Loved his parents. Respect for the country. And loved everyone.
What do you admire most about Elvis
Even 13 year old girls
@@psychedpanda3333go away kid
@@hothemeep1219 that’s what Elvis should’ve said to the 13 year old girls. I still like his music though so I’ll stay lol
@@psychedpanda3333 he can do whatever he likes, and they didn't really met until she was 17
Can't believe I'm crying
Such a beautiful song and powerful message. Elvis really was the king of music
THE KING
Mr. Elvis Presley, the fans never forgotten you!! We love you so much! We missed you!😭❤️🙏🤴🎤🎶🎵🎼🕺🏾
Surely among one of his greatest songs in my opinion. The depth, the emotion - amazing.
you can tell he really means the lyrics
This Classic is definitely one of my favourite songs Ever!!!
Big Big thank you to everyone involved for the education + pure Joy when Hearing this amazing Tune!!!
🙏👏👊
❤️&✌️
Just unbelievable and unreachable, probably my favorite piece of music of all time
I am from Saudi Arabia and I see Elvis Presley is not just an ordinary singer, he is G.O.A.T R.I.P Elvis
The passion in Elvis's voice is unspurpassed. He was an absolute master and continues to live on as the genius he was. RIP to the forever King of Rock.
This is my dad’s favourite song, he’s in hospital so whenever I hear this song it reminds me of him, I have really got into Elvis ever since my dad had a stroke, and his music is actually quite nice! ❤
Dare we ask how your father is doing four months later?
No one sung better than Elvis. This song is amazing. He truly loved life and people and wanted peace around the world. What a singer! Never be another like him.
The words to this song melt my heart, and make me feel warm inside. This man had a way with words, and he put ALL of himself into this song. Almost 60 years later, still a hit, and so relevant in the times we're facing today.
It will always be relevant so long as there is one person hating another .
It's like he wrote this song for today with all the grief and turmoil in this world.
God-bless you Elvis for singing this song with such great Conviction !! I have played this song in my darkest hours many times.
Absolutely love this song.
thurnishaley004 i love Elvis Presley i love all his songs and movies
All brothers do
Powerful presentation. One of his best.
Should be released as a single today. It would spur to #1
Bravo, Elvis, bravo!!! Absolutely marvelous! Standing ovation all the way!
This song gives me chills every single time.
The King of music FOREVER
I never was the biggest Elvis fan, but while on vacation in Memphis we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tour Graceland. The final part of the tour takes you to his racketball court as the little ipad microphone combo tells you his path on his last day on earth. After that you walk to the meditation garden as this song plays, staring at his grave with this song playing nearly made me cry, after the whole tour Elvis has a true part in my heart and now he is one of my favorite artists. But that moment in the meditation harder still replays whenever i hear this song.
Saw This At A Drive-In Back In "68" I Was Very Young.
This song is sung full of emotion. But his manager didn't want to publish this political song. It is recorded short after the assassination of Martin Luther King ("I have a dream") who was born in Memphis in poverty, like Elvis. Elvis felt connected to the black population.
Elvis wasn't from Memphis. he was from Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi
They were both born in poverty that is what Rob was gettin' at.
FaggotEditor he’s talking about Martin Luther king not elvis
@@liberty5873 he said "who was born in Memphis in poverty, like Elvis"
this sentence implies that he thinks Elvis was born in Memphis
so i corrected him
FaggotEditor Yeah Elvis wasn’t born there but the main point is that it implies that Martin Luther King was born into poverty as well. I don’t think he really looked into it that much when typing it because its just a RUclips comment
This song is do needed at present . We need peace .
Such a beautiful beautiful voice ❤
The moment I listened to this song is the moment tears filled my eyes. It spoke the most abstract yet direct precipe I've ever known. The truth.
Perfect song for welcoming and Palm Sunday
There will never be anyone as great as Elvis. He gave us so very much and as long as I love I will pay his songs forward for others. ❤❤❤
I can't believe there was such a great musician 30 years before I was born.
I'm obsessed with his song and performance.
Heard this song once after finding out a friend had fallen into a coma. It was not only comforting, but uplifting. As long as a man has the strength to dream, he can redeem his soul and fly... My friend made a full recovery. Long live the KING!
This should be played more on television,so powerful
Elvis pours his heart soul and spirit into this Presley master piece the pinnacle of Presley perfection.... this has to be the greatest vocal ever sung by a human being that’s why Elvis is the king...My favorite Elvis song to sing 🎵 🎶 🎤....
was brought up on his music and my kids will be too

