A true masterpiece from Gabriel Fauré which he composed between 1887 and 1900. It's the final of seven movements and is sometimes performed when a deceased's remains are taken after the church service for burial to the final resting place. It is heavenly, consoling and can be very uplifting for those attending such solemn occasions.
In paradisum deducant te angeli, In tuo adventu Suscipiant te martyres, Et perducant te In civitatem sanctam Jerusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, Et cum Lazaro quondam paupere Aeternam habeas requiem.
Holy Child Jesus, console and help all those who are suffering and grieving! Grant eternal rest to all the faithful departed, especially the souls of departed children.
I could understand some of the words, except for the word "Easter" that the setvice is named after. It is neither Greek or Hebrew, so I'd love to know why it is used as a celebration title.
Faure's "In Paradisum" has to be perfection in music. Mere words just do not describe it.
I agree. The angels must sing this in heaven 😇✨💕
I,m an non-believer. But this is so beatiful!
I listen often to this beautuful and haunting piece, drawing comfort and inspiration from it.

It's in Latin, from the Requiem Mass by Faure. This is sung as the coffin is carried from the church to the graveyard.
