I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my wife unexpectedly and suddenly on 11/21/22. I had just come home from out of town and expected her home from work. She was abnormally late and I called her with no response. She was found in her office at work after 2 hrs after her shift ended. Sitting in her chair with her head down as if praying. I was informed that she was gone when I arrived. She had just gotten a clean bill of health upon a check for a ‘repair’ for a brain aneurysm. Myself and my kids are still in shock over this. The last time I saw her was on 11/20 in the morning and I’m think I told her I loved her as she left to go back home as I always told her I loved her when we parted. I cannot remember saying it though. We were married for 31 wonderful years and I miss her deeply. Please people if you love someone tell them constantly because time is short and you never know how much you have of it.
Thank you for this heartfelt eulogy of a woman who was surely a precious human being; be comforted, sir, knowing you will see her again, never to be parted, with our Father in heaven.
It’s four months later, but I’m reading this and thinking I’d love to have this played, as well. I hope you have found some comfort and healing in these short few months. I hope you have happier days soon.
Susan Drabble-Brown One year after my mother’s funeral , we had a small private mass . Very simple. At the end I played this beautiful version by Herewehge. She went in paradisum . Fauré wrote this Requiem for his father death. That is why it touches us so directly .
My dear gentle son was brutally assaulted and suffered for six weeks in ICU. We are going to follow his coffin out to this heavenly music. It reflects his kind beautiful nature.
Dear, Might the Lord give peace to your beloved son. A big hug and a lot of love to you and your family. We need a lot of love in our hearts to forgive those who painfully attack us in all the ways.

What a beautiful way to honour her life , a Very loving gentle heart to heart hug dear Wilma, this piece has a very positive uplifting happy ethereal feel to it . What a sweet mother you have been and still are my lovely ❤
Whether it be classical or romantic in era, the feelings are the same. I understand you, GoldenShips. I feel the same. Everyone seems to be at peace. Happy it makes you feel this way. God bless you always.
Very emotional when one knows that French composer Gabriel Fauré wrote the exquisite little requiem « In Paradisum » in homage to his parents whom he could not console himself for their death.
One of the most beautiful music ever written. It conveys the feeling of stepping through heavens gates while being washed by pure light of serenity and love.
Brilliantly said Anders, I experienced this very thing when I was 19 washed by brilliant light and warmth like standing in the the midday sun , all pain the gone, and the feeling of love and well being will stay with me till I go and do not return again , this tune really has a touch of what I felt , great words Anders you summed it well .
Dedicated to my father, who passed away yesterday evening suddenly and totally unexpected. May he rest in eternal peace. His soul is immortal and his body will be star dust. I will miss him so very much.
I’m so sorry. I lost my husband that way: no warning, no goodbyes, just someone ripped out of their life in the middle of it. It comforts me to think that if some universal life force is behind the mind that composed this, it’s benign, and may even be waiting to welcome us back when we’re finished here.
Thank you all for your kind comments, each one is very much appreciated. This piece was played during my father's funeral together with “Nimrod“ and “Precious Lord, hold my hand“. I am certain that my father would have loved these amazing and emotional melodies. Bless you all in your daily lives.
Dedicated to my both parents. I feel so orphan like now. Never thought, that this time will come where I will not have parents at home. Rest in peace, dad and mom. God be with you. Missing you everyday, lots.
My little dog, but my biggest friend ever, died last year October peacefully while laying on my lap. This was a miracle, for he had cancer. But he never felt pain, was happy untill his last day. I'm very grateful for that, but still I can not getting used to not having him around anymore, for were ever I went, he went too. He stood beside me in difficult times and gave me so much love which made an eternal impression. When I sit as his little grave, I play this music, sometimes over and over again. It then feels as if he's with me, if I can hold him again, and I see him play in heaven with his favorite toy. I think Fauré was allowed to have a glimpse of heaven and wrote this music inspired by that. I want it to be played at my funeral.
