Pop the heads off of the Jakks figures, put them on the Mattel versions and then you are good to go! Excellent comparison. I like the head sculpts of the Jakks figures more, but Mattel's body sculpts are better.
Jakks appears to have good face-mold talent. I mean, I haven't seen those guys since I was...a long time ago in the 90s, & they seem to bring back memories. So again, I would go totally OCD on them & customize them using the best parts (which is why I can't collect action figures anymore).
Excellent comparison, even though, as you said, there isn't much comparison when it comes down to articulation. We use the figures for animating, so more articulation always wins, hands down. But I suppose if it were just for display purposes, the Jakks' head scans and expressions would get the nod.
Mattel win this as Mattel with the scaling , articulation and accessories. These guys were all big but built differently (crush had shoulders and a chest with less of a belly than Barry for example) What happened to Mattel?! They were putting in a hell of a lot of effort and these are a perfect example, gauntlets, entrance wear....
0:52, win what hands down??! Doesn't Smash have a blue knee pad on his right knee i.e. where is it. While Ax is missing his brown wrapped knee pad from 1988 on his left knee (from Wrestlemania 4).
You're making a comparison between classics jakks and demolition mattel... It's not really fair... It's like comparing ruthless agression with elite... Deluxe agression is the equivalent of elite and sorry but deluxe are way better for the figure in itself and mattel is way better for the accessories.
Mattel did a little bit better on Ax but I like Jakks Smash and Crush more. Mattel has the better accessories. I like the Crush face scan on the Jakks figure more but I like the Mattel face paint because that's the design Crush wore more often.
I don't like Jakks' Smash headscan. It looks like 1989 Smash with 1987 (the original Smash) face paint. Mattel definitely nailed that one better than Jakks. Ax is 50-50 on which you like. (I prefer Mattel.) But Jakks win on Crush's scan. However, the body of Mattel's Crush is better. It's a shame mattel didn't paint the whole vest, though. :(
Jakks's Kane boots, while nifty looking, had that annoying bump at the top of the joint that made it difficult to stretch their legs all the way straight (as evidenced by the turntable shot). Clipping the itty bitty tab off remedies this, but still.
Yeah, I once put a Jakks series 3 deluxe classic NWO edition Scott Hall head on a generic ponytail 2007 Razor Ramon release that came in a two pack with Shawn Michaels which commemorated their 1994 Mania 10 ladder match; Although I was excited to have a Jakks Razor in my collection, I was never totally satisfied with his given head scan and later in Jan 2011 decided to swap heads...I soon regret it cause his head would never totally stay up like he had down syndrome, so needless to say, I was so happy when Mattel released purple gear Razor earlier this year. I work at Target so I bought it on my break one day and put it right in my car.
I agree, and I don't see how it could look like a "Mascot head" When the Mattel Crush body is a lot bigger lol If anything it Looks like a Mascot head now on the smaller Jakks Crush body it came with As even Glenn must have forgot he clearly pointed out himself..
It's not fair to compare Elites to Ruthless Aggression. RA would best be compared to Basic. and Elite would best be compared to Deluxe Agression. Overall, Mattel should be on a shelf. Jakks is a toy, like it's supposed to be. I think Mattel went into this design to be better than Jakks, but I don't see it. Mattel, as always, botched the face scan. Jakks, as always, completely nailed the face skan. Accessory wise, Mattel wins. Though, if you acctually play with them , the accessories are inconvienient. They should be easier to take off. And as a collector myself, I prefer belts over individual attire ment for one person. Jakks wins by far.
Jakks sucks, the belts are dull and hard to get on, the Axe bald spot is molded on the mattel while Jakks paints it and it looks like someone drew on his hair, the faces are terrible in Jakks while Mattel is better in detail sculpture and proportions, Jakks made Rey the same height as Undertaker and Doink is ripped as HHH. Almost every Jakks figure has a weird face expression while Mattel does natural faces at times. The cloth stuff that Jakks make for their figures are a bit too baggy. The deluxe aggresion figures are all the same height with awful faces and belts that will never be bigger or colored. I rest my case: Mattel is much better than Jakks pashitfic
I prefer Mattel for Ax and Smash, I think they captured their likeness perfectly. But, I prefer the Jakks Crush because the headscan is more like Crush, as you said and I think the Mattel body isn't that great. I always remembered Crush for being this huge, strong, muscular guy and Mattel didn't really show that with their figure.
