You probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last few days :)
Jakks were great when they came out and still hold up nicely against Mattels Legends. But it seems Mattel is slowly stepping up their game. All they need is to make some Heenans,Jimmy Harts, and Grand Wizards in scale
I have not watched wrestling since the late 90's I had alot of the big ljn rubber figures, and the small cartoony plastic ones. It is very cool they have made alot of classics of the wwf and have come a long way in the sculps and likeness
I only had the first Jakks one, which I really liked. I loved the Hasbro style of figures. In fact, my love for them grew as I grew older. I learned to love the style of sculpts. They weren't just simply a crappy attempt at a realistic sculpt. They were specifically going for a cartoon stylized look. The Hasbro Earthquake is pretty interesting in that it seems to have leg articulation, which few Hasbro figures had.
I've been wanting to pick up this figure, but the two that I've seen have real bad paint apps on the head sculpt... You found a pretty well painted figure...
lanzotv Yeah where I bought them had loads so I was able to sort out the best one. I did see some pretty bad painted eyes. Also the yellow band around his chest looked sloppy on some so thats something to keep an eye on too
Great educational video Glenn! But I hate Hate HATE how Mattel makes fat wrestlers slimmer! It's like photo shop for action figures! I'll take Jakks body with Mattel head! Cheers!
Used to be a huge Jakks WWE Classics collector. Still have a few MOC in the closet actually. Once Mattel got the license I slowly stopped collecting WWE figures all together.
I have this figure and it's awesome. Great video Glenn. Also 2 questions. 1. Have u seen some more of the figure Mattel has put out on ringside collectibles? 2. R u gonna be picking up the hall of fame series from a few months ago & the ones that just came out?
NightCrawler 006 No I won't be picking up the Target exclusives. I'd like to but Target are not a worldwide operation so paying scalpers on ebay to ship them to the UK will be way more then I'd be prepared to pay for them
Hey, Glenn. Great video. I'm currently working on a civilian Gwen Stacy custom, and her trench coat has me stumped. Can you think of any reasonably priced female figures with trench coats in scale with Legends? I'd rather go the route of a floating plastic piece instead of cloth.
They should do a range of Angel wrestlers as most of the legends are up in Heavens wrestling area, and would a Curt Henning, Mr Perfect figure really be perfect, I loved that guy, mean wrestler. I was also a huge wrestling fan until it all got boring, at least the figures are pretty good.
I actually like the Jakks version better the hair detail is better ,the face is more human ,and when I think of earthquake I think of a huge man which the Mattel version just doesn't translate for me. It may be more realistic but I kinda like the over the top bodies of Jakks in some cases and Earthquake is definitely one of them.
For guys like Earthquake or Vader, I think I prefer the figure have their outfit painted on, as just part of the figure, as opposed to the soft goods/cloth. Those just look too baggy most times like it's about to fall off or something. If it's a tee shirt, for like a Cena or maybe Piper, idk, that's fine. With the bigger guys it's like a body suit diaper or something. But maybe that's just me, idk.
I thought so i just found it out my attic funnily enough. still feeling as fluffy as ever. regarding George Steele though, that figure must surely be a bastard to try and do any custom work considering George is 95% hair.
Rest in Peace and thank you for the memories and entertainment hero.

@Moshe Leland yup, I have been using Instaflixxer for months myself =)
Tenta was always one of my favorite WWF wrestlers. He had a pretty good run in Japan, too.

Raefgotti Yeah agreed mattel need to break out some managers
I'd love to see a ridiculous custom of Earthquake's later WCW gimmick as The Shark. Not a big fan of WCW, but that gimmick was hilarious. Great Video!
I loved it when you said Jakks fell asleep making the wrist tape that was so funny that made me laugh
Great video Glenn. Really like then new figure actually.
I have not watched wrestling since the late 90's I had alot of the big ljn rubber figures, and the small cartoony plastic ones. It is very cool they have made alot of classics of the wwf and have come a long way in the sculps and likeness

I have to go with the best of the best of war
the defining moments line is pretty much the legends line now.
first! don't wanna be that guy but this is like a bucket list type thing

SalvadorLosAngeles Yeah they would benefit from being larger. I think the engineering that allows the elite articulation negates that though
Used to be a huge Jakks WWE Classics collector. Still have a few MOC in the closet actually. Once Mattel got the license I slowly stopped collecting WWE figures all together.
Angelito Yambao Jr. That's probably why Mattel's Legends failed. I didn't really how good they were myself until it was too late
I have this figure and it's awesome. Great video Glenn. Also 2 questions.

Big Show has the same Tiger tattoo, hehehehehe!!! Coincidence!??

They should do a range of Angel wrestlers as most of the legends are up in Heavens wrestling area, and would a Curt Henning, Mr Perfect figure really be perfect, I loved that guy, mean wrestler. I was also a huge wrestling fan until it all got boring, at least the figures are pretty good.