My Italian father specified this beautiful piece of music for the close of his funeral in his will. He died without his family round him of Covid on 11.01.21 aged 92. Such a sad end to a life well lived but I was able to get the funeral he wanted complete with organist and soloist so for that I’m thankful.
I just sang this Requiem in concert- being one of the sopranos in this song is truly a surreal experience. Listening to this now, I’m realizing why we got a standing ovation. I’m so happy our choir for getting the privilege to perform this magnificent piece. Being able to move someone’s heart and soul with the music you make is such a wonderful thing, and something I’m so proud to dedicate my life to doing
Just how moving and how beautiful is this music. You all should feel so so proud to have been able to perform this. I am so in awe. I just love listening to it on my headphones LOUD. Thank you so so much. I really would love to be at a concert with this orchestra and choir performing it. I really would have to take a couple of boxes of tissues though. It really does touch your heart and soul. Thank you thank you thank you. :-)
Dedicated to my great friend Rob Marussi who died this morning from COVID aged 55 . A loyal & patriotic South African. Soldier, Engineer, Husband & Father. Rest in Peace Rob. You will be greatly missed.
No matter how many times I hear this I can’t turn it off in the middle. It’s such a soaring beautiful piece that it holds me until the last note fades.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. Plato.
"May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs receive you at your arrival and lead you to the holy city Jerusalem. May choirs of angels receive you and with Lazarus, a poor man,may you have eternal rest."
I am glad I had the comfort of this music as my kitty of nearly 16 years passed in my arms; I held her during her last moments. I had put this on, more to ease myself, as she slipped away after a long and happy life. I do not know where animals (or humans) go when they die, but Faure's music allows me to imagine her at peace.
Well, unfortunately soon i will experience the same thing with our family's dog. She has lived for 17 years already, which is much for a dog and she doesn't have much time left. She was already on this world 2 years before i was born, so she was with me all my life. It's so sad that animals die so soon compared to humans.
I love it too ! This is just the best music to end a Requiem ... as it would be to give a relieving conclusion to this wolrd. Try also to listen to the whole 3 minutes of Durufle's In Paradisum: this one's a gem too. Same goosebumps for me !
***** to both you and Pauline - I cry my eyes out when listening to this particular movement of the Requiem, as I just did now. I cannot begin to find the adjectives, in superlative terms, that I would use, in describing this music. But it is a lost art. I would bet the entire effects I'm worth that no composer of today could come even close to achieving something like this, with the same effect on the listener.
I now also dedicate this piece to my late wife, Kathleen, who sadly passed away on Thursday 30th November. I am heartbroken. But I know that she now shines among the stars.
Played this beautiful piece at my sweet husband’s funeral-I love it! First heard of it-believe it or not-from an interview of Jeremy Brett several years ago. He dedicated it to his mother and his second wife. I’ll never forget the first time I heard this during that interview. Very moving!
I believe you, Jeremy was a friend of someone I knew. It's lovely to see him mentioned here. This piece reminds me of him too. Years ago I went on a memorial trip to England in his honor and we traveled the country often visiting places that had some connection to him. Sometimes we would wander into them rather by accident...one of them being St. Martin-in-the-Fields church, where his funeral had been held. I had long wanted to visit it because of their classical concerts so once there I grabbed a program hoping we might come back later in the trip to attend a concert. Well didn't it have to be that the next one up was going to be a performance of Fauré's work including this piece. It still brings a tear to my eye...I still have that program too.
Sang in a Boys Choir as a kid and Faure's Requiem was on of my favorites to be a part of. Out of all 78 pages of music in the Requiem, In Paradisum was by far the most beautiful and moving piece. This rendition is magnificent.