I think jakks figures look better but Mattel accessories are better. Mattel figures are way to skinny and don't stand well. Jakks figures arms come very loose to easy, but I must admit Mattel have nailed there WWE retro Hasbro line which look awesome, keep the the retro line coming.
I like them both. Each has drawbacks to them. All the Mattel figures are rather sleek and each share a same musculature making the variances in height negligible. They seem almost hesitant to make a fat toy. Take away the heads and skin tones and all the Mattel figures are the same guy. Jaaks has the better head sculpts , but as the one fella pointed out, they do tend to be a tad too big, Razor Ramone being one of the most egregious. They weren't afraid to make a fat wrestler fat. And for this reason I tend to keep Yokozuna, Vader, and a few other big men as the penultimate versions of them. The lack of articulation does hurt the poseability of there figures, but then again, not every wrestler is so limber as to be able to do the full splits either. Their versions of Elite figures were much better made than the standard ones and had they done more of the legendary figures in that style and added variation in height while not following Mattel's lead of using the same bodies, they would still be atop the wrestling figure heap.
mattel nailed the paint jobs across the board. they are (for me) the classic look of demolition. certainly what i think of when i think of demolition. perfect. but that facial sculpt on crush is terrible. the jakks crush actually looks like the guy. brilliant job. in a perfect world we would have the jakks crush head on the mattel crush body. if that was the case,as far as im concerned, you have the perfect embodiment of demoltion in toy form. so close. yet so far.
Jakks > Mattel in EVERY WAY! Heads are better on Jakks and the Mattel with extra articulation are easier to break and easier to get loose over time. The stomachs on Jakks look better than Mattel an ab crunch is completely unnecessary. Jakks figures can Lift leg straight forward and up to give "Big Boot" moves while Mattel can not. The thigh articulation is good for nothing as is a split on a wrestling figure unless its on a wrestler that does a side kick. Big Boot vs Side Kick? I'll take the Big Boot. The fact that people want to pop the heads off of Jakks to put on Mattel already admits Jakks are better. Nothing is more important than the head/face of an action figure. Excelsior!
Mattel wins hands down, to me they are just better figures they are better all around Jakks Pacific had great head scans but the body's on the figures were just not good.
Pop the heads off of the Jakks figures, put them on the Mattel versions and then you are good to go! Excellent comparison. I like the head sculpts of the Jakks figures more, but Mattel's body sculpts are better.
Loon Lagoon Productions the jakks heads are too big for Mattel bodies unless they’re the r3 tech or titan tron live.
The jakks head scans are so much better
RIP Glenn Webb you was a great man
Happy New Year Sir Glenn, your're still 100% "King of Wrestling Figure Reviews" in my book, cheers!!!!
Jakks appears to have good face-mold talent. I mean, I haven't seen those guys since I was...a long time ago in the 90s, & they seem to bring back memories. So again, I would go totally OCD on them & customize them using the best parts (which is why I can't collect action figures anymore).
Mattel bodies, Jakks heads. Too bad Jakks heads are always 25% too big for anything ever, because combining the two would have made it ideal.
Excellent comparison, even though, as you said, there isn't much comparison when it comes down to articulation. We use the figures for animating, so more articulation always wins, hands down.
But I suppose if it were just for display purposes, the Jakks' head scans and expressions would get the nod.
We miss you Glen
Can the jakks masks fit on the mattel figures ??? Does anyone know?? I read the mattel gear won’t fit on jakks
Mattel win this as Mattel with the scaling , articulation and accessories. seeing the classic superstars box from jakks is extremely nostalgic
To be honest you can't really compare these because the jakks are not deluxe
Gleen you should do a evolution jakks and Mattel
He did the andre the giant evolution
Love the mattel figure! I grew up buying all the jakks figure but I'm really enjoying the mattel figure a lot more.
You're making a comparison between classics jakks and demolition mattel... It's not really fair... It's like comparing ruthless agression with elite...
Deluxe agression is the equivalent of elite and sorry but deluxe are way better for the figure in itself and mattel is way better for the accessories.
To me it's Mattel hands down!Nice video Glenn!
I just got my Defining Moments Ric Flair - its amazing ! Are you gonna get it Glenn ?