Great song. ELVIS FOREVER ❤❤❤
This song is as relevant today as it has ever been. This wonderful man does it emotionally beautiful .
The king
I was five years old in 1968...remember it like it was yesterday watching him sing this beautiful song
One of the greatest ballads of all time!
Elvis was gifted. What a legend 👏 ❤️
God... this is absolutely beautiful. Not only one of my favorite Elvis songs but one of my favorite songs in general
this is definitely the best song Elvis could ever make, amazing lyrics and singing, just incredible, i can listen to it 100 times and not get tired of it.
Here because of the Måneskin cover. Glad a fresh super talented band made me discover this masterpiece! Elvis was my late dad’s fav singer I grew up listening to his songs but didn’t know about this one. Such a wonderful surprise instead of someone my age knowing about this learning about it from Italians at their 20s!
Watch the video. In a white suit!!
Who? What "cover"? Never heard of whatever that act is you referred to
NOBODY (not even Celine Dionne) can add to this best written and performed classic.
@@edwinmalachy was just gonna say: you might have came from the cover but us elvis fans really came bcuz we know his music not some cover
Same here, had to hear the original after listening to the Måneskin cover for a few times already. For any of you true Elvis fans this should be a good thing, it's all just proof that his songs can still be current and that people still love him enough to make new movies about him. (The cover we're talking about is on the movie soundtrack in case that wasn't clear.)
I always see it as a positive when people are willing to learn more about music (or anything really), instead of just limiting themselves to one band, one style, or one era. So yes, we may have heard this through Måneskin, but we are here now checking out the original too, aren't we? Enough space in our heads and hearts for more than just one great band. Maybe stop being petty about it and accept covers as tributes and free advertisement to great artists and songs like they're meant to be 😊
Oh, and if you seriously have not heard of Måneskin maybe give them a chance too? If they're good enough to open a concert for the Rolling Stones, win the Eurovision song contests and other music awards, top the charts in many countries including the US, and to fill huge venues, they've clearly already proven to be worth a try. If you still hate them, no big deal, but at least next time you won't sound like you've been living under a rock for the past year and a bit 😁
1:32 my favorite part❤❤❤
Amazing.
I'm the famous Paul Desca from London.
Famous haha
+Paul Desca is that why your photo is David Bowie?
I admired David Bowie greatly.

Elvis Presley passed away when I was 2 years old, but I grew up listening to the King and loving every minute of it. I'm 45 now, still moving on and cherishing his soul ever more.
It’s his “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” 💕
The king. Ahead of his time and set the bar high. Cheers my man 🍻

Had this as one of my grandma's funeral songs, she was the most amazing person ever, she was the biggest laugh ever, she picked her own funeral song before she died, she knew she was getting cremated so she requested burning love by elvis 😂 god I miss her so much, she was my best friend. I'd do anything just to spend one more day with her
Sorry for your loss.
She sounds like an amazing and funny lady. I hope you're doing alright, Dan!
Was one of the other funeral songs (Hunk a Hunk a) Burning Love?
Mine too!
Beautiful!
I'm not the biggest Elvis fan...but WOW!
This is song is the most KING.👍
*jaw drop* ye gods, how have I never heard this before!?! Sooo incredibly powerful. My new and forever favourite song! 😍 😿
Oh man. That's all I can say really. Only really discovered this particular song through the movie but it is just quite something else. This is pretty much on every single playlist I've created now.