In Paradise In paradisum May the angels guide you Deducant te Angeli: May the martyrs welcome you In tuo adventu suscipiant te Martyres, And they will bring you to the holy city Jerusalem Et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Jerusalem. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Jerusalem. May the angels welcome you Angelorum te suscipiat, And with Lazarus, the poor man Et cum Lazaro quondam paupere, And with Lazarus, who was once a pauper Et cum Lazaro quondam paupere may you have eternal rest æternam habeas requiem, May you have eternal rest. æternam habeas requiem.
The love of my life introduced me to this exquisite piece of music , he has moved on but I still listen to this imagining him holding me close . I am completely lost with him , the angels singing know my pain RJYS 19.05.19💔🇬🇧
I always have mixed feelings when I hear this beautiful music. As much as I enjoy it , also it reminds me of my beloved husband as this was played at his funeral !
“Dory! I need to speak to Alfred!” “Oh Mr Wayne…” “Listen to me! Something terrible is gonna happen!” “Im afraid it already has sir… about an hour ago. Im so sorry… I’ve been trying to reach you…”
Holy Shit I watched The Batman 3 days ago and didn't notice. But watched Copycat last night and found it absolutely amazing. Never would've know if not for your comment.
It's like the voices of angels that have the power to move you. A musical masterpiece by a masterful composer that was, is, and always will be Gabriel Faure.
Beautiful piece of music recommended by my mate who is into classical music I'm into metal and rock but I'm slowly loving classical music it's so beautiful no waah pedals nothing but just the music.

In paradisum deducant te angeli, in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et c__ Lazaro quondam paupere aeternam habeas requiem. --- May the angels lead you into paradise, may the martyrs receive you in your coming, and may they guide you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the chorus of angels receive you and with Lazarus once poor may you have eternal rest. "Requiem, Op. 48: In Paradisum" is a song by Gabriel Fauré.
This makes me happy cry. I sang this with my high school choir in North Mecklenburg Senior High School. We even made an album recording. This is absolutely beautiful.❤❤❤
I fell in love with this piece while watching both Inspector Morse's final episode (The Remorseful Day) and, later, Endeavour's Pilot episode and Series 1, Episode 4 (Home).
Reading some of the comments it’s apparent that many people have chosen this music for their own, or the funerals of their loved ones. I chose it as the closing music of my mother’s funeral. RIP.
The comments almost made me cry out loud out of sorrow. There is so much suffering in this world, I wish every single one of you perseverance and prowess to overcome even the hardest of challenges life may bring upon you.
How blessed you are Walt F - to have such an amazingly deep love for your Barbra Rose - such love can only come from God. I am transported to heavenly places when I hear this truly inspired and incredibly beautiful music - I never tire of listening to this glorious piece. God bless you and your dear Barbra Rose
1 of the most moving pieces written among the world of Requiems. Because is it a very light, high note choir, sometimes sung with a children's or juvenile choir, its reminiscent of a Lullaby....therefore reminding us how close birth and death actually are - in a way. I , a part time Hospice RN , often share or send this to a grieving family or friend. Same with the beautiful Fauré 'Sanctus'. These 2 pieces will be played at my memorial, I hope.
I remember playing this in 1971 at York University. Also this is the last piece I conducted at Surbiton High School for Girls in December 1998. Faure was sent from Heaven.
In Paradisum is only one part of the Reqiuem Mass, the Catholic funeral Mass, and is the last movement, as the body leaves the sanctuary. Many people do not realize that faure or mozart or whoever didn't write the words to the different movements of the Requiem, but rather they are prayers that have been said/chanted/sung at catholic funerals for hundreds (or maybe even of one thousand)of years
The first time I heard this masterpiece, it was in the movie 'The Thin Red Line'. I immediatly fell in love with it and it touched me. Until today I didn't know who the composer or what the title of it was... This is so divine, it makes you wonder: Is there a god watching over us, knowing that there are more stars in the universe then sand grains on this earth... Knowing that, why would he even look at us then? When you think sand grains, don't think 'beach' think 'Sahara' ....
