This is the voice of God, written through His instrument Mozart, sung with the gifts He had given these young men. Stunning performance.

Actually, it is! They have a lengthy audition process about 2nd grade-ish., Then once you become a chorister at about 8, some of your everyday school classes are directly having to do with choir. In addition to extra rehearsal times on other parts of the week, and often during school holidays. The selection process for being a chorister at Westminster is slightly worse - you are after all singing in the Monarch's official church - but the process is no less demanding.

When I die, I want this music played at my funeral and and hope that God, in his bounteous mercy, will grant me entry to His Heavenly Kingdom. Music such as this is a portal to the divine. I adore this piece, Ave Verum Corpus , by one of my heros, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I first heard this work in about 1983 yet when I hear it now , it brings back the Summer term in Sixth form at William Hulme, May through to July 1992. I was suffering from depression and couldn't cope with the demands of French A level. But, as usual, Mozart transported me into a world of upmost beauty and serenity and grace and immense comfort. I think of how young I was in 1992 - I was 17 years of age and my whole life lay ahead. I remember the yearnings and the hot Summer of 1992, the grey blazer I wore each day and the rain that fell in the quad during the last few days of Lower Sixth. Whenever i hear this piece i feel so sweetly sad and yet so entwined in beauty and the longings of those days, thirty years ago.Thank you Mozart.

Wonderful Maestro Hyde. The time of performance comes in at 3:07 compared to Dr. Cleobury's "speed is of the essence" readings which came in over the years at 2:25 or 2:35. I used to adjust the playback speeds to 0.75 back then just to hear the piece breathe. No need to do that now as this version neither drags nor breaks the speed limit. Sublime. Even considering everything else Mozart gave us, Ave verum corpus is a perfect gem. The amount of musical substance in these few minutes is astonishing, and this performance was marvelous.

@@markwhite5926 you're so ignorant, lost and prideful and on Judgement Day you'll hear what Jesus has to say about you insulting HIS Most Holy Mother, whom Christ Loves and respects 🙏🏻

@@markwhite5926 And what's the problem with having the profile picture of the mother of God?? Does this take away the glory of Christ? Obviously not! Thinking like that is binary and illogical. It was the Holy Trinity that chose Mary to be the mother of the Savior, the mother of God the Son. If even angels are glorious and deserve our respect and love, how much more so is the Mother of God and Queen Mother! The glory of the saints comes all from Jesus and directs us to Jesus! When we speak well of creation, we honor its creator! Yes, Mary compared to God is nothing... this is the teaching of the Catholic Church, and Mary herself has said this in her apparitions! But we, miserable sinners, compared to Her are nothing!! Therefore, learn to have more respect for the mother of your Lord, and understand that honoring her does not sadden Him, but magnifies Him, because among creatures she is the most beautiful and was Jesus' instrument for our redemption!

@@markwhite5926 Mary is definitely everything… if she didn’t say yes to God on conceiving the child Jesus what would become of humanity? She is the mother of God so it’s only right for us Catholics to honor and venerate her.

    • @markwhite5926
      @markwhite5926 2 года назад

@@Vivi-sx8yp this veneration is not found anywhere in the New Testament! Your false doctrine has a source, it is indeed a doctrine of demons! And she is NOT the mother of God, but of Christ's body... Jesus existed long before Mard did!