No I don't think so. Not a big glair fan so only maybe if I see the price come down
Glenn Webb he never said ric flair right rip
Mattel did a little bit better on Ax but I like Jakks Smash and Crush more. Mattel has the better accessories. I like the Crush face scan on the Jakks figure more but I like the Mattel face paint because that's the design Crush wore more often.

2:49 they stare into your soul...
Mattel totally wins overall. But I do have to give it to Jakks when it comes to just Crush
Jakks's Kane boots, while nifty looking, had that annoying bump at the top of the joint that made it difficult to stretch their legs all the way straight (as evidenced by the turntable shot). Clipping the itty bitty tab off remedies this, but still.
Plus Jakks pashitfic gave Doink muscles like HHH and elbow/knee pads
switch the Crush heads.
The Jakks figured have much more realistic faces, but the Mattel bodies seem more realistic.
It's not fair to compare Elites to Ruthless Aggression. RA would best be compared to Basic. and Elite would best be compared to Deluxe Agression. Overall, Mattel should be on a shelf. Dude you don't have to rage so hard it's just a comparison. Also why write such a long comment. Lol #ragemode you😲 me😂
Jakks sucks, the belts are dull and hard to get on, the Axe bald spot is molded on the mattel while Jakks paints it and it looks like someone drew on his hair, the faces are terrible in Jakks while Mattel is better in detail sculpture and proportions, Jakks made Rey the same height as Undertaker and Doink is ripped as HHH. Mattel demolition wins
I like Mattel cause they have jackets but crush's jacket has the things black instead of silver
Me too. I also don't like that mattel didn't paint Crush's entire vest like Ax & Smash had. The straps on the side are all black instead of silver. :(
Jakks Pacific
I forgot about Crush,
Mattel, but I think the Jakks ones are better than I expected
Demolition is awesome in wrestling
jakks
I go to Mattel axx smash and crush not jaxxs
I think jakks figures look better but Mattel accessories are better. Mattel figures are way to skinny and don't stand well. Jakks figures arms come very loose to easy, but I must admit Mattel have nailed there WWE retro Hasbro line which look awesome, keep the the retro line coming.
Jacks
Sucks
+Bambi Tomaszewski jakks
Dexter Woor Sucks
Mattel has so much better articulation and they look cooler.
Also they come with more accessories.
i like the one with the jackit easy way to spell thet
I like them both. Each has drawbacks to them. All the Mattel figures are rather sleek and each share a same musculature making the variances in height negligible. Jakks have better hair sculpt and mattel have a great quality plastic and paint.
mattel wins. but jakks wins for the likeness of crush
I like Mattel. Is Doug Bradley commentating this video? ;)
I think theyr all Awesome!
I like that Mattel makes crush taller, I just think jacks looks better overall because the Mattel look scrawny
Rest in Peace brother
Mattel Crush looks like crap. Both versions of the others are good each. I'd say it comes down to articulation if that matters to you.
I think Mattel because of the accuracy of the likeness of the real members
mattel nailed the paint jobs across the board. they are (for me) the classic look of demolition. certainly what i think of when i think of demolition. perfect. but that facial sculpt on crush is terrible. the jakks crush actually looks like the guy. brilliant job. in a perfect world we would have the jakks crush head on the mattel crush body. if that was the case,as far as im concerned, you have the perfect embodiment of demoltion in toy form. so close. yet so far.
the mattel one's better but the cool thing is they both look like the best rock band of all time KISS
That would be Sting
WWE Figure Hunter wait, what?
+Cryin' Daniel Bryan Kiss' face paint, white and black
R.I.P. GLENN

Who cares!? I like DEMOLITION I'll take both.
Mattels
mattel because they are elite and they have more entrance gear
mattle
I prefer the jakks because the bodies of the demolition are thicker, I think the mattels are to thin
MATTEL!!
Mattel Demolition wins!
Mattel but I admit jakks is pretty good
mattel are better but the crush face jakks is better than the mattel crush face i think
Common man! Jakks baby!
Mattel wins hands down, to me they are just better figures they are better all around Jakks Pacific had great head scans but the body's on the figures were just not good.
I didn't get laid, I

Mattel is so much better than jakks always :)
The Four Horsemen (Fantastic Exclusive) & McFarlane Toys beat'em all though, with their more; "highly detailed" action figures, busts and toys!
Mattel is fucking stupid :/