When I was young, so long ago, a sixth former, I sang in this along with my school's choir in my Norman parish church. Singing in it leaves a mark as it's so beautiful and although I've sung in choirs since, this was the pinnacle.

Played this beautiful piece at my sweet husband’s funeral-I love it! First heard of it-believe it or not-from an interview of Jeremy Brett several years ago. He dedicated it to his mother and his second wife. I’ll never forget the first time I heard this during that interview. Very moving!
it's a beautiful peace, sorry for your loss.
What an interesting connection-the great actor Jeremy Brett loved this piece as well.
It still brings a tear to my eye...I still have that program too.
me as well
This music will give you heart when we think all is lost and when we realise its time to say goodnight but it is just the begining of another journey
Sang in a Boys Choir as a kid and Faure's Requiem was on of my favorites to be a part of. Out of all 78 pages of music in the Requiem, In Paradisum was by far the most beautiful and moving piece. This rendition is magnificent.
Einzigartige Komposition,.
Man kann die Engel singen
Hören.
Dankeschön
In Paradise
In paradisum
May the angels guide you
Deducant te Angeli:
May the martyrs welcome you
In tuo adventu suscipiant te Martyres,
And they will bring you to the holy city Jerusalem
Et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Jerusalem.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Jerusalem.
May the angels welcome you
Angelorum te suscipiat,
And with Lazarus, the poor man
Et cum Lazaro quondam paupere,
And with Lazarus, who was once a pauper
Et cum Lazaro quondam paupere
may you have eternal rest
æternam habeas requiem,
May you have eternal rest.
The love of my life introduced me to this exquisite piece of music , he has moved on but I still listen to this
imagining him holding me close . I am completely lost with him , the angels singing know my pain RJYS 19.05.19💔🇬🇧
Very sorry for your loss.
Requiem aeternam.
I hope it's better now.
Some of the finest words ever written set to one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever composed.

It is so beautiful. If you have someone in heaven it takes you right to them.
I always have mixed feelings when I hear this beautiful music. As much as I enjoy it , also it reminds me of my beloved husband as this was played at his funeral !
The epitome of choral and vocal technique and artistry at its finest!
.
“Dory! I need to speak to Alfred!”
“Oh Mr Wayne…”
“Listen to me! Something terrible is gonna happen!”
“Im afraid it already has sir… about an hour ago. Im so sorry… I’ve been trying to reach you…”
Oh? Was this in the film?
@@ggt47 yes this was the exact music they played during the scene 👌
Holy Shit I watched The Batman 3 days ago and didn't notice. But watched Copycat last night and found it absolutely amazing. Never would've know if not for your comment.
I’ve been looking for this comment, this is also great music
So beautiful, I love to listen to this. Very moving. ❤️
Tranquility in every note. Someone once said this is the music that greets you when you enter Heaven. I don't doubt that in the least.
Amen
THERESA DONAGHY yeah, you know the lyrics, thats exactly what they say
Just enjoy the music and forget the superstitious nonsense.
A truly beautiful piece. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
It's like the voices of angels that have the power to move you. A musical masterpiece by a masterful composer that was, is, and always will be Gabriel Faure.
My mums Funeral yesterday 23/12/2020: heartbroken 💔

Beautiful piece of music recommended by my mate who is into classical music I'm into metal and rock but I'm slowly loving classical music it's so beautiful no waah pedals nothing but just the music.
I normally listen to rock as well but classical is fantastic. I need to listen to more of it really. Your friend has good taste.
A Dieu
Sublime.
My Mum died this morning and I can imagine her being piloted in a little bi- plane, soaring up and up in between the clouds with this beautiful introit to the gates of Heaven.
Goodbye Mum

"Requiem, Op. 48: In Paradisum" is a song by Gabriel Fauré.
GRAZIE per il testo :)..thanks for lyrics
You're welcome! 😉
Thank you, Erick! You have no idea how much the posting of these lyrics means to me...
et cum Lazaro
Requiem is not a song.
This makes me happy cry. I sang this with my high school choir in North Mecklenburg Senior High School. We even made an album recording. This is absolutely beautiful.❤❤❤
I love this; it is the one of the most beautiful songs ever.
Simplement merveilleux
I fell in love with this piece while watching both Inspector Morse's final episode (The Remorseful Day) and, later, Endeavour's Pilot episode and Series 1, Episode 4 (Home).
yes me too..and wow so powerful. had to listen to the whole thing.
That final episode with this music floored me.
A version was used in the film "Copycat" which is where I first heard it.
Such a fantastic piece of music AND voices, absolutely lovely.
It was used very briefly in 28 Days Later
Reading some of the comments it’s apparent that many people have chosen this music for their own, or the funerals of their loved ones. I chose it as the closing music of my mother’s funeral. RIP.
That is a fantastic picture of Herschel's Jewel Casket, in the Southern Cross. The music is beautiful, Faure was a genius!
As close to heaven as you can get without actually going there.
Gold.
Thomas King right!
Thomas King Is the traditional Latin mass.
A kitschy comment but ok
Sublimely beautiful, an expression of heavenly paradise in music.
This music puts me at ease and makes me love everything and everyone
Fauré reached into his soul and wrote the music of all things glorious. #magnificent
The comments almost made me cry out loud out of sorrow. There is so much suffering in this world, I wish every single one of you perseverance and prowess to overcome even the hardest of challenges life may bring upon you.
In my funeral plan I have included this requiem as the entrance music. Blissful
I played this at my mums entrance music so beautiful,i am going to request this for mine
This is one part of the Requiem, the Catholic funeral Mass.
This part is at the end, as the body leaves the sanctuary.
La musique du paradis existe !!! Merci Gabriel...
Singing it in a choir, is even more intense and beautiful.....try it.....
I've done it, and I know what you mean. It must be 20 years or so ago, but I can still remember the performance we gave, and the reaction to it.
Facts I sung the faure requiem as a boy chorister and it was magical
Unearthly-- sublime!!!! Ann Petty
This is a demo of heaven
Played at my Dad’s funeral last month. A beautiful piece of music.
The Pleiades is a perfect picture to accompany this beautiful music.
@@michaeld8200 What constellation?
@@michaeld8200 Southern hemisphere?????
I played this when my daughter died, and read the words to in paradisum before her burial.
I remember singing this song with our school choir at one of our school mate's funeral in February 1994 - Auckland New Zealand
Dedicated to my new born who didn’t make it …. I love you babyangel and daddy will see you again …. 1/25/2022🤍👼🏼
A perfect version of one of my most loved pieces , there are so many bad versions of this masterpiece out there , and it is a genius piece of music
Angelo Coucke hh
In loving memory of my dear friend David Adams who was laid to rest yesterday. Goodbye my friend, until we meet again.
I remember playing this in 1971 at York University. Also this is the last piece I conducted at Surbiton High School for Girls in December 1998. Faure was sent from Heaven.
Incredibly beautiful..Bravo & thank you.
This stirs every emotion possible, heaven through music
Manuel Pérez I sang this with the worlds 5th best choir, made me cry, hard to do on stage, lol. Especially at the freestyle
A beautiful sacred piece of music
+Manuel Pérez how true
+Manuel Pérez . Divine.
In Paradisum is only one part of the Reqiuem Mass, the Catholic funeral Mass, and is the last movement, as the body leaves the sanctuary.
Many people do not realize that faure or mozart or whoever didn't write the words to the different movements of the Requiem, but rather they are prayers that have been said/chanted/sung at catholic funerals for hundreds (or maybe even of one thousand)of years
just a lovely lovely sound oh! yes what human beings can do in a world of increasing cruelty and problems.heart warming,
The first time I heard this masterpiece, it was in the movie 'The Thin Red Line'.
